I think the cap (if you carried over from the previous month) is 4k. You get this many if you log in every day of the campaign, never spend any, and carried over from the previous month.
Most months I don't bother spending them because there isn't really anything worth spending on.

do I have to complete all the RUN quests first or something?
Yes, you have to do the quests to get the commissions and other quests.

There's not much, but I haven't played in 11 years haha, so there's a lot to take in.

Yes, you have to do the quests to get the commissions and other quests. Excellent, thank you. This is not documented anywhere as far as I can tell!

Not sure if Relic/Empy are required, but the BG wiki page lists the AF quest as a pre-requisite. Have you done the AF quest?

Wait, is Epeolatry a prereq for the Maester of Maddening/Runic Emissary/Blade Enthusiast titles?! Cause that's what I'm specifically asking about, not Epeolatry. I don't see anything there that says that.
The page for Octavien just says
Quote: While not technically quests, Octavien has another functionality that you can activate if you speak to him while wearing a Runic Weapon or Arrow (bangles do not work to trigger the quest). but does not mention any prerequisites.

Ah, my misunderstanding then, I didn't know anything about these titles and assumed when you said:
I can't seem to trigger Octavien's dialogue about Runic Weapons
You were calling the Ergon a "runic weapon"

Gin is probably the easiest, as there are no real gimmicks to trip you up. If you sub Rune Fencer to mitigate magic damage, it's pretty easy to survive. The biggest thing is getting hate back right after Zero Hour (used at 75%, 50%, 25%, and 10%) to keep it from steamrolling your trusts. The only real issue comes from Amnesia or Break happening at the wrong time, but it's usually not a big deal.

Brainless solo? Gin has the easiest gimmick to work around. Fu could probably be doable as long as you find a way to limit buffs.
Kin does terror, so you really have to manage hate with your trust tank.
Kei does the 2500 aoe damage, so you'd have to find a way to get the ones in range out of range. I think the distance is only 10' away, so its not super far, mage Trusts that are coded to stay away are safe. Tanks that have 2500+ hp would be safe as well (provided they're topped off)
Kyou will require a lot of patience to stack all 5 trusts on top of each other to eat bravado.
Fu's gimmick is that it will absorb all buffs, and start pumping out ridiculous amount of damage for every buff absorbed within a 20' range. And when I say ridiculous, I mean a tank could get 1shot. Its just total unique buffs, so it absorbing 6 protects is just 1 buff.
Gin's gimmick involves absorbing magic damage, no one really cares to mess with it. Thats not to say its not a threat, but its by far the the one a "brainless solo for meathead DD and trusts" can handle.

Whats your goal though? Seems weird to ask the question in such a way instead of "Can I kill X caturae solo with trusts, I'm trying to get a Y item"
By Kaffy 2024-12-06 01:06:20
Is there a mystic retriever equivalent for TVR reward items? I know you can get the thunder hammer again because it is required, but what about the other stuff? Specifically Oshasha's Treatise, in this case.
By Dodik 2024-12-06 07:29:03
Think someone asked that before about treatise and the answer was "you're f****d".
Generally it's the NPC that gave you the item the first time that would give it to you again if you lost. For treatise that was the galka child in Bastok?

Checked both NPC who starts the mission and gives the item, nothing from either. Oh well.

Kei does the 2500 aoe damage, so you'd have to find a way to get the ones in range out of range. I think the distance is only 10' away, so its not super far, mage Trusts that are coded to stay away are safe. Tanks that have 2500+ hp would be safe as well (provided they're topped off) And if it hits just 1 other character besides the trust tank then it'll do 5000 damage instead. That doesn't leave much margin for error. Also that NM just sucks to deal damage to because of its shield, you need to be able to do at least about a 4 or 5 step skillchain, ideally with weak 1st and 2nd step. This is probably the 2nd hardest for a meathead DD to solo, behind Kyou which would probably just be impossible.
I've killed Kyou as a duo (PLD+SMN) by getting my avatars to eat Bravado but that wouldn't work with a trust tank. They would build too much hate, my Ramuh wouldn't be able to get it off them, and they would die to Bravado. Without doing the low hate & sacrificial pet method, you need to stack enough characters to soak up the damage which trusts can't do as they like to move around too much.
I'm inclined to agree that Gin is probably the best bet.
Edit: Fu could work if you use a couple untargetable trusts and not many buffers. Cornelia would be fantastic for this. If you got say two untargetable trusts, three targetable ones plus the player, with nothing but protect/shell up... that's 8 buffs. That's survivable probably. The question just becomes whether you can deal enough damage with no buffs. Throwing in a RDM for haste might be asking for trouble though as they'll usually do refresh as well which could be up to 16 buffs total and that's a bit much.
Kin you would almost certainly just get terrored over and over again, but maybe it could work as long as you have enough time to wait out the terror each time. And assuming doom doesn't become a problem, but it usually doesn't unless you have an actual player tank (PLD or RUN) building large chunks of hate on the NM.

If you can get a friend to help or 2box then Fu Kei Kin become as easy as Gin is solo. Kyou I have done as DD DD WHM on occasion.

Fus damage bonus isnt tied total number of buffs absorbed across everyone, its total number of unique buffs absorbed. Taking haste 3 times is still only one buff absorbed.
No?

Nope I'm almost positive that it's total buffs across everyone. I remember disasters from early Omen days with a full alliance getting hit because they were standing too close and even though folks only had pro/shell mostly, Fu started slapping us for 99999 damage.
Kyou I have done as DD DD WHM on occasion. Ohhh so just like one DD in front one behind, one eats it, other DD tanks while WHM raises the one who ate it? Lol that's brilliant

No I'm certain, we would be very careful about checking who has what buffs. We're talking maybe 8 unique buffs total (pro, shell, haste, refresh, stoneskin, maybe some others like aquaveil or regen, but no rolls or songs), and Fu would start hitting for capped damage.
Conversely, he can absorb 15 buffs from a single person and not hit nearly that hard.
By Dodik 2024-12-06 13:45:36
8 unique buffs will one shot any DD easily.
Four buffs is the limit when I do Fu, one DD in range, rdm gives them pro/shell/haste2 and phalanx and keeps reapplying each time. Still hit 99k ws with those four buffs stolen. And he hits pretty hard with just four. If you have tank then they get the same buffs and stay in range.
Kyou can do with four and two trusts, place a luopan in front of him to absorb some dmg too. With damage divided by 7 it is manageable.

Kyou I have done as DD DD WHM on occasion. Ohhh so just like one DD in front one behind, one eats it, other DD tanks while WHM raises the one who ate it? Lol that's brilliant I usually used WAR/DRG WAR/DRG WHM and 2boxed one WAR and the WHM.
Shed hate before 75% and sacrifice a trust tank. 50% sacrifice a WAR and arise. You can then either hold it for unweak and sacrifice the other WAR or shed hate and kill the weakened WAR again. Same at 25%. After that there's no holding because of meteor. Can just kill with the one WAR alive after 25%. It is possible for the weakened one to stay out of meteor range for the rest.
Actually you can pass leader to the arisen dd and let them recall trust tanks each time and lose hate to sacrifice them too.

Do the DI dragons count as NM kills for the "kill 2,000 NMs" vorseal? (Spoils+)
I haven't closely tracked my progress or anything so I can't exactly tell.

Does anyone know if the escha lotto NM's still have a chance to pop if you one shot them without aggro'ing or claiming them first? I'm starting to second guess based on the amount on mobs I've killed, and I've got max rare enemy vorseals and no mollifier and nobody else in the zone

And so far the Dolphins do atleast spawn Warders without offensive claims with one-hit AoEs, but they do "aggro".
