Vrytreya said: Instead of getting a proper response like "why?". The response was a ridicule to my such position, even a false statement like "you are not getting 5-hit from it".
This is a common response on most forums, and while I do not advocate it, it is very easy to bypass. Simply explain your reasoning up front.
If you make your statement along with the reasoning behind it, people will respond by addressing your arguments. However you did not do that. You made some offhanded comment and dismissed any counterargument. If you behave in that manner, people are going to be contemptuous right back at you.
They are under no obligation to ask you "why?" when you make an assertion contrary to popular convention. The burden of proof is on your shoulders, not theirs. If you make no effort to provide that proof, they are under no obligation to treat it seriously. Except, it wasn't what happened.
How is "or I can opt for to give 3% DA Sphere to other 2-3 relevant melee DD in party." to be made a claim that such option is better?
Wasn't "you are dropping efficiency for no reason" the 1st claim to put a certainty that my gear option is absolutely inferior?
Quote: Vrytreya said: Caring about the 0.5% increase of my damage while unable to give detailed direction to other people how the fight will go is backward prioritizing.
Those are two utterly unrelated activities; another straw man arguement.
Vrytreya said: "We kill the target 10 secs faster this way"
"So *** what? That guy will take 10 minutes resupplying"
Another straw man argument. Someone taking 10 minutes to resupply is a leadership and organization issue, and has nothing to do with the fight or what gear you're wearing. I'm pointing at the bigger picture here. Of which has the same goal as of min/max-ing your gear, I believe. Is it not?
Quote: So, properly define the conditions and circumstances you are working under, and it makes it much easier to explain when and why one piece of gear is an improvement over another. See... here, I have no intention to come with alternative gear set and prove that is better. The attempt to make a clear distinction between 2 wasn't coming from me. I gave an alternative gear set and if there's difference in damage dealing factor, I can live with it, I think it's too small for me. Why is it so hard to let go the small differences ?
If we are to dismiss the effect of noises that might happen throughout the fight, is that proper? How are we going to define a quantitative measurement of defensive value from certain set where mob attention is subject to qualitative performance of other players?
It's too clean, Motenten.
And for me, average tells me nothing of the bigger picture, moreso with a system with huge randomness.
Quote: Therefore all you can say is that "these values must fall within these bounds" and "these other values will be distributed along this probability curve", Actually I'm in favor of the analysis stops at that point. Summing all the probabilities as 1 number of "average" really wiped out the blackboard and left it with the final answer.
If the average dps is 1500, I'll be more interested seeing how the probability distributed at 1300~1700 range. Is it homogenous? Does it really spike at the calculated average like, I believe, everyone think? Or does it have spike in one or both end point at the curve? Or probably seeing the probability graph change overtime itself is more interesting.

waking up with the Caramelldansen song running through my head, it suddenly sprung to mind that 'DT' was referring to Damage Taken (I have no idea how Caramelldansen is related to damage taken, so I'll put it off to being able to think more clearly without the headache). Ha, I had a chuckle after reading that ...lol
Apparently also +s the wrong post.....

What...wow. ok. So if everyone can forget whatever the hell the last 3 pages are and just confirm what I think are obvious upgrades to my tp set...id appreciate it. I'm more concerned with xhit than haste cap..using tp bonus gk.
Currently using
Gk pole grip thew
Zelus unkai neck unkai earring brutal
af3+2 body aces hand rajas tyrants
Atheling goading af3+2 legs aces legs
So obtainable upgrades
rose strap hagneia stone Brego gloves bullwhip and the acc stp back.
Main question is Brego hands or something else?

dusk+1 better than brego in places you dont need the acc, gives like 3.5 more atk. get rid of those crappy *** ace's gloves asap, sams wearing -stp gear need to be hit.
im going to just assume that vague statement of "GK" as a random 464 delay.
this is your set?
get rid of atheling for misuuchi kappa, and switch gloves for brego or dusk, then you can drop goading for bullwhip.
itll maintain max haste, and a decent 21.8 tp/hit (if i did the math right?), leaving room open in the ws set for less stp gear.\
i wanna be a helpful kitty too, i can do more than make dumb posts

Unless you're capping fStr in your TP gear I don't see Dusk actually beating Brego.
Ace's are not bad if they don't hurt xhit.

get rid of atheling for misuuchi kappa what?
Keep atheling, 20 attack is going to do more for you then 3 more sTP that you don't need.
If the only sTP in your ws set is brutal, you'll have either 18.6 or 17.2 if you miss a hit from shoha.
So the least tp/hit you need is 20.7, anything else will be overflow.
The above set is giving you 21.5/hit.
Id switch
Unkai Nodowa > Justice Torque (prob something better that I cant think off)
Tyrant's Ring > Pyrosoul Ring / Strigoi Ring
Ace's Mufflers > Brego Gloves

So with the Hagakure going from 20 to 35 save tp I'm thinking of using the augmented Saotome Domaru +2 for when Hagakure is active.
For a 437 delay:
16.6 base ws return + 35 hagakure + 10 saotome+2a = 61.6
That leaves you with an easy two more hits for another 100%.
Would that be worth giving up Ace's Mail for ws?
I am also wondering if the savetp nerf would kill the domaru though.

Save TP nerf is probably going to be implemented alongside Hagakure change so any build considerations should be made with that fact in mind. I'd assume Domaru +2 is getting nerfed around that time too if it hasn't been already.

I assume we are going to see the Save TP nerf at the same time we going to see the Hagakure "boost". Didn't they say they boost Hagakure to compensate the Save TP nerf?

Based on the nerf details they'd have to buff Saotome+2 or else the piece makes absolutely 0 sense to ever have.
As of right now Saotome+2 gives 5 saveTP so its WSTP+5saveTP.
After the nerf it will be the greater of WSTP or 5saveTP which means only a miss would make Saotome proc. They'd have to make the body atleast saveTP 20 just to make it an alternative. 25-30 woulc make it an option.

Is the body actual Save TP, or just a similar effect? Seems like it would be impossible to tell the difference right now, but it doesn't necessarily mean that it won't still work after the other nerf.

The only fixed TP additive to a WS is called saveTP so unless its something new, it is saveTP.

Atmacite or Hagakure in combination with XI Miser's Roll would put you at cap, so testing it is definitely possible. I think it was actually tested at some point, I just don't remember the result. I'd guess independent of Save TP though since normal Save TP doesn't have the whole proc multiple times per WS bug going right now.

so I am about 25days worth of waiting for campaign *** away from a rose strap so I'm just using this pole grip with my amano right now, would it be worth using the 1% haste grip off uptala for a 5hit set?
this is what I use for tp atm, didnt have enough for hagiena stone but have that now so I feel better about 5hit gears

bamping for what grip to use D: again no rose strap for a while, pole or 1% haste grip off uptala
pretty sure I could use ganesha's neck for tping if both hits of shoha land but with 1hit like .3 tp short

Withthat setup you could use the haste grip off Uptala and switch Unkai earring to something else and still be 1 stp over 5 hit

the only other earrings I have are centaurus and pixie @_< so either way not gaining much, but the 1 haste bringing me to 25% would be better than pole for sure?

better off using pole grip until you can get rose strap. rather using haste grip ...

Sorry to jump the thread, but im trying to get a 4 hit after WS but cant see where i can get the extra TP, havent played sam in a year maybe? so trying to give it a nice refresh before jumping back on it.
Here is my TP set
Any my current WS set for Fudo
My ws Set returns 16.9 TP
Now i understand i can make adjustments by getting the ammo piece that gives STP +3 and the Rose strap for another +4, but this brings me up to 17.7
If i replaced the Pyro Ring for Tyrant that would give me some attack so wouldnt be too bad and id gain a extra 4 STP, but to get a 20 TP return i would still need to find 17 TP from elsewhere.
Now for shoha being a 2-hit WS this wont be a problem, but is there anything else i can change for my build without sacrificing DMG anymore than what i have suggested already?
Thanks for any advice you provide :)
Edit:- Figures reached by the use of FFCalc.

Do you really TP in that necklace?
Edit:
Rose Strap(in both sets ofc), af3 necklace, hagneia stone in tp set would bring you to a 5hit I belive.

No not that torque, wasnt paying attention i TP in justice. Read the first few letters well yeah... easy mistake.... Could switch to nodowa but for TP i have a 5 hit with that setup. its the WS that messes me up
Edit:- Fixed the Torque (thanks for pointing that out)
If i switch to a rose strap then i could main a Ace's Mufflers in TP as it wouldnt break 5 hit build.

here is the WS set edited for a suggested 20 tp return for a 4 hit after WS
Still needing 14 STP i cant see it possible with a single hit on SAM :/
Shoha would be simpler as its a multi hit but Fudo unless your rocking a Amano (and even then your still 7 STP shy with AM3 up) just doesnt seem plausable. As for mentioning Amano Kaiten and Fudo have similar WS sets.

Dont try to adjust your WS set to make it into a 5hit, adjust your tp set.
It doesnt hurt to go over 20tp\hit, makes it possible to have way less stp in WS gear.
What I said should fix it for you, you get enough tp from normal hits, so you can ws in the set you posted first.

Hmmm, as silly as it sounds.... i never considered it that way lol. Thanks ^^ ill do that
Ignoring everything above that i posted...
With this TP Set
I can keep a 4 hit after WS. When a Hagneia Stone becomes available, i could get that and put Justice Torque in its place. Fun times. Thanks again
Hello, looking for some advice on gear sets for TP, Kaiten and Namas.
