You're always going to need Af3+2 legs for that ja haste. Can't really make a set without that.

Even as towngear, just no. +2 legs and body are basically locked, you just can't make a decent Sam tp set without them, the rest is debatable, but i can't see a scenario where that head touches phorcys even if you're over capped haste. There are too many stp options for slots where there are no haste options to even entertain using goading on Sam either. And you have rajas on the wrong side.

Played with spreadsheets a bit more and what Austar has listed for tp gets best dps. I take it that is the best set for tp atm.

Who ever crafted you the -1 hexed gear for those Tenryu pieces, send them to Bahamut Immediately.

I'll be waiting :<

Yes its generally the best current tp set for Sam. Keep in mind, if gil is an issue, swapping brego gloves and nq phos won't cut your dps drastically, but it will cut about 60-70m off the cost.

Your set: (I've included the best possible augments for your set)

- Attack: 70
- Accuracy: 47
- Haste: 25
- STR: 41
- STP: 43
- DA: 15
- Zanshin: 2
- DEX: 15

Currently accepted set:

- Attack: 63 (Skill: 7=7 ATK)
- Accuracy: 39 (Skill: 7 =6.3~6 ACC)
- Haste: 25
- JA Haste: 2.5
- STR: 21
- STP: 48
- DA: 10
- Quadruple Hits: 2
- Zanshin: 12
- DEX: 13

Summary:

Your set:

- 7 ATK
- 8 ACC
- 20 STR
- 5 DA
- 2 DEX

Currently accepted set:

- Ja haste 2.5
- 5 STP
- 2 Quadruple Hits
- 10 Zanshin (2.5% zanhasso)

Conclusion:

While the set you posted has more STR for TP phase which adds more fSTR and 15 more ATK, it simply won't match up against the Hasso enhancement (2.5%), or the Quad hit which takes priority over DA (which may put you right back to 100+ TP on rebuild after WS) for the few times they do proc. The loss of 2.5% zanhasso from AF3 body making your set even more inferior.

And if you're lucky to have a Phos+1, you can cap gear haste completely - something your set can't do w/o taking a loss in STP. Phos+1 is just a very minor advantage though.

Your set will have to adjust several pieces for WS, making it very gimp since you will have to make up for loss of 5 STP in your WS set - or depend on AM to make up for that STP.

Even if you counting on Kaiten AM, it's just not feasible on a practical application when you're low on atk buffs and have to spam Kaiten to keep AM up, when you could spam Shoha for better numbers. Not to mention Shoha generally does better on high-end content even with full atk buff.

It's worth adding that your set can't swap in AM gear which further adds 20 ATK & 8 ACC (Mars's Ring/Atheling) closing in the gap between those two sets when it comes to ATK/ACC for the times you do use Kaiten.

That set you posted really hasn't anything going for it.

Guess the only thing worth getting for tenryu is legs, hands and head. Might HQ some when i lvl up leather on me and smithing on mule. but yea kinda disapointed i have to stick to unkai :) for best results.

"Measly" 10 attack :(

During the TP phase it's measily. TP/Zanshin rate > a simple 10 attack, no?

I've a m8 who likes this set for SAM. Any feedback? I don't see anything wrong with it...

What is bad about it compared to the ideal set?

That set has been brought up numerous times. Do not use it. No reason to be using Phorcys legs over AF3 legs other than Seigan sets, and you're losing a LOT of accuracy/Zanshin with that set.

I honestly can't even see that. If you have seigan up you are either in oh ***gear or riding third eye in which case I'd use relic legs for the additional counter rate and turtle when third eye is down. Granted i can't remember the last time i used seigan intentionally.

ffxiah is saying 25% with both jas together, using the pants multiple times I can only say the effect is VERY noticeable and nice if you're using TE Seigan a lot. I just have the nq

Is the increased counter rate active with just Seigan up or must you have Third Eye as well? Perhaps I have poor reading comprehension, but it doesn't say clearly to me.

It's "Third Eye counter-attack rate" on the pants. Only way to get counter w/ Seigan but w/o TE up is Unkai head (and Counter+ gear)

Guess I'll need multiple Seigan sets, then (though I'll most likely just stick to Phorcys legs; less thinking). Appreciated.
