17:00-17:10ish, pup reraises, deploys, claims, automaton gets a hit in and it despawns/dies? Clearly claimed when it disappears though not with the death animation you get when killing elsewhere. Wonder if it's a timeout?
Still, I'm glad this is still a thing in the game and glad folks are still poking at it. Will give the Mastery Rank people something to chase once they're stuck at 9 forever.

Some randoms:
- With the power of Naegling and Savage Blade is it worth it to get Rostam or Crocea Mors? I have full Malignance and D.Ring so the DT isn't a big deal for me, I'm not sure the Phantom Roll duration is worth the money, and I have Tauret for piercing. Crocea seems more like a fun / niche weapon. What are some fights where it shines?
- Is there any good use for Omen bodies besides lockstyle? I got a few of them from Gobbie Boxes and AMAN orbs but they don't seem practical in the current game.
- Does anyone have links to good WKR cheat sheets? I need to beat them some day and it's hard to find a good all-in-one guide.
TIA

The durations only half of it, +1 roll does its own work and is also something noting else can give you, whether its worth it is up to you but naegling is only the melee dmg part of the job covered, still got the whole buff aspect. Likewise croc covers the magic dmg aspect and cannot be replaced with something else. Worth it? Up to you.
- Is there any good use for Omen bodies besides lockstyle? I got a few of them from Gobbie Boxes (I gots mules) but they don't seem practical in the current game.
Largely just for the resist+, ashera's is still an okay TP body just due to lack of options, dagon has subtle blow II so small niche there, nisroch may have a spot in True shot/crit builds, not sure there.
- Does anyone have links to good WKR cheat sheets? I need to beat them some day and it's hard to find a good all-in-one guide.
Not sure what you'd need a guide for, go in and smack them up, bring a lot of holy waters/remove doom set for tree and possibly expect tiger to take all day due to full dispel+para aura that can be annoying to remove solo iirc

Which path of Rostam? C is used for potency, not only duration. It gives the best rolls in the game so yes, it's worth it, especially if you're trying to do the endiest-of-endgame activities. Also, having a Rostam (or maybe Lanun Knife path C) is necessary to get rolls to 10m duration (without wasting merits in duration), which allows you to always have at least 1 roll with Crooked Cards on it.
Rostam path A & B are very powerful tools for shooting/meleeing for TP. When you aren't using SB, like Arebati or other ranged strategies, it is incredible and unmatched for TP gain. It's also very useful for stuff like Hot Shot strategies (Dynamis D comes to mind). These aren't the most common activities, but if you're going to do them, you'll get a lot of value from the STP Rostam especially.
Crocea is used for enspell strats (see: V25 Ongo KI#1) and places where elemental WS are the most powerful/useful. Again, Dynamis [D] is a good example, though there are some others. It's quite niche and not something I'd prioritize right away, but would eventually suggest getting as it does get used sometimes.

Shamash is nice for the resist silence and has decent PDT, but it's been mostly replaced by empy, IMO. Ashera is still EXTREMELY good for BRD and RUN (DD set), pretty meh for the rest. Nisroch is OK for an AM3 set for COR and RNG, but pretty unimpressive TBH. Dagon is incredible for the SB II which is unique for all of those jobs. Udug is supposed to be good for PUP nuking but who gives a ***about PUP nuking?
- Does anyone have links to good WKR cheat sheets? I need to beat them some day and it's hard to find a good all-in-one guide.
They are all very, very easy with proper endgame gear. The only ones that are mildly challenging are the ice lion (because proccing his aura sucks) and the tree (because of doom). You can get an extremely good Holy Water set that will have a very, very high chance of removing doom and I think it's only like...3 pieces of gear? Or bring a WHM, friend or mule or w/e. They die in like...2 minutes to properly geared and buffed DDs. Even solo, it won't take very long or be dangerous at all. You can summon trusts mid-fight, even if you have aggro.

Before I say anything else, Sanguine Blade not having any SC properties means it can be used freely without interrupting skillchains, right? I'm 99% sure this is accurate, but part of me is doubting myself.

Thanks for your replies.
One more quesstion: I got super lucky and got a Combatant's Torque from Gobbie Box (+15 combat skills and +4 Store TP). Is there a good use case for this in the modern game (COR BLU THF RUN WAR).
Currently using Asperity Necklace ("Store TP"+3 "Double Attack"+2%) for my TP set and the TVR STR neck (10 STR 30 Atk) for Savage Blades.

It's a decent baseline neck for pretty much every job, and for pure mages like GEO/BLM/WHM and such is their best TP necks, for everyone else they'll have better eventually. like jse necks, anu torque, etc

is it worth it to get Rostam or Crocea Mors? I always hated the "is it worth it" kind of questions because it's your choice in the end, as you have to determine for yourself what the item would do for you. Nobody can really tell you what you should do, and your view may vary. IMO when there are items in the game that do something that nothing else can do to the same effect or even close, that item becomes "worth it" to me. Orpheus's Sash is worth every penny IMO. Gandring Path C (or Su4), worth it. Crocea C, Rostam ABC, all worth it IMO. I don't have a R25 Musa (I have Su4 R25), but it's the best enhancing magic staff for SCH. I just read other day someone who regretted making one because they didn't like SCH, lol. So it's all YMMV
Croc C superpowers Enspell RDM and Magical WS (especially with Bunzi's Rod), and it's one of the more unique ways to DPS. I use it frequently on anything that takes good to great magical damage. It's how I exclusively solo VD Shinryu, as he takes reduced damage when his wings are down, so your damage changes primarily from WS to Melee, and it pairs nicely with Ayanmo hands +2 and Orpheus's Sash. Also makes WS like Seraph Blade, Red Lotus Blade, and Sanguine Blade extremely powerful, Sanguine being a full heal and you're practically unkillable with an enspell+sanguine strategy. It's amazing to me. Now you can get Demersel Degen +1 R15, but it's not even close to performance in terms of enspell output. It serves a completely separate purpose than the ceremonial dagger 0TP enspell strategies. Croc C is one of a kind and a fabulous weapon. Also not to be overlooked is it has 20% Fast Cast base on the weapon. Paired with RDM's native 38%, you only need 22% more in gear to cap. This is phenomenal for spells like Impact (which every RDM should be using), but any spells in general where you want to prioritize a different stat but still keep capped FC (ex. Raises with Conserve MP gear). The huge Magic Accuracy chunk means you can retain high land rates at the same time as well. There's nothing I don't love about this weapon.
As far as Rostam, I think all paths are great for different purposes. A for shooting, B for Meleeing fast + WS (It's absurdly good on Xevioso V25 with Earp, for example, and I think they used B for August MT vs Teodor), C for rolling. It's pricy to get all 3, so I would say prioritize C > B > A in terms of use.
- Is there any good use for Omen bodies besides lockstyle? I got a few of them from Gobbie Boxes and AMAN orbs but they don't seem practical in the current game.
IMO the bodies are all niche in current game. Ashera Harness is good for BRD TP. Nisroch is good for crit am3 builds. Udug is for BST/PUP pet MAB Build (lol), Dagon is for Subtle Blow builds, and Shamash I use in Idle set on GEO for PDT, Refresh, and a resistance to annoying silence, since i'm usually within range of the enemy. As Nariont mentioned, the bodies all have high resists statuses, so you can play around with that for builds if you cared to (hey, WHM with a high Resist Silence rate is not nothing). They're not the craze they once were, but you can find a use for them if you care. I'd say Dagon is the most useful of the bunch as it gives the 2 handers the ability to get capped or close to capped Subtle Blow.

So having said that, Crocea has an advantage over Naegblade that RDM can spam Sanguine without worrying about interrupting anyone elses skillchains. And Sanguine with Crocea does solid damage. Maybe not Savage Blade numbers, but it will be a group DPS gain.

What is a good low/PT RP setup for Mboze RP? I know BST+RUN but dont have those with friend.
I was thinking NIN Migawari might be fun to play with but not sure if would work. Just thought I would ask and not make PUGs suffer me and friend testing random stuff. Thanks.

Tomahawk Helix MB and kite with Gravity/Bind in between reapplying Helix.
BLU COR [RDM or BRD]
Tactician's/Chaos Roll and WS when you get TP from the Regain. Control Mboze's TP with Reaving Wind/Feather Tickle. Ballad or Refresh for BLU depending on which you bring.
If you can find a random RUN and BST, I like to do 3x Mboze if I'm after Bunzi RP with:
PT1 - RUN BST [SC Opener (SAM DNC SMN)]
TP Drainkiss or Mewing Lullaby if you bring a SMN to control TP after applying HP Down.
PT2 - WAR RDM SCH
Tomahawk Helix MB & Kite
PT3 - BLU COR BRD
Tact/Chaos, March/Minx3/Ballad, Reaving Wind/Feather Tickle.

I was able to get Mboze down a few decent percentage (think 97%) with just NIN solo + Trusts (MM45), using Savage Blade, Migawari and Mikage (next to no TP feed). Sadly I could never get 6% damage on it before my trusts died, though I survived Firefly Fandango no problem. I ran out of heals, though.
I theorized that I could duo Mboze to 94% as NIN+BRD, but I'd still lack healing. Felt like DRK (Apocalypse or Foenaria) + BRD and use Scherzo and haste songs would probably do the trick. Have the BRD Nitro and land Nocturne and Elegy. Soul Enslavement would meet the goal quickly (just alternate Scythe WS). Sakpata's is very tanky, and you get Dagon Breastplate for Subtle Blow II build.
You could also do BLU+BRD, same style, low TP feed and use Feather Tickle + Reaving Wind (with Nitro Threnody), silence with Silent Storm. Then just Expiacion/Savage blade it down. Heal yourself. BLU+SMN Mew Strategy might also work with Earthen Armor on the BLU and Mew everything else, SMN stands out of range. Might not be able to land Silent Storm or TP reset spells without threnody, but you can just power through them with MDT (SMN can ProShell from Carbuncle, BLU can Magic Barrier/Saline Coat/Mighty Guard/Reactor Cool for Ice Spikes (Paralyze proc)). If you're not confident, go 3-job: BRD BLU SMN. Mew, Songs, Scherzo, go Ham. But I think 2-jobs leaves room for other 2 fights (if you are doing 3-in-a-row)

Does anyone know why the Dragon Quest Collaboration event is configured this way?
The last cutscene gives you the She-Slime and Metal Slime Spirits for Monstrosity...but you can still buy then buy these spirits for 20 coins from the Slime NPC in each respective town. This seems kind of redundant and I don't know what further use they have, at this point? ....Any one have an idea?
Maybe it's just to re-acquire them if someone tosses them? Do you actually need more than the one of each that they give you? ^^;

Any tips or tricks for some kind of inventory management regimen?
How are people handling inventory these days or are people simply auto dropping itemIDs that are known to be of zero value? Just curious. Thanks!

You will need to set aside a good hour or two and look through every bag and decide if the items you have in them are worth keeping around. Just gonna come down to general cleaning and maintaining.
Ask yourself when was the last time you casted THAT spell or used THAT High-MP Myrkr set and are still carrying around Abjuration gear. Repeat for every item that isn't after the Dynamis-D era.
Put every single JSE that can be stored on slips, unless you play the job every single day (like pld or geo for sortie, then you can keep it to save gearing time).
Store everything from Ambuscade era, most of that stuff is trash and you aren't really using most of it anyways. Throw away abjuration gear, or dollar mule send them away.
All crafting/ZNM pops/REMA currency need to be off your main character and on mules. That includes ADL pops, Omen Cards, anything just sitting there. Get it off your active bags (or at least move to your Storage). If you aren't making any AF+3 gear, toss every single Omen Scale. Sell the Sortie mats, you get them every run and if you need them you can get them daily.
Toss any ammo that can be used with the quivers unless you're doing a heavy shooting fight and need reserves. You can always pop more in your off-time. Same goes for NIN tools, just keep toolbags of Shika/Inosh/Chon and toss partially used stacks.
Any cosmetic gear, store it if it can be stored. Throw the rest away. Pick 2-5 outfit lockstyles you want and rock them. If it's a buyable item for like under 50k, toss it and buy it again when you feel like wearing that look again.
Any items that can be stored with an NPC (Skirmish Stones, Skirmish wings, etc), store them.
Having every single jug item for every BST pet, mule 90% of them and keep a few HQ ones (Peter, Patrice, Vickie). Buy the rest from NPC when you play BST. Never hold on to Pet food, they're cheap enough to rebuy.
If you haven't used an item in the past 4 months, sell it or toss it. This includes Oseem augment items just sitting around. Also if you have mats for like Ambu capes, and aren't actively making any, toss them. You can buy them back every month, your inventory space is more valuable

Buukki's spoiler has a LOT of very good advice. When I've logged in to friends' accounts, they have a ton of useless ***on them. You really need to evaluate why you have each piece of gear and whether or not you actually use it.
For me, I've managed to make ~10 jobs work with this system. If you want to have more in-depth gearsets or you play more jobs, it probably won't work.
Safe, Storage, Locker: Lockstyle pieces, gear that might be useful in the future, but I'm not using it now. Abjurations, UNM items that are OK, gear for other jobs, etc. A lot of this COULD be tossed, but I'm not hurting for space yet. Upgrade stuff I don't want to mule like Pluton Beitetsu Boulder. Should be muled but again, I'm not running out of space
Satchel, Sack, Case: Stuff I might need, like medicine, niche gear, crafting gear, Fishing gear, pop items, reraise, and synthesis mats. This stuff is honestly optional and could be purged as well, but...I'm doing fine.
Wardrobes: ONLY gear that is currently used on a job I actually play. As I said, for my characters this includes about 10 jobs each and that's 6~7 wardrobes.
I don't use slips because I think it's a PITA and easy to forget and I don't need to do it to make my jobs fit into the wardrobes I have. If you need to, it's an excellent way to save space.
Last tip: it really is/should be an ongoing thing. Every time you get an item you should be thinking about whether you need it or not, making a decision, and then storing it appropriately. If you let it build up it will become overwhelming.

Hi all, I'm sure this has been asked a million times but does Path A and B of most su4/5 weapons, which one offers faster TP gain?
Asking because was a bit confused with if the DA damage on A is purely damage, if it has some STP attached to it, and/or even if it does, does follow-up work better in case, for example, the extra attack round, counting as an extra attack round, gives more TP?
Background info but was considering making a MNK su4/5 for fun since I saw someone in a sortie run 4-step a fomor by themselves and they mentioned they're using a Sagitta and 100% kick-rate set (feel like they said B). RDM is my fastest TP generating job for solo-SCing and I can't even get TP that fast, but also my MNK with godhands and BGWiki TP set doesn't generate nearly as much TP that fast. Even if there are blowbacks like more enemy TP given or lower autos, very interested to try.
Though this question specifically is about A vs B since I've seen different answers from different people. (Thanks.)

Am I losing it or did the chocobo circuit used to have an auction house just off to the side room when you zone in? There's a whole room there that looks like an auction house counter but has absolutely nothing targetable in it.

The two effects are pretty simple to understand, but the answer to path A vs path B isn't totally clear because it depends on the job, specifically the STP value you have on your gear and whether you're dual wielding or not.
STP (path A) applies to both hands, so if you're dual-wielding it's more likely to be advantageous. I would say this applies to MNK as well, with 2 fists (plus kicks).
Follow-up attacks apply only to the hand wielding the weapon, but it's twice as potent (50% instead of 25 STP). It also takes advantage of all the STP you already have, where STP is additive. With high STP single weapon builds, this can pull ahead. Unfortunately the most it can give is 1 extra hit per round, whereas STP could apply to all 4 hits of a quad-attack, or 6 hits of two triple attacks, etc.
I would say generally, the STP is going to be the better value, though there are some corner cases where FUA is better. You also have to consider the value of SB II vs ODD.

Hi all, I'm sure this has been asked a million times but does Path A and B of most su4/5 weapons, which one offers faster TP gain?
Path B will gain TP significantly faster, it's "extra hit +1", 50% of the time. On MNK, that stacks with Kick Attacks, so you get 2 extra attacks per attack round, if they proc.
Background info but was considering making a MNK su4/5 for fun since I saw someone in a sortie run 4-step a fomor by themselves and they mentioned they're using a Sagitta and 100% kick-rate set
Base - 14
Merits - 5
Neck - 25
Empy legs - 30
cape - 10
af+3/4 - 10
-----
94% KA. Where's the other 6%? Footwork?
RDM is my fastest TP generating job for solo-SCing and I can't even get TP that fast, but also my MNK with godhands and BGWiki TP set doesn't generate nearly as much TP that fast.
This seems like a bigger problem. With a proper enhancing magic set for Temper II and Malignance 4/5+Bunzi hat (or even 5/5), self SCing on RDM is kinda effortless. Even with zero buffs this is easy, so I would reconsider your RDM sets if you are struggling to self SC.
As far as MNK goes, Godhands are slower H2H but self SCing is still possible with them. Keep in mind you need Martial Arts in gear to cap delay with Godhands with capped magical haste (a single Mache Earring +1, but even that is not needed to self SC). Sagitta Path B would help you SC faster, but you kinda shouldn't need that to accomplish it either. Are you certain you're capped on magical haste? It shouldn't really be that hard to self SC on MNK with the BG wiki set. Also, that set assumes R30 Odyssey gear, so if your Schere earring and Mpaca's Doublet isn't R30, you're lacking 13 STP. But even that shouldn't make it impossible to self SC on MNK, so I think there's something else going on with not being haste capped.
[+]
By Nariont 2026-02-12 23:53:40
May be better off just posting your TP sets, but at minimum a 3 step on either job shouldnt be that difficult unless as stated you're under haste cap, alternatively not capping acc which may happen solo on something like THF fomors or something

I disagree. STP+25 will apply to both fists plus the kick attacks, adding 25% (to the base), 3 times. You can also DA, TA, or QA and all of those will get STP, potentially SKYROCKETING the value of the STP. FUA will only ever be 1 extra swing. 50% of the time.

Udug is BiS for PUP nuking, but I agree that's pretty silly. It does have a more practical use though, any magical BST ready move.

While i think udug is still probably the best, herculean giving int+15/mab+25(think herc gets macc+mab too so maybe macc/mab+25) on puppet could be useful in its own right given how limited that is and how important it is for V nukes

On Su5 weapons - IMO other than for cor, the only paths worth looking into are B (Subtle blow) and C (job specific).
Path A is basically Empyrean-lite. If you want that, might as well make an empyrean weapon for that job.
Path B is super niche and depends on the job whether it gets used or not. For most jobs it has fallen out of favour due to better weapon options and better subtle blow options in gear.
For pup the mythic weapon is a TP building machine. Su5 path C for the pet stats. For mnk godhands is where it's at. AFAIK the mnk su5 is a pretty weak weapon.
Both those jobs are dropping a lot of dmg and utility by switching to path A SU5.

There's still a couple of nice things on SU5 weapon over Empyrean, despite its effect being weaker.
1) SU5 doesn't bind you into using specific WSs
2) You don't have to activate and mantain an Aftermath
3) Allows you to benefit from other pt members Afterglows (lol)
4) Aside from the fact you need to Rank it, you don't have to do any tedious work. No NM hunting, no TotM trials, no Abyssea farming. You just buy it and bang, that's it, it's ready
5) SU5 have higher base damage than Empy and a big chunk of HP (some weapons also have cool unique stats but that's not the case of Sagitta, it "only" gives you DT-10)
