More like "don't care" as the players will determine if this event becomes the next VW or if it'll be chocobo racing 3.0.

I keep checking to see if some impressive lootpools show up that spark interest but hearing about wave 2 being so overpowered, this is definitely where Arise comes from when SE mentioned "difficult to obtain".

I go sam/war to legion and rarely die. We do KB first. Just straight zerg. Then move to Aspid, I sc whoever has tp and anybody that can nuke tries to MB. We had 2 drk a thf and me in sam were only fd for tutrtle, took is about 7 min to kill. Then moved to Nid which the pld holding had it flying already. Nuke it down then zerg rush till dead. The tier 2 mobs are insane though. T2 KB cast curse spikes then followed with meteor for alliance wipe and we exited. A whm and rdm for dd party was enough to keep everyone alive for the most part.
is this 18 or 36 person?

18 group

edit: The PLD holding Nid is aegis pld that has tried Cdc, Requiscat and KoR and said KoR was the strongest against that mob. Part of how he got it down so far solo.

there must be an extreme difference in mob difficulty between 18man and 36man and not just 36man being easier to clear the whole chamber cause I was hitting maybe 300-500 cdcs on the wyrm bergressor'd and sushi and it was no where near flying by the time turtle was dead which took our group even longer than it took your 18man

Would be nice to see some parses of damage and HP on these mobs between 18 and 36 man.

I've done both 18 and 36 group and, to me, 18 is way easier. Atleast against the T1's.

Looks like people will need to learn how to use support roles again instead of just going with mass DD, the occasional brd or cor if you can find one, and a few healers. Or in the case of VW, just spamming temp items that make them invincible or near invincible. And if people are going to complain about loot being harder to get, isn't this what everyone has been complaining about to be fixed from abyssea? Loot is "too easy" to get and it only takes a few days to make an emp so "I don't feel special with my awesome gear no one else has but me" Either they have to make it completely based on your solo gaming abilities for gear, or you have to provide no skill and just get lucky with lots in mass groups (or holding on to your leaders *** in some cases). Either way, someone isn't going to be happy and the masses will cry loud enough like always. Squeaky wheel gets greased first.
^this...but you'll get flamed if you try to tell people they *** and they receive then *** some more.

it seems easy if youdont get the WHM's and supports that think you have temps to get rid of everything and heal you. 0/3 cause a WHM didnt curebomb me and RDM was dicking around D:

edit: 18 man on khima/cerb/hydra and vamp/coarse/dverger rooms...i see that ill prolly have to get a LS to do 36 man.

Hi guys, just leaving my two cents. Those that are good PUPs should consider going as it ot legion cause it works great for it. My puppet in parser did 2500+ per nuke on turtle, outdmging the other BLMs by a lot. In total my puppet did 35k dmg total in turtle and the other BLM next to get closer in dmg did 15k total. Also the nukes are hate free using the activate > deactivate strat, so, no need to run or kite or take hate off the kiter of the turtle.

Also is good in jormy and behe cause it can change to RNG or melee or WHM in one minute adjusting to every situation. And for those that say that it have no survability, SE just fixed the analyzer attachment so that it can remove 40% of the total dmg of a special move done by a mob. So, if an attack do 1000 to a PC, to the puppet with the analyzer attachemt will just receive 600.

Ppl should try it, is great in legion.

I personally think people just got too used to turning off their brains during Abyssea time. As soon as the strategy is cracked, Legion will fall like every other event in FFXI.

Well, except AV... I don't think anyone still figured out how to kill him "Right"? As in 75cap? Trading cheese sandwiches to the Ebon Panels didn't work apparently.

Comparing abyssea to Legion is only a relevant analogy if you assume you're fighting 7 glavoids at once (at original lvl 80 cap), with no cruor/hp/mp/temp item buffs, and with only 1 stone carrying capacity.

Not that I'm overstating Legion, just don't think the comparison of "how easy it will be later" is accurate. SE will have to fundamentally alter the event (HP of mobs, duration of chambers) to make it more doable.

However, I'm not of the opinion that it's not doable yet, and I'm certain we'll see some full clears (2 waves + chamber boss) here soon. That being said, there are 2 things that need to be fixed if SE wants this event to succeed:

1. Decrease the HP of the mobs to manageable levels. (we'll most likely see this eventually, as in Einherjar)

2. Add drops/point items that are worth a flying f*ck. This is the single biggest problem with the event. I actually LIKE that it's pretty difficult, even for a good LS. My problem is motivation. Why should I take my LS (and combine with other LSs for common 36 runs) for chances at mostly side grade and useless armor? No melee in any shell of note isnt packing a relic/empy/mythic, so the weapon drops are worthless. The armor is situationally sidegraded or obsolete.

Other than novelty/fun factor, there is no motivation to Legion. And due to the current HP factors, attendance and interest will drop off fast.

I hope SE responds quickly, so this event survives. On a pessimistic note though, I don't see them adding anymore drops (can't think of a single event they've added drops too, in order to make it more relevant).

I don't recall even close to the level of difficulty compared to Kings, Salvage, Einherjar, Dynamis, Limbus, Sky (Yes I was playing even before Sky) or even Nyzul introductions. Players mastered that Abyssea at an unprecedented pace. I'll spare people the unimpressive self congratulatory ***.

Of course, I'm not blind to the fact that the level cap updates kind of ruined the balance in the game. Since SE had to simultaneously develop stronger players, with stronger monsters. As opposed to taking the 75cap limits (Such as level correction checks) for granted.

I want to make it clear I'm not supporting Soul-deadening drop rates. Just overall difficulty of the event. (Monster strength and what-have-you). If anything, abysmal drop rates are detrimental to a "Mass" Event, since the potential reward ratio is total ***.

I was mostly joking with the Abyssea comment, but I agree with this post 100%.

In particular, the point items are just terrible. Einherjar point items might as well be Relics by comparison.

I'm expecting adjustments too. The HP pools on the second waves are ridiculous.

As for drops, I think it's premature to conclude anything about motivation down the road yet. If we go by the items still undiscovered in the DATs, there are some superior mage pieces (and I assume Arise comes from the Paramount chamber or something). Sure, some of the melee pieces are sidegrades/minor improvements, but we all know even "sidegrades" can be heavily desired (has stuff like Drachenhorn been discovered, for example)? Also remember people spam VW hundreds of times for sidegrades. For better or for worse, we are in the age of sidegrades and minor improvements. I doubt they will introduce anything which represented progression on the level of Emp +2 armor. Many players will still want these items to tweak out their jobs, just as people dropped millions for +1 or +2 STR back in the day.

I think people are rankling more at the EFFORT for those sidegrades, which I COMPLETELY agree is herculean with the event in its current state. But that will be decreased once the event is tweaked and it falls more in line with peoples' expectations for effort vs. reward.

I'll hold my breath on Drachenhorn - if the 5% is added to base attack, then it's a very situational and insignificant sidegrade. Like going from Haubergeon+1 -> Hauberk+1 for less -EVA.

Sidegrades are usually heavily desired if and only if they have new, interesting models to boast (Read: Voidwatch bodies, Drachenhorn). Also, I've said it before and I'll say it again, WHM and SMN pieces don't sustain events!

A lot of the current 'undiscovered' gear was labelled "Voidwatch" in the test server DATs before the update was released, and thus will come from Provenance.

The only standout mage gear I saw labelled legion were two pairs of avatar enhancing pants from Legion.

We did, I believe, KI room last night. The Cerb Khim Hydra room. First attempt was a fail. We tried to have plds hold cerb and hydra while zerg khim. Second attempt we cleared T1. Set up 3 balanced parties and had every pt fight their own mob. 18 man strat btw. As for T2, we used same strat. When we wiped, we had Cerb at 66%, khim was at 89 and hydra at 92%. 2x belt with haste 4 fire resist 25 dropped.

I don't think the "interesting models" thing applied to sidegrades/minor improvement gear pre-VW era, which people still sought. You listed Drachenhorn but unless someone discovered it, that could still be Legion. As could A'as Circlet, a standout mage piece, or Adamas/Sanus Ensis which PLD's may want for Cure macros, or Esper Earring. Also, unsure at this point how good the augmentation of the new abjuration armor will be, the Synergy of which requires item from the event. There are other undiscovered pieces for jobs I don't play so I won't comment on the usefulness of the rest. Moral of the story is, ***'s very premature at the moment.

I thought the stuff labeled "CRYSTAL" in the DATs was Provenance, unless they changed that.

In any event, I still agree the effort/reward ratio is unbalanced at the moment but hopefully tweaks will happen. I'm not worried about motivation in my LS though, because any balanced LS switches up events to reward different people/jobs in the roster.

Pretty sure Legion is gonna follow WoE where no r.ex items come from it and all can be sold/bazaared, as well as all of Legions equips being 96-98, and being some form of armor.

We still don't know where Body and Feet abjuration come from, Bodies could come from Legion and Feet from Provenence, but with no recorded boss clears in any of the Legion chambers yet, we can't say for sure what to expect as the final loot pool.

It's either that or Pawn/Rook/Bishop/Queen/King drops feet and Crystal Dragon has all the crystal items and body abjurations, there is also the matter of Scarletite Ingot yet to be crafted / discovered how to obtain, but with every other crafting material being obtained through some mob or in voidwatch, I think it's safe to say that Provenence will hold that one.

If no R.Ex items that I saw come from Legion, then I will agree the rewards need to be rethought. I guess I assumed the final bosses in each chamber have the R.Ex stuff.

Is Auspex stuff from the Hexed/craftable stuff? Haven't seen any indication.
