I'm currently trying to gear up my SCH, and I wanted to work on Kirin's for an enhancing set. However, I have absolutely zero clue on how synergy works. If I want the item, am I required to level synergy and do it myself, or am I able to hire a synergist and have it done for me? I'm mainly just confused by the fact that the item is augmented, which leads me to believe that I have to do all the damn work myself.

Anyone have some advice for a crafting idiot?

Just need synergy unlocked then can have someone else do it for you. As long as you can turn the mats into the furnace you're good.

Much appreciated, thank you. For a Kirin's augment I only need the actual pole then a Genbu scrap if going for enhancing + augment, correct? And obviously somebody who actually knows what they're doing, which is definitely not me.

I think so, yeah, don't take my word for it as I never had to augment a Kirin's pole. But should be the same as everything else, tatter/scrap+item.

Switching allegiance will lose you 2 ranks, or at least it used to before they tied campaign ranks to missions progress. having finished WotG might now mean no rank loss at all, but 2 ranks at the worst.
On a side note, unless you need Campaign gear that is excluse to Windurstian citizens, there is no need to change your allegiance, tho I'm assuming that is why you wanna swap in the first place.

If you didn't switch before, no. Your first switch comes with no loss of rank. Switching will lose you rank regardless of how far you are in the missions if it's your second or higher time.

He wants to switch because he's come to realise Windurst is the best!

I don't know. But if I had to guess I'd assume it's subtle blow but only 0 TP gained by the enemy instead of smaller amounts.

Is there a list of mobs with mp? Aside from mages, things like crabs that you can aspir for no particular reason.

You're generally able to absorb mp from mobs which particular job would have mp, you can aspir most crabs due to the fact they're PLDs, even though most non-nm crabs don't cast magic.

I'm certain wiki had information like this though, there would be the best bet.

http://wiki.ffxiclopedia.org/wiki/Category:Crabs

Just select whichever mob is listed, and it'll give details as to what job it is.

An exception to this rule is Campaign mobs, all of them can be aspired.

I have a question about DG. Recently I was soloing some NMs with pup in aby, and it seemed that DG only proc'd at around 25% pet hp. Is this a bug atm, or does DG not take into account hp cruor boost (I think I have enough KIs to make it like +15% or so)? So will I only get the bonus at under 25%? That would be really crappy lol

Are you using the movement penalty to conclude whether or not it's active?

No, I mean. You say it only proc'd below 25%... What were you concluding this on? The damage taken? Your Automaton slowing down?

That's unfortunate. Automatons must have a different formula for damage taken under the effects of Ducal Guard. Beastmaster pets receive it around 70% and below and avatars receive it at all times. The movement plus penalties are applied normally.

But to answer your specific question, it is based off initial hit points. Whatever you can add from gear, atma or cruor buffs will not increase the threshold at which the various effects activate.

It may be a bug. I don't honestly know how Ducal Guard works with Automatons.

Initially the movement penalty was applied to avatars at all times. Back in December they ninja changed it so the penalty applied at the relevant threshold of health. But, in doing so, they did not remove any of the damage taken from avatars. It could be they fiddled with Automaton's benefits from Ducal Guard at the same time because I definitely remember hearing about Automatons receiving -DT higher than 25%.

I guess we'll have to wait for a PUP to read and share his two gil worth.
