Parents that play!
Who else has parents that play with them? I personally play with my mom :)
I've known a few ig that did over the years, only person irl that did their dad abused her...
I don't know many irl that still play as it is... neither of my parents have the brains to operate a game. Chuangtse is my oldest and Daveyprocit is sometimes played by my youngest. Or else we dualbox him. ( +9feet of TVs across the man cave) If not for Chu I would have quit a few years back. All my old social (for +7 years had quit) Now with all the lowman content we are self sufficent and do pretty good work. I know two people on Phoenix that are mom and daughter :o always play together.
I used to play all the time with a girl whose dad and grandma also played with us in ls events and such.
I don't no anyone in RL that plays this unfortunately. Yet most of the ppl i know ingame are parents. (A fact iv always found most interesting)
I also play with my son. bought the game for him as a x-mas gift just after NA release week later bought the game for me and we have been playing together ever since. we have a nice little group between us we both dual box and have been dual boxing for about 8 yrs now.I do want to kill him from time to time but for the most part we have fun !!
My dad used to play until a few years ago, now he's on 14 :P
When our social LS was active, we had "the family."
3 sisters and their husbands and 3 or 4 of the kids all played. Right now only 1 of the husbands and 1 of the kids still play. We also had a son and mother team that played, but it was very rarely at the same time because of work schedules. My son doesn't have his own account, but on the weekends, he plays his Dad's character and makes me ride the airships with him and slaughter things in the starter cities. He is only 6, going on 7, so he's not quite ready to play yet. We (his Dad and I) assume that once he is old enough to start playing MMOs, we will probably start one together. Annewandeing of Lakshmi plays with her husband, at least one of her kids, and at least one of her grandkids. The grandkid introduced her to the game.

My grandma plays games but she doesn't do MMO's. When we were younger, she would buy us each new system that came out and buy any game she liked as it came out and after she was done with it she'd hand it off to us. Final Fantasy's were the exception, she'd buy us our own copy so we didn't have to wait. Quote: My daughter is 7 and she has fun running around teleporting to various zones and slaughtering things but she gets bored unless I get a new piece of gear for her to do a fashion show with. Once upon a time, my family played. Jackie was on this character, I was on my own, and our brother and father also played. We all blame Jackie for getting us hooked on FF11. She started when she was stationed in Italy right at NA release. She got us all into playing as a way to keep in contact with the fam. This was before "social media" was big.
We all played for years together until my brother got his and my characters banned and dad moved back to console games. There is (or was) a few guys running around on Odin named Trege, Sonoftrege, and Sonofsonoftrege, if I remember right. I assume they are a grandfather, father, and son, but I don't personally know them.
My parents unfortunately do not approve of video games. I wasn't allowed to play until I was out of the house, and even now I don't speak to them about it. I have a screenshot photo album of ffxi on my facebook, so I assume they know that I play, but they don't speak to me about it either. My mom-in-law used to badger us a bit because she felt that we played too much. She cut that out when my husband mentioned how she spent 6-8 hours a day on Farmville, hehe. Edit: One of my very first linkshells had a husband and wife duo. The husband passed away a few years ago. I still see the wife sometimes, she's a total sweetie, but I never know what to say to her. What do you tell someone who you know but don't really KNOW when their life partner dies? :-( And of course everyone knows I play with my husband, Rues. He's the one who got me into games. My parents don't play but it was my friend and his mum that got me into FFXI :)
How does anyone spend 8hrs on farmville?? I mean I play Cartown but it's not one of those games that has enough going on to play that long :o

She played Farmville for awhile and Bejeweled Blitz for awhile, and now she's onto Words with Friends. But anyhow. my 7yr old keeps begging to play with me i tell her no lol. Damn this game and its addictiveness! but srlsy i try not to play a lot in front of her to want her to play a lot of games >.>

I met the mom first in an endgame linkshell years ago...don't really remember when I met the son or when I learned they were related but it was in another endgame linkshell..both were def. older than me though. Wasnt like an 8year old and mother or anything.
My parents don't play video games. Though my mother wasn't really allowed to say anything as she nearly abandoned us for a startrek roleplay back in the early days of the internet. (thats kind of exaggeration btw) My gramma is the video game instigator. I tried to get her into FFXI but she was busy playing her other games and couldnt keep up with an mmo. She's the one who introduced us to gaming on the NES and she's the first one who bought the modern gaming console that was the N64 in its heyday and introduced us to modern Zelda. Its all her fault. She's a slow gamer though these days..I still don't think she's beaten twilight princess yet. She has bad arthritis and she baby sits toddlers and rarely gets to play. But she's played like every zelda game except the gameboy ones (cause she cant see the little screens..she did play 4swords though) and hasn't gotten to skyward sword yet. I wonder if the wii might be easier to control for her but I don't know. She's also played a couple modern mario games, dark clouds 1 & 2, FF7, FF9..think she played legend of dragoon... I think she'd like FFX (she hated ff8) and 12...I really wanted her to try kingdom hearts though because its more of the zelda type hacknslash adventure game...I keep trying to get her to hurry up and play these before she dies and when I tell her this she gives me a funny look. :| For us it is myself, Cercie, and her Mom Samhain all side by side across 2 dual screen PCs and an Xbox (till I build Cerc a pc). My oldest has a character on Sams account but like most of the younger kids mentioned above she just runs around the starter areas melee style with no real clue. Sam has been a gamer from back in the Atari 2600 days so at least has half a clue what it going on.
husband and I met in game. We're having a baby next week and have every intention of getting our daughter to play this as soon as she's able. we figure farming for us or fishing lol

When I moved to Ragnarok recently I had to change some mule names and did a switcharoo and me and Chuangtse thought of Daveyprocit. He lives up to it for sure in both Abby and VW. Its a button masher and would kill her hands LOL (speaks from experience) Later Eca PS Chu is now 17 and a very good player. With my memory of misc facts and his strat we do really well lowman. |
