Sounds like an FF12 sequel/continuation of sorts.

I'm interested in it already. I loved FF12 and Ivalice.

This reminds me of FFXI a bit.

Really loving the additional connections to FF Tactics and Vagrant Story already. :D

Guess I have a reason to buy Vagrant Story off the PSN now :D

It's all about the Seeq, guys. Sorta like a Wario World meets FFXII.

Christ, FFXII was one of the worst Final Fantasies ever made. The characters were absolutely pathetic, and the storyline was about as simplistic as you can get. This better not be real, or at least not a direct sequel.

Having a say in which race the main character is (and their appearance) would be nice, especially if we're only going to be using them and nobody else throughout the game. But that's not a very Square Enix thing to do so... :x

12 has a lot of negatives but there were also a lot of positives. To me its the most complex FF and hardest to review. Yes, the characters sucked, the story was very stereotypical, but the game was loaded with content, there was so much to do that had zilch to do with the story but was actually fun and engaging.

Wow, FFXII was one of the best Final Fantasies ever made. The characters were blank slates but extremely pimpable, and the mediocre storyline meant less in the face of the great gameplay engine. Hopefully this is real, preferably a sequel of some sort.

The gameplay was simply mind blowing, only RPG that held me off FFXI since FFXI came out, it was basically FFXI offline.

I loved Final Fantasy XII, but consider how Square has run their franchise from genre-defining to just plain Doing it Wrong, I really can't have any optimism for this title.

Isn't this the one that was being made by a Swedish company but because SE refused to pay them they went bankrupt? They said all sorts of HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE things to avoid paying them (like faxing something that you can't lol, and because of that they hadn't held up their end)

Heh same...couldn't find FF12 disc but I did find DQ8 :x looking somewhat forward to Valiant Saga

my FF12 disk is all scratched up and my PS2 has a password on it that we didn't set :( otherwise i'd be all over my PS2.

Viera was the only race(bar humans) you could play in XII, all others were not available. I was so mad. When it came out they were promoting it pointing out it was set in Ivalice...what a let down.

So looking at the concept art aroudn 2:00 in the video, I can't be the only one that thought of Helms Deep XD

I have a feeling that demo video is quite a few years old, as I think I remember seeing it right around the time Ivalice Alliance was originally announced way back when. Course that could also mean SE has just had this in their pocket for a while now.

Based on the description...I almost wonder if (according to the 'official' Ivalice timeline) this is an attempt to explain St. Ajora and his/her ascension into a deity.

That all said now though, Yasumi Matsuno is with Level 5 now. It won't be, isn't, and can't really be an Ivalice game without him as we all remember how the back end of XII ended up after his departure from the project.

The game's title font and the use of the zodiac symbols are no accident either. I'm way more cautious than optimistic right now, especially if YazMat isn't involved at all. I know SE might be hurting for money, and I'm praying they don't abuse the grandness of Ivalice to get it.

O_o how do you put a password on a PS2?

That wouldn't really fit in with the timeline Ivalice has set up so far. :/
The Age of Ajora came after the Cataclysm that destroyed Ivalice and caused the extinction of the non-human races, but from the description, that doesn't seem to have happened yet. :x

Also, just noticed the title font looks very similar to the one used for Vagrant Story. :O

Maybe Ashley Riot from Vagrant Story will make a return.

The title and the logo for it remind me so much of Vagrant Story. My god, I'll cream my pants if it has anything to do with Ashley Riot. Vagrant Story is one of SE's titles that didn't get anywhere near the amount of praise and recognition it deserves.

To this day, I'm still running around with my Rhomphaia and Holy Win Papillion Reeling and Advent Signing things.

It's pretty much the same...especially the T being designed to look like a cross/sword as it was in the Vagrant Story logo.

I dunno though, don't want to get my hopes up lol...I'd kill for a Vagrant Story sequel so it's probably too good to be true.
