Moonshade/Brutal combo is only useful for CDC when your attack is high enough to use Requiescat anyway or so close to floor that you shouldn't even be engaged to begin with.

For what it's worth, Infrasonics being both a Lizard and an Ice spell lands pretty often on Muyingwa(Wind and Vermin) for -25 evasion.

new to blu what do i need to do to get spells faster spam low lvl spells on mobs or kill as fast as i can or hold mob for a long time?
been in aby for 4 hours fcing tonberrys and only seen what i need used once

If you're 99 and trying to learn low level spells, your best bet is to sub RDM and spam Dia on them. For mid to high level mobs, just take off your weapons hand to hand them, casting multi-hit spells like bludgeon if they have the HP to support it. Chances are you'll miss a lot, but when you connect with a spell, each hit feeds up to 10 TP. Dia feeds a similar amount of TP each cast as well.

You need hands when the spell finishes, body can be worn before like fast cast. Physical spells typically are very fast so you don't need a fc build since you will end up casting in it.

Body needs to be on at start, hands at the end. Casting time wouldn't work very well if the spell has already been cast before the body was equipped! Recast time will be factored in at the same time as fast cast and haste at the end of the cast.


You do not need precast gear for physical spells, they're fast as it is and trying to use it will likely cause problems with getting WSC gear on in time.

Occultation and sudden lunge/retinal glare are the main ones. SL only necessary when things start partial resisting. Im sure theres more spells that also benefit from recast though. Like buffs when fighting mobs that can dispel.

most good casting hands have haste on them now, recast isn't a big issue outside of a few spells that you'll ever cast.

New CDC v Requiescat Guidelines

Bored, so recalculated based on RoE gear and stuff.


Ideal gear:
If Requiescat ratio is less than 1.58, then Chant du Cygne is superior. This will occur if you have only limited buffs/debuffs (Salisbury steak, nat. meditation, frightful roar, dia II) on a target with 850DEF or more. Any normal mob probably doesn't have this much, however things in Kamihr might.

Less than ideal gear:
If Requiescat ratio is less than 1.5, then Chant du Cygne is superior. This occurs with the same buffs/debuffs as before, on a target with 840DEF or more.




The less than ideal set features loads of RoE gear, so it's hard to go lower tier than that and thus I'm not going to bother. Suffice to say, you need to find a pretty strong target with very little buffs/debuffs to get CDC to be better than Requiescat almost regardless of your current gear setup. Once you add in BRD songs, COR rolls, Berserk, etc., CDC drops off very quickly. Things like VD AAs may have high enough stats to push CDC over Requiescat regardless of buffs, however I haven't got any figures to base that off of.

Do you take skillchains into consideration with how many people use light SC based WS? I would think that favors CDC even more.

That's based on situation, so I can't really put it into a raw comparison of the weaponskills. If you're getting loads of unresisted Light skillchains out of CDC, or helping someone else get them, then yeah that'd affect things. MNKs come to mind mostly. Issues arise when you consider the possibility of differeing weaponskill frequency leading to skillchains not occurring due to CDC (either a missed SC window or someone else skillchaining instead of you), or other such variables. Eventually, CDC's average just becomes so much lower than Req's that the increased frequency of SC matters less. You'll still be making some skillchains with Req as well, so that also needs to be considered.

Most likely yes. But you can obtain more shadows per given period of time by reducing recast instead of pushing into the 500 skill range. This does increase the amount of mp you're using over time, but occultation is so expensive that its never worth using when mp starved anyways. There's also aoe moves to consider, further benefiting recast over the 10th shadow.

Occultation should've totally been Utsusemi like the monster version. Overall, Cocoon often provides much, much, much better MP:Damage Mitigation over time. Occultation's only really worth it if you're not being targeted by AoEs frequently, plan to make use of Evasion, or have a high source of MP replenishment. Trying to maintain it throughout a fight could be damaging resources that you could better use elsewhere.

No and no, but the difference isn't massive on the hands. I weigh WS, TP, and DR gear as the most important sets and always give them the most space in my inventory. Depending on circumstances, even as little as 2MND can be worth 20~50 avg. damage due to Requiescat's high WSC and massive http://fTP.

Don't see how the mirke body would be better when it has more useful applications with 10EVA not being very good, and Athos head is not better unless you finish casting in the FC hat instead of a 7% haste head which you should not be doing (or 8% from assimilator +1 if you carry it, lithelimb if you have it).

If you're using GearSwap, items can be identified by augment so Hagondes Coat with +5 fast cast is the top fast cast piece (with bonus haste!!). If you're not using GearSwap, then you should be looking into using GearSwap.

*Was unsure if you wanted it changed from physical to magical, but I assumed that you did. Easy enough to fix if not.
*Blazing Bound uses MDB in place of MAB, unsure if you have a tag for that.
*SoA spells have no WSC, defaulted them to INT for dINT.
*Some of these are difficult to decide between effect and damage. If the spell has a useful effect, I defaulted it to effect.
