Is the Recast formula on BG wiki correct?
Supposing it is, then I must be doing something wrong. Anybody mind fixing what's wrong in the way I'm calculating it? Let's pretend I'm like 5 years old, because that's probably my level of math skill. Code Recast = (Initial Recast) × (1 - (Haste÷1024) + (Slow÷1024)) × Floor(Fast Cast% ÷ 2) Recast = (60) × (1 - (68.75÷1024) + (0÷1024)) × Floor(24% ÷ 2) Recast = (60) × (1 - (0.0671)) × (0.12) Recast = 6.7 seconds But that's wrong clearly, I'm getting like 15-16 seconds recast. So what's the problem? What did I do wrong? Your haste isn't 68.75, it's 68.75%, or more precisely 256 from equip + 448 from magic = 704. Duh, that was a very dumb mistake on my side, but the final number still doesn't work alas.
There must be some other silly error in the numbers I put in there? "2x max 500k" is a bit generic. I suppose it's a one-time thing? So once you gain a total of 500k EP it's over and you go back to 1x EP per kill? And I wonder if they mean 500k of "bonus" or 500k total. Because if it's 500k total then it means that the "free" EP you're getting is just 250k, which I mean don't get me wrong, it's still something, but... whoa, talk about being stingy Of the 20ish XP/CP rings in the game that give a similar bonus, did you ever question if the bonus is its listed value or if it was "total"? Did you look at Facility Rings and go "is the bonus 30k or is it actually only 10k after the 150% bonus"?
Theres no reason to believe the EP bonus is actually 250k bonus. Considering 500k is what you need to hit ML15 or only ~2% of the way to ML50 with a small buffer, I'd be surprised they'd pull that kind of bait and switch over such a minuscule number. And I'm pretty sure the JP community would be equally vocal about it. I read it that way the first time, and considered posting the same thing Sechs said. The exact text is:
The exemplar points earned by defeating monsters will be doubled. (Up to a total combined amount of 500,000 points) However, I ultimately decided that it is unlikely. They probably mean the 'combined amount' of all kills that awarded additional EP. I don't think they'd cut it to a 250k bonus like that. I'd read it as being 250k.
Considering how extremely wary they've been so far about adjusting anything even just remotely related to Exemplar Points, I was kinda looking for the worst case scenario, and their wonky wording sort of led me further into that.

I know you can go in on someone else's pop regardless. Is there a command/syntax to switch targets mid-battle? Just died to something because the game strangely locked me on Joachim and the battle command "Disengage" was not accessible. I couldn't put away my weapon even typing /disengage, was unable to switch targets (and couldnt run away and disengage because the mob followed me, so the trust I was locked on did too). I was forced to Release Joachim or dismiss trusts, then it corrected, but then it caused me to die. Super annoying.
I don't think /disengage is a command, were you trying /attack off ?
There isn't a command for switching targets that I'm aware of...maybe /attack <stnpc> works? Never tried it. edit: I checked on the macro test dummies, you can use /attack <stnpc> Not sure how it handles the "I'm locked on to an ally" bug, but it works for switching between enemies. Ok I was typing /disengage in panic even though the command was /attack, so that was user error on my part. Hopefully I don't get that again, but I vaguely remember this happening before and also wasn't able to disengage by any means. Thanks for the info.
So I'm trying to skillup mog garden on my mule and I'm stuck on the Creel of Moat Carp from the Pond.
Used 12 Super Baitball, 12 days, it's currently level 4 and there's Kuyin Hathdenna to power it up. I know Super Baitball doesn't make it 100% but what kind of rate am I looking about here? Done Mog Garden on my main aeons ago and I totally do not remember. Shouldn't really take more than 3 from experience. Too many times to count it's only taken more than 2 or 3 once.

Don't disengage > reengage, just "Switch target" to the mob you want. Much less time wasted since you aren't stowing then drawing your weapon. |
