Diablo 3
I think the damage is dealt has 200-500 fire damage, on top of the blizzard damage.

I wish the people on my friend's list would realize that no, I don't want you to join my game without asking. You will piss me off cause I will have to carry you, and I will act like an *** in the hopes that you will leave. It's stupid I can't kick people out....
(Yes I know there's a setting to disable quick join. It keeps resetting and I sometimes forget to re-do it) Yeah I agree and it always happens at the worst times. It will be while in a large group of mobs or something and bam they joined mobs get stronger and I get pawned.
Though its a two sided sword for me. With my lag I often have to join public games just to progess in the story and I become the leech. I feel bad because the lag can be so bad a times that I am completely useless and I am sure it gives the impression that this clown has no skill in others eyes. It sucks but sadly I have no other choice at times. Well other than what I have said before that I have to completely over gear to combat the lag. Though I do clearly state when I join that I have a lag issue and no harm done if they kick me because it's understandable. Honestly just wish I had the extra cash to buy a new comp because I am sure its the problem and not the coding or w/e that others have. What's your ping when you're lagging?
Generally terrible at all times. Few times I get down to maybe 60-70 in game latency. Though generally it sits at 200+. But it seems to be act dependent. Like I find certain areas where I could be at 400 latency and the game still runs perfect. Such as Act 3 The Breached Keep. I can run that all day long without a lag issue unless I step in town to repair.
Not being a tech focused person I would guess its the comp and not server overcrowding/coding/internet speed. Because I could log into ffxi right now open 5 characters up and not lag at all short of maybe during cleaves when I do hit random patches of lag but usually its my internet acting up i.e. a storm coming through or something. *edit* give me a minute and I will run speedtest again to. Trying to make my son some lunch. But I think the last time it was at 25ish. What are your computer specs if you think it is your computer not your internet?
Diablo is not a very intensive game to run. I have lag issues too, it's because of the graphic card in my case...mobs that I think I'm shooting from far away suddenly appear in front of me :| makes it a bit tricky when I want to kite lol <.<

Some answers finally Also something i found interesting, "1.9% of characters have unlocked Inferno difficulty" Phoenix.Sehachan said: » I have lag issues too, it's because of the graphic card in my case...mobs that I think I'm shooting from far away suddenly appear in front of me :| makes it a bit tricky when I want to kite lol <.< That's not graphic lag, that's latency lag. Graphic lag would be where everything is stuttering. Here is an example of graphic lag Latency lag is where if you were to click on a specific area in the game, there would be a delay between you clicking and your character moving. (This can also be input lag, but 99% of the time that's not the case) With Diablo 3 there are two possibilities: The over saturation of servers is causing an increase in response time between client and server, which I honestly don't see. Then there's #2 where the servers are struggling so much there's packet loss which is why you sometimes run and randomly fly backwards. The packet holding your new location was lost, so the server puts you back to the last location it had in it's list. Well, my latency is fine, but my fps is utterly horrible.
The only issue I have with Diablo's performance is its immense reliance on the GPU. I'll never understand why they never split the GPU:CPU reliance properly so that both pieces of hardware are used appropriately. No reason my GPU should be at 60%~100% usage (depending on where I cap the FPS) and my CPU is only at 10~20%.
I dunno, makes it easier to multi-task?
I'm running a GTX 570, and rarely get above 65% load (that I notice anyway). mine only goes above 60 if I open the taps on the FPS to go to 160+, but still, I would like if my CPU were better utilized. I don't have much need to run anything aside from Firefox, some IM clients, and maybe Winamp when I'm playing a game... and that doesn't even touch my CPU.
What video card are you using, Proth? I'm using a Radeon HD 5770 and I can run everything at max, with AA on, and have non-stop 60 FPS with only like 60% of my GPU being used (at most). Is your GPU or CPU a lot newer then the other? It'll create a bottle neck if that's true, that's what was happening with my 5770 until I upgraded my CPU.
Like I said it's only if I increase the FPS limit to well in excess of 100FPS... I can run 60FPS with absolutely no problems. I'm running a 480GTX< which for all intent and purposes is the same as a GTX570 outside of power consumption and temperature, and I'm on well above stock clocks. I'm not bottlenecking on that. My CPU is actually a little weak, an AMD 1090t, but I have a 2500k coming in on Wed. to remedy that issue.
It's literally only a problem at extremely high FPS that don't really matter in any real world setting, but still, it annoys me that the game doesn't utilize my CPU. My 14 fps rocks!
There's really nothing wrong with the 1090t/GTX480 combo unless you got the 2500k for cheap.
Just bump up the clocks on the 1090t to 4GHz or so and you should be fine. I have a bad chip, it doesn't go above 3.6
I got the 2500k + a nice mobo for $250 so I can't complain about the price. That could be problematic. I had issues with my FX-8120 not wanting to run stable at first. AMDs just take a little more finesse with OC'ing then intel. But now I'm running at 4440 (18.5 x 240 bus) with no issues after dicking with it enough.
But I will admit, for a gaming PC intel is king. Never really been a fan of AMD GPUs though. They always have amazing potential, and then get crapped all over and never have up to date drivers. (Looking at you 7970). And that is a pretty decent deal on a CPU + MoBo. yeah I'll probably drive it up to 4.5GHz for now, shouldn't have much issues, these chips are amazing for OC.
Blah, I can't pass Act II Inferno on Demon Hunter. Anyone got any tips? >_<
