I will be enforcing a filesize limit of avatars to 500 KBytes or 512,000 Bytes.
This should only affect users will animated gifs. Please check your avatars and make the appropriate adjustments. They may get removed before you read this message though.

Avatars are forced to 100x100 dimension so the filesize may change when this happens. It may get larger than what you would expect since the gif has to be re-sampled. The resulting filesize is what I check.
To avoid any of these problems, use some image editing software and make sure the file dimensions are 100x100 exactly.
