Like if it has attack speed on it, is that calculated or something I'd have to calculate on my own The DPS on the weapon includes the damage and attack speed (so increased attack speed is included), but things like STR, DEX, or INT are not. When you scroll over it and it has the little green +numbers or red -numbers, that includes all stats on the weapon. So a weapon can have lower DPS, but still be stronger. It's been driving me crazy that on this play through I've found a black mushroom, rainbow liquid, and a gibbering gemstone all without trying! Yeah... it took me forever to get my rainbow and gemstone, and now that I dont need them anymore I keep on seeing them pop up.

What does the staff of herding do? I know it unlocks whimsyshire, but I don't have any idea what that is either. Also, Can someone post either how to get the items for it or a website I can use to look it up? Thanks in advance Whimsyshire is basically a secret level with lots of loot that is about one notch higher in difficulty than your current difficulty level.
You need the Staff of Herding in order to enter it. This page has all the info you need about building one. anyone else rolling a hardcore character?
Have been playing a hardcore barb. On hiatus tho 'cause my duo partner is away.
i'm doing barb as well :S, just got to act 2 on normal... took a big break after beating act 1 inferno on my hunter D:
Yea, breaks are pretty much required for this game tbh. Maybe it's just me, but it kinda wears on the nerves eventually.
Just started my second HC character -- finding myself doing a lot of private games though this time around. My last character died at lvl 60 on Act 2 Inferno. Was doing fine farming some of the easier areas for gobs and decided to progress in the story a little. About halfway through the act I opened the game to public. No one joined for the longest time until I was midfight with 2 groups of tough mobs (unique hoarder + 4 champs) with stupid abilities. The mobs went from not to bad to whoop my arse in about 15 seconds :-(
Doing a DH this time around. ~46 now, and so far pretty easy with cheap gears off the AH. Like always, the thunder ball clears entire rooms in a few seconds at these levels. Could probably start playing Hell now but hanging out in Nightmare for the time being gathering gold. Selling low to mid level HC gears gets a decent amount on the AH quickly. how does one post a pic of an item from d3 on here?
print screen -> paste -> crop -> upload -> post ?
I fight for Poupee

I dont think those notes are real.
"- Some people exploited the game by using geography to their advantage; monsters now will walk through walls and follow the player nonstop until death. In addition, champion monsters now come with maphack and ability to use waypoints."
I dunno sounds legit. Though if attack speed is really getting nerfed that bad my DH will cry a little. Guess will have to see how inferno mobs play out. Hope that haven't learned "balance" yet from the ffxi crew... Cause they are getting the nerf part down pretty good. I just lost a lvl 53 Monk in Act 1 Hell.. Vortex usually isn't too bad but a champ pack with 4 of the fat guys that blow up vortex you in for 2 explosions at a time.. not good lol.
Anyone know anything about a drop rate for the staff of hearding plans? Been farming normal Diablo without any success. Also tried Izual with no results.

Also tried Izual with no results. You can buy the plans for 1 gold from the merchant after beating Izual on that mode i.e normal nightmare etc. Not unless they patch it may have as I bought all from the npc. Also think I lied about having to kill Izual for the merchant to sell the plans. I never killed him on Inferno I just used glitch to get to diablo fight friend wanted to kill it and bought the plans after.
Row is right, you can not buy the initial plans, they only drop from Izual, though you can get them on any difficulty.
The reason you were able to buy them (the higher level ones) using the glitch is because Izual is a part of the storyline, so if you skip killing him the game acts as though you did and you can then buy the plans for that difficulty. I was also able to do this after I accidentally quickjoined a friend when I was trying to view his profile. |
