Well, the short story was written in '82, and the movie made in '86. Granted, I'm not quite old enough to have watched something like that as soon as it came out, but not too long after.

I watched it when I was too young. I was 9 when I saw it. NOT a good age for that movie, but probably more impacting.
For some reason the only scene that REALLY stayed with me after all these years, is the one with the bloodsuckers in the pond.

Very funny, Uri. I remember I was at least in kindergarten. It was dubbed in German. Back in the Dark Ages, movies released in the states opened later in Europe. We watched it on VHS.
Anyway, it's worth giving a try in your adulthood. It's still a good movie.

haha I used to know how to play a decent electic guitar rendition of Hakuna Matata. We had to play it for band in high school when it first came out (if that's showing my age). Classic nylon string version of course but I played around with it and our instructor let me play it with my cheap-o fake Epiphone Les Paul model at the time (have a few real GIbsons now ...) and a Crate single tube amp. Even had a lead line written for it to go along with the rest of the band. Sounded kind of neat. Wish I had a way to record it back then of us actually playing it :-(

idk, Phineas and Ferb is good and all, but I personally never really got into the music of that show. I much prefer the 90's Disney songs tbh.
That said, it's probably the best recent cartoon TV show alongside Adventure Time.
