Actually, speaking of MMM, trying to farm a Lycopodium Earring is driving me insane. Someone give me a hand with this, let me know if I'm missing anything. I am literally, no exaggeration, 0/345 so I must be (love you, mazecount.lua, thanks to Kayte who posted that!)

I am currently using this:

(in text form, that's 7, 14, 16, 17, 18, 100, nothing else - 7 for plantoid, 14 to make it the Flytrap, 16 to allow Lycopodium Earring to drop, 17+18 are higher level, 100 is go faster / more rewards)

to match this screenshot:
https://www.ffxiah.com/screenshots/82770

I have also tried:
-using 13 (Great Warrior) instead of 14 (Tiny Warrior), which gives the Goobbue instead of the Flytrap.
-adding combinations of 101 (less time), 104 (no spells), 103 (no abilities) to get more marbles.

I have not tried:
-094 (Lost and Found) because per Byrth's research (and hey you just posted here maybe you can confirm this):
https://www.bg-wiki.com/ffxi/User:Byrthnoth_/_Sandbox#Voucher_7:_Kill_a_NM

setting Lost and Found lowers drop rate on the actual items.

7, 14(resonating on M02), 16 are what I used to obtain the belt and earring. The maze also has 17, 18, 51, 71 and 94 to completely fill it out in case a more difficult enemy meant higher drop rate.

I used the same runes as you, but also had 051 (same logic as Zed, thinking that making it harder might improve drop rate), and the earring dropped for me.

I had previously used a setup that incorporated the Lost and Found rune, and went 0/hundreds for the earring (not really a problem, I was mostly interested in the titles). When I switched it up, the earring dropped within 10 runs.

edit: also wanted to mention that I used tabula M02 with rune 007 on light and rune 100 on thunder (no runes on fire and wind). I don't know if any of that makes a difference.

I've literally never done a 9, only 7s - I'm chasing Lycopodium Earring and somehow I'm 0/340 despite Byrth being like 1/10, across multiple different tabulae that should drop it?! - and I have everything at the start of your list through 46.

My guess is that they only drop from a "matching" Voucher - like 7 is a combat Voucher, so it might be required to get the combat Runes to drop?

Same way you can't get 114-116 except from Voucher 5 (allegedly. I also don't have them so I can't confirm!)

Those all exist but you can't get every rune in every maze.

Can you explain more? Can I just spam Maze Voucher 09 to get all of the Hoardbox runes or no?

If they exist, why no pictures on bg-wiki, ffxiclopedia? 57-70 don't have entries on ffxiah even.
Pretty sure you're wrong on this one, Byrth - from Windower's res.items:
Quote:
[28855] = {id=28855,en="Maze Rune 056",ja="メイズルーン056",enl="Maze Rune 056",jal="メイズルーン056",category="Maze",flags=63168,stack=1,targets=1,type=25},
[28870] = {id=28870,en="Maze Rune 071",ja="メイズルーン071",enl="Maze Rune 071",jal="メイズルーン071",category="Maze",flags=63168,stack=1,targets=1,type=25},
Certainly seems like there's not anything in between the two (or any ctrl-f results in the file for 057, etc) for 57-70, or 47-50, or 105. Unless you know something I don't, those seem to not exist?

Sorry, didn't read closely enough. The ones that aren't in the .dats don't exist. The ones that affect a specific maze need to be picked up in that maze (e.g. the fishing ones come from the fishing maze, the ones that affect the goblin minigame come from that maze, etc.)

As far as Lost + Found with 07, I was not trying to get any particular item and was just doing it for titles / exploration so I didn't take a screenshot of what I was using, but when I stopped using Lost and Found I noticed an improvement in drop rate. Could be a "did they buff Ridill drop rate this update?" effect because I wasn't rigorously tracking it before/after because I didn't care, but I think I quickly got reraise 3 earrings for several characters after dropping it?

The old lore states that the harder the 07 fight is, the better the drop rate is, Navius / Zedoma seem to be on the right track. You can roughly track fight "difficulty" by how many marbles it yields, so things like the restriction runes (no magic, no abilities, etc.) and the might runes, job runes, magic runes should all help.

Edit: Worth noting as well that dropping Lost & Found really makes a lot of space for other runes that can make the fight harder, so that might be what boosted drop rates for me.

Runes to make it harder + resonating on tabula 02 it is! Thank you all! I'll keep you posted (well, actually, I'll just come back and brag if it does drop.)

Am I having a bout of extreme bad luck?

I have traded 1,584, fireworks, 4 statcks a day for the last 4 days; making 100% sure it is the lead Mirthful Ixion.

I have yet to get an Alicorn mount. I do in fact NOT have it.

Alicorn mount doesn't come from the Ixion, trade to the lead Alicorn in another zone - Qufim Island has Alicorns.

I just found out about the upcoming Abyssea item login point campaign and was wondering if the harp is still worth chasing in 2026 or if there's something crazier in the game by this point.

If you mean, is there anything better, the prime gives 2 songs, too

So, youre probably still going to want the harp, unless career barding a prime horn.

I found Eiryl's answer confounding so want to rephrase it? Or provide my own version.

The prime horn (at stage 5) can give 2 extra song slots, which is the primary use for Daurdabla.

Unfortunately, it takes 8.52m muffins to make, so it will take ABSOLUTELY forever to make, and won't take Daurdabla's place (for this role) until it's finished.

Also: Daurdabla is still necessary kit (IMO) for making proper Horde Lullaby II sets, no matter what gear you have or what ML you are, so you still shouldn't /toss the Daurdabla when/if you finish the prime horn.

Also also: unless you're planning to never play BRD, or only play BRD ineffectively, until you finish the entire horn, you still need a Daurdabla for the mean time.

Also also also: committing all those muffins to your horn means NOT making a different prime, so you have to consider the cost/benefit for your character as a whole. A lot of people aren't willing to give up an entire S5 prime and 6 months of their lives so they can avoid having to farm Sisyphus.

That said: do what you will with this information.

Do enspells (e.g., applied by a RDM/SCH using Accession) overwrite the effect of Impetus on a MNK? Anything else that overwrites Impetus, aside from the one noted example on BG of Orcish Counterstance via Diffusion?

Hello Fellow Forumers! I haven't played in a good while and a coworker of mine was interested in loading up and playing the story of XI while we are in a down period in XIV.
I used to load up my old PC and play just fine but recently I got a new PC and laptop and decided to do a fresh install.

However when I downloaded the game off playonline I got corrupted files and the launcher was missing a lot of text. I tried to load the old installer I had on a USB but even that tried to connect to a server that was no longer active.

I was also curious if it was possibly worth downloading the game onto a USB to kinda "future proof" getting new systems later or taking it on the go when I travel. I'd assume USBs are fast enough to manage this game now at least.

Would anyone happen to know the best place to redownload the game without corrupted files/if the USB idea is a good idea or not?
Just figured I'd get an opinion here before I went and did it lol

I tested this just now, and Impetus and Enspells can coexist. No overwrite and you can have both up at once.

It doesn't sound like they're corrupted. I had a similar experience. (Mine looked something like this https://imgur.com/a/YNSyEZM) It's likely your hardware too modern for POL, and for me the solution was using dgVoodoo.

These were the notes I made in the event I ever needed to do a fresh install:

I use the following macro to get my alts to assist my main. It fails to work properly an irritating amount of time. When I need to do it repeatedly in odyssey it seems to fail even more and I waste a lot of time retrying
/console send @others /assist <main>
/console send @others //exec <assist script>
/wait 1
/console send @others /attack <t>

The <assist script> is just the other 3 lines again in case I have to do somehting else.

Is there a better way to do this, because it seems to only work decently if I have to infrequently use it.

Farming titles and Skullcrusher is coming up soon. I read need to light 7 candles in 5 min to pop NM. before i try to gather six other people I wanted to see if I can get more info.

1) We all trade the flint, does one random NM pop or will all 7 then pop?
2) If all 7 pop then once one is killed would others depop?
3) is there any way to do it solo?
4) any other info i should know/care about?

Thanks for indulging me.

All 7 pop at once
I don't know if they would despawn, each person can claim their nm and kill it for the title
Yes, but no (poshack, thats how I did it) ((use 7 character multibox))
Not really

Is Spirit Taker 1:1 damage:mp

With all the crazy *** gear won't it give more mp than myrkr (when its safe to spirit taker instead of myrkr, obviously)

I've used spirit taker on BLM before I got Myrkr, I think it was a little less, maybe on par with Myrkr MP healing but it's phyiscal melee range so you need to run in and it has a ACC check while Myrkr can be used when ever you can draw your weapon or even without if you use GS and it can't miss.

Myrkr also removes some debuffs.
