Interesting for sure.
I'm curious how they'll do it when/if it actually does happen.

There are a lot of different ways that they could implement that and the post is pretty ambiguous. I wouldn't get totally excited about it yet, but it's cool.

Also, I did some preliminary Evisceration testing at 200 TP that indicates it has a 30% 200TP crit rate and no attack penalty. I need to go back to it on THF so I can be totally sure, but that's what I'm going with at the moment:

You show off the new template, do you think you could add which gorget/belts work? I know I've had to look up an unpopular WS a few times to see what I had available to use for it.

Should I be using Hagneia Stone when dynamis farming? I've seen myself land at 99 tp a decent amount. I was just wondering if the ammo would fix that or if maybe I should be using Charis Tiara +2, or maybe both?

Yeah, Hagneia alone should put you at exactly 5TP/hit (up from 4.8 with Potestas). Charis Tiara +2 would be 5.1 and both would be 5.3 (takes you from a 21-hit with Potestas, 20-hit with just Hagneia, to a 19-hit with both).

Because I'm running with a bard mule.

*edit* So use the tiara too or just the Hagneia Stone?

Anyway, Peldin, for your weapons (assuming Thokcha is fire) assuming /THF (since dynamis), Haste, March+3 (Iron Ram Horn+ Hands) and 5/5 set bonus, your set is pretty close to optimal when marcato songs are down without going into Salvage v2 gear (see p. 83 for march sets and non-march sets involving Salvage v2 gear), with the exception that you should be using Charis Feather.

(Hagneia < Potestas < Charis Feather)

Shifting to Charis+2 head and Hagneia is not worth it, because your support is a BRD and +13 STR/+7 attack is a lot. Reducing your number of hits isn't always optimal. If you had capped Boost-STR the story might be different.

When Marcato is up on either march, you cap magic haste and can potentially make some further changes to your set, but I'm not used to dealing with the dDEX sensitivity that comes from not having +20 on one of my weapons, so I'll leave you to the spreadsheets to figure that out for yourself.

I can't think of any elegant way to do this in the template. Once I'm done re-templating I'm going to make category pages for the skillchain properties that will contain that information, but it'll be one click further away. I could add a big bulky code section to add Gorgets based on the skillchain property, but I'd end up double-listing gorgets in cases like for Rudra's Storm where it has Darkness (Shadow/Snow/Aqua/Soil) and Distortion (Snow/Aqua) properties. I'd have to either double list those gorgets or make a gigantic code section because I can't do operations on two variables at once.

Another option would be to include elemental icons or color the property Text. Scission would be brown or have an earth icon; Liquefaction would be Red or have a fire icon; etc. I assume most of the problem you have knowing which gorget goes with which WS comes from not remembering the elements associated with each skillchain property, because after you realize "Liquefaction = Fire" then it's as simple as "Fire = Flame Belt / Gorget."

Otherwise, I know I don't think of Fire when I think of Liquefaction, or Soil when I think of Scission, or ice when I think of Induration, or lightning when I think of Impaction, or light when I think of Transfixion, or darkness when I think of Compression. In fact, the only two that kind of make sense are Detonation (okay, it's explody. Maybe air or fire?) and Reverberation (well, it can happen within any medium but for some reason the idea of pressure waves reminds me of water.)

I just have it memorized, but I always forget WS skillchain properties. My favorite thing about new salvage is that I'm duoing with a MNK, so when it's boss time we get to discover new ridiculous skillchains with WS we'd be using anyway to try to pull off before it uses a TP move that stuns us or wipes our TP:

The most ridiculous I can come up with is:

(A.)
shijin spiral
evisceration
(gravitation)
exenterator
(fragmentation)
pk/rudra's
(distortion)
shijin spiral
(fusion)
exenterator
(light)
victory smite
(light)

So far the best we've pulled off is:

(B.)
shijin spiral
evisceration
(gravitation)
exenterator
(fragmentation)
shijin spiral
(light)

But I've also determined that we can do:

Exenterator
Rudra's Storm
(Distortion)
Shijin Spiral
(Fusion)
Exenterator
(Fragmentation)

Depending on the state of my JAs and FMs.

If We do (B.) and I use Sekkanoki to pull it off, pretty much immediately after I can set up

Evisceration
Exenterator
(Fragmentation)
Shijin Spiral
(Light)

With no resists on the skillchains and cooperation on the part of the boss, we take it down in around a minute.

I don't know if it's the most effective way for us to do the fight but it's sure as hell fun.

Did some more tests with Evisceration and it looks like my main conclusion should be that testing 1H Crit WSs against Bluffalos is stupid. I'm down to 20% for the second anchor point, though the third is still 40% (88 WSs all crit).

Edit: Also, Motenten's spreadsheet seems to have Evisceration as 10%/15%/15%, so it's probably safe to bump those up.

Thank you Sylow. Your initial assumptions were correct.

Also, I'm mithra so I'm well over dDEX capped on dyna DC's afaik. I don't have FFXI open right now, but if I remember correctly, I think I'm a lil over 160 dex in TP gear.

Been 2-boxing over 400 coins (forgottens included) very consistently for the past couple weeks with one exception day. Last week I was fighting a sheep. I had to pee really bad so as soon as I proc'd it, I ran to the bathroom and just let myself idle-kill it. Came back from the bathroom to find my mule got raped by a couple sheep and his reraise had come off, so I had to solo it the rest of the run.
Which was a real pain in the *** btw because my spellcast doesn't have a marches up/down sets and rules, so I basically had to open up Notepad++ and edit my TP gear while fighting mobs.

Anyway, sorry. I kinda went off on a rant there, lol

The strongest you can make your march set as Mithra without going into neo salvage as Mithra is to make the following switches together: Nemetona ---> Charis+2, Thaumas Hands ---> Nomkahpa, Etoile+2 --> Thaumas, Twilight --> Goading, and use Charis Feather.

These changes are sort of synergistic, so if you can't make all of them, the whole thing starts to break down.

Okay, 64 consecutive crits at an 80% base for 200 TP. 88 consecutive crits at a 60% base for 300TP. I'm done testing Evisceration and will assume the TP anchor points are 10% / 20% / 40% from here on out.

Dunno if you use spellcasts based on mine, but I made an update the other day to account for high haste situations for nin and dnc. Haste+Marches/Embrava uses -HighHaste sets, and if you add Haste Samba on top of that it uses -MaxHaste.

If you do use mine and you update, make sure to update both Include files as well. And if you do that, you'll also want to update any other jobs you have, though that's just the addition of two variable settings per xml (Options.OffenseModes and Options.WSModes).

Also, spreadsheets have been updated with Byrth's findings on Evisceration.

I just write my own spellcast xmls because my knowledge of xml is very simple and it's easier to just edit my own stuff that I actually understand.

I don't even use variables because I haven't taken the time to understand them honestly. Someone told me once and I forgot now. It's not that I'm incapable of understanding, but I just have more fun doing other things unless I actually get in the mood for it.

I'm pretty sure the JP posts today say they're increasing the ratio cap to 2.25 for 1H weapons.

Without level correction this is about a 5-10% increase in our DPS in high attack situations. With level correction, the increase is substantially amplified.

Attack capped (DC Dynamis - Double Minuets):
Evisc WS: 618 -> 664 (+7% damage)
PK WS: 656 -> 725 (+10% damage)

Attack capped Ig-Alima (Chaos, Minuets, RCB, Berserk, Stalwart's):
Evisc WS: 324 -> 381 (+18% damage)
PK WS: 311 -> 381 (+22% damage)

The level correction adjustments seem to only apply to monster --> player.

Also, they're giving enemies an increased ratio cap so that having low defense sucks but leaving ours capped at 2.25.

I feel like we're back to the good ideas, awful implementation that SE is best at!

This is pretty much exactly what I was worried about earlier. Adjustments to level correction for monsters vs. players but not players vs. monsters.

I guess the 1H buff is still a stupid shitty change to our STR->Atk and DEX->Acc conversion ratio for the main hand only? What a crock of ***.

How would that look for a hume? Slowly doing Salvage whenever I can, but it's gonna take me a few more weeks at the least.

I have a question. Is Twashtar worth getting if you consider Dancer as one of your main jobs? I'm trying to decide which Empyrean to work on next and I think Dancer needs some love, considering it's probably my second favourite job.

However, it is a lengthy undertaking, especially considering it's the same path as Ukon. I want to be sure it's worth it before I commit.

I would not bother with Twash unless you are taking it to 99, but it is a good dagger.

Slycer's translation disagrees with you, Sylow. He has 1H ratio going to 2.25.
