Most folks are really cool in game. Therefore I am sure they are in RL. But as anywhere. You have douches in the lot to.

I'd say I play a JP character, but I'm interacting with people so this cannot be true.

It's safe to say that It's a lot easier to come out of your shell on the internet.. Personally I find myself shy and not as out going as I'd like to be when I first meet people and I'm sure its the same for lots of people on these forums.. With that aside I can say with confidence nothing about me changes when I log on FFXI or any other online games.. If you feel you need to act like a douche bag on the internet then I feel sorry for you =\ Don't be fake people!

Biggest difference: online I talk.
I'm not just shy, in rl if I speak 2 words in a day is a big achievement, online instead I can throw all of the useless chattiness more easily. Most likely cause I'm less scared of people online, everyone is just reading me, not actually piercing me with their eyes and looks of their faces that I don't understand(someone might remember that I have social skills deficiency).
That being said, however I still fail to convey my emotions online as much as in rl simply cause I'm a plain noob at conversations. 90% of the people online think I'm always angry when I'm not actually, it's just that I'm not used to conversations, I chose the wrong words, and wrong tone(none in rl - in fact people always tell me I'm cold or disinterested, or "angsty" online)...I swear I'm a very docile person, I'm just doinitwrong.

I'm a bit different on the game for some reason...I'm much more aggressive while playing FFXI. Some people fear me lol.

Why are you quiet though? I'm quiet in real life, but it's because I have Social Anxiety Disorder. Talking to people I don't know terrifies me greatly.

I love to talk to people. Met some real great folks out there. You have nothing to lose. If there jerks . Just smile and move on!!

Ngh...I wouldn't want to go into deeper details on a public thread, but I'm literally not able to interact with people properly. I'm trying to improve but I'm still very very far from being high level enough for the real world.

.....Hmmm...well, I suppose my internet persona is just as shy as my real life one. Even if I know that I have something meaningful to add, I rarely will. It's the main reason why I lurk on the site. Too damn shy to say anything. Sucks, but it is what it is. Oh well, /wave flee /hide.
