Although the event was on relatively short notice, we sincerely thank all participants for attending. A 5v5 game was much more expected, but one of our players was unfortunately busy at the time. There will be more games in the future, and for those who missed this time's event, the stream and recording can be found here in courtesy of Upbeat.

It's interesting, the motivation that propelled me forward in creating this thread, and many others, was the hope that there are still some ballistars out there... even people who might want to try something new~

With so many ballista threads, and so many different topics.

Is there any possibility of a sub-forum being created for player vs player?

This being a thread for ballista on the test server, it truly doesn't encompass everything we want to talk about and share in retrospect.
Thus leading readers to steer away from the thread because of the expected content.

Either that or we just make several topics about what we want to talk about, lol.

ah the good old days of ballista. sniff. i miss those days. i think if they offered better rewards people might actually participate. oh hell, even if players had the option of placing items into a pool that could be distributed. that could be interesting. for almost a year i geared my rl scedule around those matches. id have to say i was more partial to jugnar and marsh only because i hated the best of 3 idea. and the fact that it was always thrown into mountains.

at its peak on sylph i think we had 50+ person battles per side. it was pretty awesome. multi alliance battles. i sadly never got into many of the uncapped ones since my highest job (blm) was i believe in the mid 50's or early 60's. but i remember loving beign able to sneak/vis, rub behind the enemy camp, and nukegaing them to death lol. i would naturally die as a side effect. but it was loads of fun to watch people drop to the ground when they werent expecting it

Hmm... I can see how this would be an issue...
The only rewards we can really offer are amazing memories, multiple recording/live streaming sources... and if you care there are also bragging rights.

The camera man.. it has a mind of its own...

Just a heads up but Camate is looking into making a Test Server Ballista event.

It's not a 100% thing but he says he'd like to work towards doing one in the future. I'll post here in case there are any official updates.

i just wanted to make a small augmwent to my origional statement. i was completely happy with the rewards they offered. hell, i didnt even think about the money when we were doing the event, it was all about comparing gear, and planning tactics of who was bait and where where people could maximize their jobs. i have tons of memories of ballista. vids ive been unable to take, so as for that "reward" i cant have those.

my comment about giving better rewards was because i feel that would encourage others who might never have tried it to join in. most of the newer players mostly just play to level jobs fast and get gear without really knowing how to play their job. give me an old fashion non sync party any day. exp rate doesnt matter. i loved being able to magic burst and plan skillchains.
