Ok so ive soloed "Up In Arms" i'd guess 20 times before today but it has been about 4-5 months since last i tried.
I've never even came close to losing so when the hell did SE gimp the funguar familar.
I used 10 dawns and had NM at 95% still and i dont recall an update where they gimped pet.
So this is basically a heads up to bst not to waste seals since i see no changes on any of the websites about the BCNM.

I've noticed a change too, i was using about 2 times more mulsums and was taking hate from pet in 1-2 hits. I've only lost one but there was a big difference from the 1st time and last time i did it, its still soloable just need alot more mulsums and bring some lvl 60 pet food.

It happened back in decemember I believe where they fixed funguar familiar having traits of discreet louise. Surprised at how big a difference it was. I usually was able to finish the bcnm in 7-8 mins. Almost lost the first few times after the change on time and finished around at 14:50. Eventually got the time back down to about 10-11 mins but you still constantly take hate from your pet and use more mulsum.

It's lvl capped at 60. You have to be 95min to call GG.

Lolnecro? So I was interested in doing this so I'm wondering, do I need to get a gear set for 60? Or can I just level sync what I got at 99?

the last time I saw someone update, it was possible, but you're talking 10-15 dawn mulsum. It could be done, but if you are going for k-club, I'd find a cheaper way to do it 100 times.

alternatively, we duo'd with relative ease as rdm + blm. if you have a friend, I'd recommend that over bst.

Yeah, it's still possible, I'm not really sure how hard solo would be, but duo was still pretty hard, barely got pets alive with reward and stuff. And that was duo. D:

Can also do it on SCH, I've done it twice but it was somewhat close. I brought meds liek pro-ether. Make use of drain and make sure sublimation is always charging. If you do do it on sch. lol

Has anyone done this BCNM consistenly solo on BST? Just looking for some up-to-date strat advice, # of muslims used on average, if fungar pet is still the best etc. Thanks!

I havent done it solo since i found out the change to fungar pet, its still possible but alot harder. You will be using about 15 muslims and half a stack of food. Its hard to kill fast enough without taking hate and dying.

I tried this the other day actually, (I never heard about the funguar nerf) I went through 10+ dawns and i was riding my reward timer, it was still above 80%, I think I only took off 1 arm. I never put on a 60 cap equipment set, so that might have had something to do with it, but it was still destroying my funguar. I couldn't melee at all, it would attack me after every hit.

I guess you could try to use a TP wing, and rampage snarl to try and put hate on your pet, but you'd still go though a lot of dawns until you got all his arms off, and you would be pushing the time limit. Using a mage job (blm/rdm/sch) would be better imo.

Are you using the suicide bomber type muslims or the more peace loving, non violent kind?

I've tried on bst and it was very difficult. You are playing lottery, because your chance of success largely depends on if you can spawn a level 60 pet or not. You are also blowing alot of gil on mulsums.. which you will only get some of the cost back from the normal drops of the bcnm.

I have sch leveled, and frankly, its super easy on sch w/ af gear, so Its cheaper and easier to do it that way.

Just finished dual-boxing this guy with bst/nin + rdm/whm.

Total pet food epsilon used: 5 (I brought 2 stacks)
Total dawn mulsum used: 6 (I brought 15)
Total fungars used: 2

I used lvl 50-60 axes as well as a combination of AF gear + scorpion harness etc.

It seems the key for me was weathering the storm for the first 50% after that you can almost just let your pet take over. I decided to use an icarus wing as suggested to open the fight and then snarl. This turned out to be a good idea because even after this it was, at times, hard keeping hate on my pet. I tried to keep shadows up whenever I could being careful that it wouldnt turn back to me. My rdm didnt do much other than toss out a few cure IIIs, blind, and gravity. I didnt attempt to sleep him at all but if things got tough you could use sleep to heal up and/or let timers cool. Gravity was fairly useful as it was running after me while my pet attacked it. Epsilon healed my pet quite a bit combined with af boots.

I'm pretty sure using this method you could do it with just one pet. I'm a horrible dual boxer so it doesnt take much coordination if you choose to bring rdm as well.

I'd guess a BST geared well with lvl 60 stuff + meds could solo this.

0/1KC xD

Good luck.

Edit: If you macro in your epsilon biscuits be sure to do it like this:

/equip ammo "Pet Fd. Epsilon"

not

/equip ammo "Pet food Epsilon" <--Doesnt work

The title of this thread is "bst solo," not "bst duo." I really don't see the point in posting this strategy. There are MUCH easier ways to duo this BCNM. Going BST is just a waste of gil and time.

Waste of time, why? Gil, maybe, although 50k isnt much for anyone I'd think. And as I mentioned, my rdm didn't do much. I also said that I would guess it could be solo'd by a well geared to lvl60 bst w/ meds. Just trying to help ppl out w/ what worked for me.

This BCNM is still soloable-Duoable. Going to cost some gil, but should be able to cut down cost by selling loot. 1/15 on K.Club. which sold overnight for 110 mil. Will post a pic soon, after i finish this criminology exam -.-.

I'd honestly just burn SCH to 60, grab an Iridal Staff and laugh at how much effort other jobs have to put in to solo it.

Bst Trio (Trio Box). If soloing, just buy enough dawn mulsum to spam until 50%, when arms start slowing down. Literally just stand there.
