BLU wont get a prot/shell give it a rest. BLU is a combat mage and we forgo long-lasting buffs for higher potency albeit shorter duration buffs(with very few exceptions i.e Animated Wail). Instead of Protect, we get Cocoon/Harden Shell, instead of Shell we get Saline Coat and Magic Barrier. Our buffs tend to be more potent than mage versions but shorter duration because we're front line jobs. If they gave us a Prot/Shell, then most BLUs would set those spells, cast them for the 30m duration, then change out, which is exactly what SE doesn't want. SE has us changing spell sets for 'roles' not for individual buffs(hence the 1m penalty). If mighty guard did happen it would be a UL spell that gives us some kind of 1minute Phalanx/Regen or something. Doubt it would give everyone prot/shell/haste that would make it by and far the most useful UL spell and would pretty much have to be casted every time its up because it would be that awesome.

If we ever were to get a Mighty Guard or whatever, it would be a Phalanx/Regen or a Def+MDB boost. I wish there was a Lifebreak spell like in old ffs. Could be an inverse breath. Does more damage with lower HP.

For stuff like sanguine its extremely easy for you to test this yourself, like it is comparing 2 pieces of gear for blm nukes. Should be af3+2 though.

You can solo all plan nms in AR2 as thf/dnc, or duo full run with a sch/rdm in about 65-80mins, not sure about blu. As for SSR ive tried to duo that thf/dnc and sch/rdm it was a bit tighter on time and cursed on the boss in mdt gear I ate a 878 blizz5 when I only had 800ish hp. Some of ssr would be possible for sure as blu, you can kite the orobon easy but it does hit like a truck. Remember you need to link one set of two ramparts floor 2 to get the monk fomor and the windwaker nm to pop this could be quite overwhelming for a solo blu.

Hello,
There is any chance to get the spell section updated with sets for reives? I am trying to do some as blu and I am having troubles deciding which spells to chose.
Thank you in advance.

Okay, please forgive my repeated silly questions, but is there possibly any calculator on the differences between haste and fast cast? I'm planning on working on Apademak soon, and I want to improve my fast cast set so I can reliably solo stun with temporal shift and stun from /drk.

What improvements should be made from this set? If I understood the math side of the game better I wouldn't have to ask stuff like this, so apologies in advance.

ItemSet 298771

Body is 4% and neck is 2%.

Sorry, but could you explain why witful overtakes twilight? I've been trying to build a stun set for SCH as well, and after reading through Sawtelle's guide, he actually has Goading beating witful, saying that at higher haste values the haste will do more.

I am so confused on this stuff, apologies.

I suppose it's personal preference, I like the occasional insta-casts on stuns. Witful has 3% fast cast and 3% chance of quick casting on top of the 3% haste.

I don't actually know the math but I think you want haste when you're ending the spell and fastcast when you are first casting it.

The spell has a very short casting time though, you would end up casting in precast gear.

Try to get your hands on Hedera Cotehardie, MACC+10 Haste+5%, relatively common drop off Morta (I went 1/1 on it)

No I don't plan on soloing it, I just want to be able to be a primary stunner. I will have a whm/blm and drk along with me, I just want to hold my own for stuns.

Yeah I know it's pretty crappy. I'm poor and have horrid luck in VW, so I'm very limited on proper gear.

Heres my Macc set, I only really use of for subbed enfeebles when I don't have set points spare to cover something with blue magic. Fairly decent accuracy rate.
Since stun is from sub, your really gonna want to blast as much macc as possible as a resist in full FC/Recast gear is gonna do nothing for you at all and you'll be reliant on T Shift all the time anyway so why even bother with /DRK in that case?
ItemSet 298276
32 sec recast stun. (without fc trait/atma)

Cast TShift in full haste gear with FC thrown in anywhare else.
ItemSet 298789
~47 sec recast. (without fc trait/atma)

2 stuns every 50 sec should more than cover it.

Edit: 1% haste is = 2%FC for recast times. If you can only get 5%FC in a slot you cant get 3% or more haste in, use the haste to fill that slot until you cap haste in your set. (Assuming you are fine accuracy wise).

Do the Efflux / CA gears need to be worn when casting the spell? Or just when using the ability? I could've sworn you needed to have them on FOR the spell, but it doesn't seem to me that Proth's XML does that.

reading the XML wrong. it checks if you have CA or Efflux active and equips the kavuk/tayt if so.

Yeah I know it's pretty crappy. I'm poor and have horrid luck in VW, so I'm very limited on proper gear.

Not gear related, but use Merciless Matriarch atma on it. 50 macc and 7.5 fast cast. Also keep yourself hasted. On Whm/Blm with MM, MM, Apoc, basic fast cast set and minimal macc I was able to fairly reliably stun Apa. I think he only leveled up 2-4 times while getting my 75 horns and I think were related to loosing focus rather than stun missing. I'm not saying dont use macc gear, but Merciless Matriarch is more macc (with bonus FC) than all the macc gear Blu has combined.

His pattern is very consistent. Spell > ja > spell > ja repeating till dead. Obviously uses regular attacks at some rate in between spells and ja. The ja are not life threatening if you have a decent whm, so are not 100% necessary to stun. Sometimes you may get lucky if you miss a stun and the spell target will be party not himself, but dont count on that. If he levels up im not sure if it changes his pattern, but obviously fulmination (a ja) becomes another thing to stun.

Well if I have to use something other than almace for a while while they figure out how to update them... At least that weapon looks awesome.

I wonder if it'll be some sort of progression, must have camatlatia first?
