Our bodies are a gift from Him, our lives a gift from Him. We are suppose to treat our bodies as a temple. How many temples do you know have grease and cheese dripping from them as they slowly decay into oblivion?
I find not divulging into nachos and cheese more of a sin, they're *** amazing.

I think we need to bring back penal colonies in response to the criminal thing, oh and to stop imprisoning people for victimless "crimes".
as to the "belief" that we only have this life, that's not really a "belief" it's just that nobody has any logical reason to "believe" otherwise, if you do: please share.
lack of a belief =/= a belief again.
I have no logical reason to believe that life started for no good reason.

You really think you understand Christianity, but you don't.
If you reject God/Jesus you're off to hell for eternity with no recourse to get out and that's all you needed to know for my response to Flavin.
Human parents wouldn't even be so cruel to do such a thing even if their offspring was a vile despicable murderer. Even the few that happened to do it would be forever disturbed at their choice and likely lose hours of sleep and thought on the decision.
That's just human love at work. Scaled up to God's cosmic love, it makes no sense for him to do condemn his creations to eternal isolation. A true good deity would simply have individuals repeat the process through something like reincarnation until they got it right and entered heaven. A true 'good' deity wouldn't quit till every single creation was back in heaven. A true 'good' deity wouldn't have a place like hell exist to begin with.
But it can't be like this because religion seeks control. It doesn't care about the eternal reward because it needs the eternal torment to keep people in line so it scales things up to cosmic black and whites (heaven and hell) yet fails to fill in the blanks hoping you dont question the details.
Tell me, what would people in heaven do for eternity? You're bathing in the light of God, everything is 'good' and then what? Odds are people wouldn't get along in heaven if we're to be humans. My grandfather was the chatty type and he didn't take well to *** so im sure if he's in heaven he'd be censored for sure. If you say sin would be removed from us then you'd cease to be you, grandpa would cease to be grandpa and I'd cease to be me. We'd be someone else but it certainly wouldn't be our earthly selves. Automata perhaps?
Then what? An eternity of eating the finest food with not a care in the world? Watch the sinners squirm in hell? Eternity is a LONG time to be enjoying yourself.

You know what I find daft? The person who complains about what they read in a thread, but continues to read the thread and then admits to drowing themselves in alcohol as if that was some sort of solution.

Sin is removed from you when you die. Imperfection would be removed upon entering Heaven. That means your grandfather would still be chatty, and he wouldn't have intolerence for BS, and it wouldn't really matter if he did still have that intolerence, because people wouldn't BS.
Not every Christian believes that there is a hell. There are very little references to such a place in the Bible, FYI.

I believe gluttony is more about over indulgence. Taking more than what you need and leaving little for anyone else. Damaging not only yourself but others as well.

Gluttony is the guy who weighs 450 lbs., sweating and breathing heavily, in front of you int he line at McDonalds, while ordering 3 #1's large size and a 20 piece nugget, and then he goes on to order the main course.

How does one believe in a Heaven and not a Hell at the same time? From a Christianity standpoint, I can't see that possible. Where is the punishment for the sins?

If my body is a temple and a gift from god, why are all the enjoyable experiences deemed a sin? Why would 'God' give us these bodies programmed to enjoy such indulgences if they are sinful?
Also, don't even bother telling me it's a 'test of faith' or some other such bs.

There really isn't much of a mention of hell. The closest thing to an overt mentioning is the lake of sulfur and fire, which is where God will cast the devil and his minions during the 1,000 year reign of Christ, it does not say that people will sent there.
Some sects of the religion believe that those unfit to inherit God's Kingdom will simply die and fade from memory. No suffering, just non-existence.

So if we can get all the religious and non religious people to agree on this whole gluttony thing, we might have something to work with.
On another note has anyone tried those new popcorn chicken things at McDonald's? I'm thinking about trying them in a few hours when the store opens.
