Any good RPG suggestions for current gen?

JRPGs have been stale, and in decline over the years due to being stuck in their ways, and id be hard pressed to find an SE game fans call good within the last few years.
i meant dont get me wrong, i love them, but they just arent real RPGs to me.
they aren't good anymore because they haven't been sticking to their ways.
Personally I prefer JRPGs and don't play wrpgs at all, I am not going to around saying they suck just I don't like them, I've been tempted by some of them though, as they look cool.
I never got around to playing XII or much of XIII (loved X).
There's been many games outside the mainstream JRPG's that I've found to be great games in their own right.
they are older now but still great games:
Shadow Hearts series
Wild Arms series
(sure I have played others but nothing that comes to mind).
Jrpg's are more to the type imo.

As far as DS games go, If you have one, "The World Ends with You" is a magnificent RPG, Kinda short, but really darn fun.

I borrowed a tales game for the gc awhile back from a friend and have still not played it, although I probably will soon since I'm told the one I have for the wii is actually tied somewhat story wise.

I'd say to go back to the golden age of RPGs and play those.

I tried to find my cart the other night and I can't find it, I think I let somebody borrow it and they got all their ***confiscated/sold.
not sure though I have a lot of random stuff everywhere so it may just be in another box.
I hope I don't have to buy it again out of principle (knowing full well I have several roms of it).

Thank you! I have been trying to remember the name of some other Sega CD games I played back in the day. This is one of them. I still own my Sega Genesis and Sega CD, btw.

Still own my genesis and sega cd (and my neo geo, turbo duo, 3do, saturn, dreamcast etc...)
Popful mail was awesome. The character Gaw i just loved. I miss working designs.
Otherwise on sega cd i have shining force cd, (and shining force 3 senario 1 for saturn) Snatcher... ooh... that reminds me i need to get another copy of Vay eventually.

FF6 was a masterpiece. The story,characters, and music were amazing.
Out of all the FF's 9 is my favorite though. 6 comes extremely close though. Can't get over the Oprah scene and Kefka the greatest character ever created in the entire lore of Final Fantasy.

Kefka was boss. He's a villain that actually accomplishes his goal.
I've tried to play through FF6 three times now and I keep losing momentum. It's a good game, but it's also a long game. I wish I had more in the way of long periods of uninterrupted free time so I could play through it from start to finish. On the other hand, I don't at all regret using my Christmas break on Skyrim.

Xenoblade Chronicles originally was not going to come NA until there was a giant campaign to bring it over and NOA actually listened(the fact that the fan base of Earthbound has been pestering them for over 17 years and them refusing to localize Mother 3 or rerelease Earthbound on another platform is beside the point). I believe they slated it in the spring just for it to not be over shadowed by the "big hit" games that came out recently. Marketing 101 yadayadayada

I usually don't see any of them for under $30.

Well thats incredible, every EU review said this is THE best J-RPG of the last 10 years... (A lot of pro review said its the best one since FF7)
And no one wanted edit this in NA? >.>
