Rumor: Valiant Saga Final Fantasy
Bismarck.Faelar said: » Family Settings.....im thinking one of my friends is being a ***...but he swears he didn't put it on there It won't be a Vagrant Story sequel; Vagrant Story takes place after/around FF Tactics, which places it over 1000 years later than this is supposed to be. :x /buzzkill
I'm just hoping they don't pull more random time travel out of their *** to get Ashley in like they did with Balthier and Luso in War of the Lions. :/ Wouldn't be surprised if this "lone mercenary" is called a Riskbreaker, though. They said all sorts of HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE things to avoid paying them (like faxing something that you can't lol, and because of that they hadn't held up their end) I don't care when it takes place or who the characters are.. Ivalice is my favorite FF world(continent?) so I don't mind if they keep making moar games there. The Age of Ajora came after the Cataclysm that destroyed Ivalice and caused the extinction of the non-human races, but from the description, that doesn't seem to have happened yet. :x But if the Church of Glabados was formed after Ajora's death, then were the Glabados Ruins and the Cache of Glabados in existence prior to FFXII? That's where it gets confusing. :/
My guess is that Ajora is a descendant of whatever Glabados the ruins and cache belonged to. Otherwise, we've got some more timefuckery going on, because the ruins and cache existed prior to Ajora even being born. ._.; Although, that wouldn't entirely surprise me given that the Cache of Glabados is what sends Balthier into the future. :x Shiva.Leonkasai said: » It won't be a Vagrant Story sequel; Vagrant Story takes place after/around FF Tactics, which places it over 1000 years later than this is supposed to be. :x /buzzkill I'm just hoping they don't pull more random time travel out of their *** to get Ashley in like they did with Balthier and Luso in War of the Lions. :/ Wouldn't be surprised if this "lone mercenary" is called a Riskbreaker, though. It would be pretty awesome if it was a Riskbreaker...would fit in with the "lone mercenary" as well since Riskbreakers tend to work alone. Oh.
Here we go. Apparently, a little company called "GRIN" decided to develop Fortress, but SE cancelled the game and refused to pay them. It specifically says something about the Lea Monde area which is the area vagrant story was about.
Despite the time line issues, perhaps Ashley is immortal now or someone from his direct lineage. Either way, if this is a vagrant story game: ^^^ basically lol, I'm pretty sure Ashely is immortal now that he has the Blood-Sin..buuut, this is 10 years after XII which is before VS, like Leon said. So even if Ashely is immortal, unless he can travel through time...it's not gonna be him :(
I really wanted a VS sequel but I'll settle for a prequel lol Oh, For some reason I'd skimmed through that too fast and thought it was said that it was 1k after VS.
Well.. dreams crushed. Yeah I know :/
But even if it's a prequel...I'd still take that so long as it has to do with VS. Looooooooooooooooooonnnnnng overdue. Vagrant story begs for a sequel and I was always disappointing that they never made one. I'd be okay by a prequel, I just hope that it really is VS inspired but without Matsuno, I dunno how close it'll be.
I feel the same way, and because of his abscence I'm really skeptical as to whether or not this is a hoax. VS, at least imo, is Square's best work. Just not sure why they'd wait 12 or 13 years to follow up on it.
From reading the description under the logo, it sounds like it ties pretty much all Ivalice Alliance games (except maybe FFTA and FFTA2...not sure, didn't play those...) The town of St. Ivalice is in the same place as the Ivalice of previous games, but much, much later, and (I assume) after the ban of magick from Vagrant Story has had such an effect that nobody actually remembers that magick is real anymore, and nobody can use it naturally. Of course, the Gran Grimoires are stll around, so there's still some magick left, hence how Mewt creates fake Ivalice and how Luso gets sent back in time to somewhere between Revenant Wings and Tactics. But yeah, doesn't seem to be anything in this game so far that has anything to do with them directly. :x Yep, since I didn't play those I wasn't sure if there was anything mentioned in the description that really connected to Advance and A2.
A lot of it can be connected to the other games though, like Gate of Lucav, Lea Monde, Dalmasca, the logo being damn near the same as VS and so on. |
