Limited time objective: Vanquish Undead.
Where do you all find is a quick and easy place to do this one? I always had ignored this and Vanquish Arcana as they didn't appeal to me, but now I kind of am interested.
I decided Ro'Mauve would be good for Arcana since it is a Survival Guide warp away. I was thinking KRT for Undead, but I know they mixed those monsters around and don't know if there are 20 easy-to-get to kills there. Better location for Undead?
While I'm asking, where do you all do Aquans, Beasts, Lizards, Plantoids, Vermin, and Birds too?
Thank you in advance. The seaboard vultures for birds, its right outside tav.
and Plants is da tree, obv
every zone in adoulin has a mob type theme, that's simple enough

Honest question Everquest II with around 2000-4000 ppl (maybe less) check discord, gets expansions and just got an expansion, am curious why FFXI can't do that how stingy is square

EQ is American
XI is Japanese
That's the simple answer.
WoW on their 30th xpac, American.
Runescape still gets new ***, UK
Guildwars still pumping out random ***, American.
EVE still going hard as ***, Korean(?)
The key is don't be japanese.

Think that this is more a Square-Enix than Japanese. S-E just wanted this game dead when FFXIV was released, but they failed. I get a feeling that for higher-ups this is just a necessary evil.

I played this years ago and I saw the same thing, they are also getting client updates. I admit I did get a little butthurt.
I think FFXI has had the staying power it has because of the job system, which has some pretty interesting/unique jobs and you can have one char play all of the jobs, along with the subjob system. EQ2 jobs are more vanilla and, at least when I played it, you couldn't have one char play all of them. The way 11 manages this provides a lot for players to do without forcing them to add new content, allowing them to be a bit more lazy with content. The gear variety is also much wider in 11. Even with more content, IMO EQ2 runs out of steam really quickly.
To some extent SE is also hamstrung by technical limitations, EQ2 was only ever a Windows title.
11 also is getting new content: VR, which I find about as exciting as watching paint dry, is new content. So is Sortie. The EQ2 expansions are probably much more expansive, but 11 is getting content....it's just not as extensive as other games.
I also wonder what cultural differences play a part in what 11 gets, I don't know many NA players super excited about VR and 11 has always been more tailored to the JP community, so I wonder if the Japanese players are more into that sort of thing than the western ones are.

I think mainly because XI gets more content via patches, including story and new endgame.
However ultimately, a company that has share holders and a company that is just happy to make a profit are two different things.

Likely more due to being console-centric, with (at the time) an inherent life cycle due to being tied to that hardware. EQ is getting it's 29th expansion this week. Everquest Online Adventures - the PS2 spinoff that was the other MMO offered on the system - was shut down a decade ago.
Kind of a mixed bag anyway. On the one hand, sure, if XI was designed more for PC and for being supported for decades they might have engineered it differently. On the other hand, it's still going, where a lot of other MMOs from that time aren't.

Does anyone have any data on Gilfinder?
I seem to get better results having all the gear on, on initial hit, but what's the word around town?

Magoraga beads are like other spellcasting like vanya that is basically just 10% "FC" for utsusemi and not like grimoire effects that go beyond hte 80% cap right?

It’s like FC and part of the 80% cap.

It's interesting, they said "early" that should be the 10th, but that's saturday.
They broke the pattern. Said early but the update is mid. They were doing early 9/10 mid 11/12 for a long as time with rare exception.

Are there item level versions of the Jailer weapons?
By Nariont 2022-12-06 05:57:24
unfortunately no, they finally fix the problem of virtue stones way after those weapons became irrelevant

Do SU5 OAT weapons' B path augments ("Chance of follow-up attack") behave like Jailer weapons (can DA or TA off the follow-up attack), or like normal OAT weapons (can't)?
By Nariont 2022-12-06 06:48:40
I -think- only jailers have that odd DA/TA feature, every other instance of FUA just applies at the end of the round of that hand, which SU5 is

I don't think Jailer weapons or follow-up attack has any interaction with QA/TA/DA at all (other than 2xQA and follow-up blocking each other on DW or H2H, because of 8hits limit per round). Jailer weapons were tested when it was very little MA chance available, so it would required retesting, BUT if anything Jailer weapons MAYBE could proc follow-up attack off MA proc, not the other way around, so the total number of hits were still 5 per hand with both QA and Virtue stone proc. It's impossible for sure to proc MA twice, first from normal attack, then from Virtue stone attack and hit up to 8 hits per hand.

Apparently they work like this:

So yeah, probably not going to be replicated by the augment.
