(Biggie Smalls, Dumb and Dumber, Beavis and Butthead, etc.) Dem giant guards :( The boss fight itself seems pretty self explanatory until I turn out to have no chance of attacking either one of them without getting flanked, generally by Ornstein's madgood DRG abilities (dat dragon slayer) Scratch all that. *** this boss. I'm sorry for making you write all that ; ; I beat him 6 minutes prior to that post. I kited endlessly, taking out Ornstein first as he missed his flying lunges into the pillars. Phase two I did the same kiting for Smough, making him charge into pillars and leap attack into them as well, throwing in a dash attack with a Black Knight's Halberd. Repeated until they died, the only danger was Smough's overkill lightning slam. Damage was reduced heavily blocking with the Black Knight's Shield. I have a small question though, do you get the Firelink Shrine firekeeper revived if you take out the guy in the Black Eye Orb? Yes, if you take out the guy with the black eye orb, she is revived.
You place her soul back into the cage. BTW, depending on who you kill second, that determines which armor can be purchased from Doomhall. I am so enjoying a faith build character, its only lvl 55 right now, but I can already see my character, Dr Zeus, working quite well with PVP stuff.

that dog with the sword in its mouth is awesome, just sayin
Sif is amazing. When ever I fight him, and he howls, my dog stares at the speakers and has even howled with him. Makes me lol every time.
The shield you make with his soul is pretty awesome. Sword is kinda cool too, but the stats needed to make it a powerhouse are kinda silly. I'm kinda stuck atm :(
I didn't think about bosses really when making this character build, and I'm so stuck on the four kings atm :( I have a chaos rapier +5 and a chaos black bow of pharis +2, but when I get him to 50% all 4 have spawned by then and I get murdered. This will be a problem... I might have to do the catacombs to upgrade my bonfire to 20 uses, and I probably should upgrade my flask as well... it's still only +1. I've just been rushing through this build though, only 5 hours in. I might just have to change some armor though to reduce magic dmg taken... I'll see. You should have just duped your box for your new character to have your armor and weapons from your main character!
Four kings , you either dodge all the hits, or you zerg it with stoneskin and heavy armor. If you have enough STR and a heavy weapon its pretty easy. If not, then you have to dodge dodge dodge and separate them. If you notice them bundling close together, just pull them apart by running around a bit, then chisel away. I don't like to dupe :x
but I'm going to try out poise to win the battle, going to go try it now. I have some +5 giant's armor that might help lol... that made such a difference. Made the 4 kings a joke on NG at least <.<;
I'll learn how to dodge eventually, hopefully <.< Siren.Kalilla said: » lol... that made such a difference. Made the 4 kings a joke on NG at least <.<; I'll learn how to dodge eventually, hopefully <.< Big lava dude is the one who taught me how to dodge everything... he isn't really hard, but if he hits you it's almost a one shot. I can dodge CD np, but on four kings I can't.... I go left/right and they track with me for some reason. I've watched the dodging videos on yoututbe about perfect runs with all 4 kings out at once, but I can't even dodge it with 1 out :|
I need practice but it's just frustrating when I spent 3 hours last night trying to successfully dodge just one, and ending up wasting so much time that all 4 were out by 50%. Poise just let me go at it and kill one after another as they spawned. Ragnarok.Raenil said: » Turns out the October 26th release is JP only. No date is set for NA. :| Any idea on when the DLC comes to PS3?

I'm not so great with dodging bosses for some reason, but I can dodge all day in PVP. I can't wait to try out my Faith build in PVP !! That all depends on what you plan to do , Moonlight Sword + sorcery ? Int!
Faith for lightning bolts, and force pushes. Pyro works with all sorts of builds, depends on if you want heavy or light weapons. Quite a few builds to make. Poise just let me go at it and kill one after another as they spawned. Key to dodging is to stay calm and be patient. You have to abuse that invincibility frame right near the start of your dodge. I always do 4kings with Grass Crest Shield on back and 2handing whatever weapon. I was studying shields and I kinda came up with a formula to rate them, and wonder what everyone else thinks about them.
I also have these with slightly different formulas:
Well that's the 2nd NPC I had to kill because of the ps3 gamepad design on the back triggers, I accidentally rest it on my bed and it presses the strong attack for me while facing NPCs ¬_¬ thankfully it was logan in firelink and I didn't really need him for anything else. Edit: I could have got absolution for it I know but I didn't need anything off him.
Also completely torn between my Iaito +10 and washing pole +10, I want to pick 1 as my main for my Samurai-esque main char and +15 it, but I love them both D: My build doesn't allow me to have 2 katanas in quick swap anymore :< GK both hands, no shield.
Siren.Kalilla said: » GK both hands, no shield. I probably will drop the target shield, only occasionally use it for parry+riposting mobs I get annoyed at :3 I play 2handed for the majority of the game. My other concern about picking between Iaito and washing pole is PvP, i'm wanting to get into it fully when i'm around SL120, is the washing pole looked down on as a "noob" weapon at all because of the extended reach? Players will call you a noob for using something no matter what <.<;
I've learned that using giant's / havel's armor is considered being a noob, as well as using certain spells. Idk, they are in the game for a reason so why should we not use them. People who call people noobs are just sore losers.
The only noobs that I call noobs, are the ones that summon 2 others, to do a 3 v 1, and I'm the 1. That is just annoying to spawn, and immediately be slashed down. Thankfully I've learned to roll away as soon as I spawn, and if I'm lucky, I'll roll away into a safe spot. Then AOE their *** with some pyro spells, or now with my faith spells. AOE ftw. *noob moment*
I got on FFXI today and tried to backstab a goblin. Seriously. Going back to dark souls :\ |
