So I've found that A2 goblin farming is STILL better then starting on belial, killing 5 elites, and killing belial. Especially since they nerfed bosses

Item drops are pretty messed up atm with all the acts really. There's no point in farming 5 stacks of NV then killing stuff in act 2 and 3 unless you can totally faceroll it. Its probably more efficient to just farm act 1 inferno. Iono how you farm or anything but the way I farm, my path I take, yields about 15~23 elite packs in roughly 25~30 minutes of time spent.

That's weird about the watch tower. It's one of the few dungeons that's never spawned for me (one of two or three in act 1 I think). Also, do I just suck a lot (I did just get to Inferno recently) or is his damage insanely high?

that wizard? in the vid? pretty much if you got a decent dps, wizards become op with their arcane mode or w/e it is.

Yup that vid is what I have been doing, minus the watch tower, I didn't know about that place having a poopload of champs. I'll start throwing that into the mix as well.

Also wizard, but my dps is only around 12k currently. I looked at some of his other videos and it looks like my weapon is sort of close to on par with his, but he has about 800-900 INT more than me, lol. My damage isn't a huge problem, I really need to work on my resists and armor because I keep getting hit for far too much. Most mobs melee for 4-5k and some things like molten and arcane can kill me from full health in about one second (~35k hp). I'm trying to swap out some of my heavy VIT gear for resist gear and more INT. Probably time to gold farm Hell, lol.

EDIT: I've made it to the butcher, but after repeated attempts I can't survive the part when his life drops below 15% (or perhaps it's more time based, but I don't think so) or so and the entire floor becomes fire more or less permanently. It looks like there's 1 block that's not burning during that period, but it's still glowing orange from cool-down/ charge up so it can be difficult to spot (that and the one safe place might not actually be on screen at the time).

I guess I damage him rather consistently then because it always happens around the same hp amount. It would really help if I could change my abilities up to better suite a single target, but then I'd have no NV.

Forgot I started writing this and went and bought some things on the AH. It was surprisingly cheap to buy some resist all armor with decent INT to keep my damage about the same (MF suffered, but I don't think it's as important as I thought it was). Looks like I was being gear checked. After switching out my rings and shoulder armor it was a breeze (added about 180 resist all).

I'm pretty sure there is ALWAYS a champ or elite pack of cultists outside the Leoric's manor front door after u go down the large stair case. Back towards the hunting grounds.

Hey I play single most of the time because I really don't trust joining other people or being joined. What with some people getting their accounts broken into. But if there's anyone want wants to do friend only games I'm up for that.

It is impossible to be hacked by people joining your game. Those saying so were just stupid trolls, or those who read some crap on a forum and believed every word.

But I completely understand not joining games with other people, I don't like having to carry someone who goes AFK 5 minutes into the game, for half an hour. Which seems to happen whenever I group up with other people.

I read they hack forum sites for their members email and passwords, then try to login D3 with them. People who are naive enough to use the same combination of email and password when registering to a forum.

I was smashing some A1 outa boredom, nothing of great value ever really drops. Think the best I got was some 660dps, IAS, 400loh sword before moving on.

That's pretty much the logical way of it happening. It's not a coincidence that every person who says they joined a Public game and got hacked afterwards, didn't have an authenticator.

I have a friend who was hacked who's PC has to have a few levels of security due to him doing some work from home. He uses randomly generated multi-digit alphanumeric passwords.
There were several reports of people who even had mobile authenticators and the tokens similar to the ffxi one (although with phishing, those still aren't foolproof).

I'm not saying that these cases were the norm, i just want to point out that not all of them were "stupid trolls" (although how many were stupid, I don't know).

i guess so. he was spamming me his convos with the GMs and essentially the 5th tier customer service person gave some serious political answers. I mean at the end of the day until they solve they problem, if one of their employees says anything out of line theyre fired, ie "yeah omg psn was totally compromised and they have everyones CC#" said by a Sony employee would be career suicide.

Long story short: if it's conceivable to hack a forum's server, d3 isnt that much more secure. If you're still skeptical look up how many network techs, etc activision/blizzard have signed on in the past 3 weeks. They *** up left and right and they're stalling in-game and out to stop the bleeding.

It's not the D3 official forums that was hacked, it's the fan sites and what not that was.

Isn't or wasn't blizzard forums that were said to be hacked. It's fan based created ones. Along with HELP I AM TRAPPED IN 2006 PLEASE SEND A TIME MACHINE people going to gold buying sites and giving info directly or keylogged.

Not to say bizzard couldn't be hacked no matter what they say it is possible. Would someone go to the effort to do it not likely. It would just be bad for business bringing unwanted attention at least from a gold selling standpoint. Because it goes both ways. Blizzard can be hacked but hackers can be traced. Another great myth. They can never track my programs or coding. Last guy that bragged that same sh*t was caught by the FBI in 2 days.

As far as hiring more staff anyone in their right mind would say that is logical. Which has helped some.

I wasn't implying that it was their official forums. I just meant "theyre both servers". People were DDOS'ing the ***out them the first couple weeks without repercussions. It's not like blizzard has a crack team of internet security officials.

The "with authenticator" hacks were occuring in WoW too. Even when you link your account to an auth token you have to agree to a ToS saying "blah blah no guarentee". After your first of 2 rollbacks you HAVE to link a token to your account (not just mobile auth) to use the RMAH (thats what the cust rep said anyhow. could be wrong) and agree to a ToS that basically says "not held responsible for the ***that happened to you before or from now on" etc.

They don't even have a police policy in effect. Obviously you'd get banned for hacking an account but other than that blizzard has no motivation to pursue legal action if you do. Basically, you can rape an account / send all the items and gold to your account (since you need a thingy to remove funding to a paypal) / sell it from your account. If you get banned, you probably cleared at least 10-15 accounts beforehand ie paid for d3 plus a couple hundred dollars. Blizzard has to pay legal fees to come after you so it's no use to them to pursue it until the revenue lost from people quitting exceeds the capital required to perform legal action.

tl;dr: Video games have been less about "your entertainment", and more about "making more money over time for less capital", every year. RMAH is going to further this like never before. Whatever gets them the largest amount of $15 cut without causing everyone to stop playing too soon...... Too easy? Short life span. Farming pots? Gold market depreciates item value and makes less money for BAE.

That being said: I'll still be playing. :/
