Lets fly to Japan and kidnap whatever Dev team did the 75->80 cap increase (where we got a million tiers of DW), then make them update a private Dancer-onry FFXI server for us.

I switched my main to a light melee that gains TP more slowly, does less damage, and is less fun to play.

Are you allowed to call him a traitor since you are on SCH or COR most of the time now =P

BTW ~ this makes me sad since you two are my idol dancers!

So, I have been looking at march numbers and stuff again this morning. It is easier than ever to cap Magic Haste (Embrava, two good marches + Haste, etc.), so that's what I'm aiming this set at

.2 = (1-DW)*(1-Haste%)
.2 = (1-.3)*(1-.433-.1-X)
X = .18

So we really only need about 18% Haste and no Dual Wield in a delay-cap build. The main question is what we swap in/out.

Dagger/Dagger/____/Potestas
AF3+2/Rancor/Ghillie+1/Brutal
Thaumas/Miodio/Epona's/Rajas
Atheling/Twilight/AF2+2/AF3+2
29% Haste, only need 18%.
AF3+2 feet -> Thaumas (STR+2, DEX+1, DA+3%, STP-8, Atk+15) :: down to 25%.
Twilight -> Anguinus? (DA-1%, Acc/Atk+15) :: Down to 18%

This is sort of related, but I ran a Thaumas Coat set (basically using a normal saber dance set switching Charis +2 body --> Thaumas Coat and Charis +2 feet ---> Thaumas Nails) under normal Dynamis conditions (DC, Box step, Haste Samba, Haste Spell) and it's about full 10% behind using AF3+2 body.

So yeah, the people rating me down on the Thaumas Coat page can bite me.

Byrth, those are the changes I'd likely make. Although maybe Windbuffet would be worth considering in place of Anguinus?

I have a couple of questions

I couldn't find the exact quote but the argument of Str Dagger offhand vs. Coruscanti someone mentioned that you'd already be crit capped. Was wondering what the math/reasoning behind that is so I can better understand it.

Also, I'm confused about the correct time to use Climatic Flourish cause currently I mostly spend my steps for mostly additional TP and WSkills as I'm lacking a Twashter.

My gear is decent on my TP set, getting closer to some of the sets listed in Sylow's profile, however my WS set is lacking if that makes a difference.

Coruscanti is going to give you at least critical hit rate +5% as long as your critical hit rate is less than 96%.

You're likely to get more than that as DNC's dDEX often falls into a range where +15 DEX is going to get you at least +2% against anything DC or higher. In "ideal" circumstances, Coruscanti ends up buying you +15% critical hit rate, but the prevalence of such situations is likely rare.

That said, STR+11 is +3-4 base damage to both your weapons, and attack+22 is highly significant - to the point where situations where Coruscanti pulls ahead are rare.

Hello again everyone, much has changed. I got Twashtar now and my etoile legs so im rockin. I did have a question though. I mean, I know you guys have put in alot more work than me in dnc but how do you deal with the WAR,MNK onry crowd when it comes to getting invites?

Its really bad on my server, DNCers running around with Twilight knives etc, so i get the feeling they all just make the good ones look bad. However theres a load of these guys so DNCers reputation as a whole has suffered. I even give these people your guide as a reference and they continue to mainhand Twilight and Onyos.. Got told DNC " doesn't have the procs we need" Um.. I guess DNC don't have any dagger or most Sword ws.. and GL with that DNC JA extremely! Any advice on how to tell these people off?

ENDrant..

I levelled SCH and COR, to be perfectly honest.

DNC can be strong, and the best dancer may be stronger thana mediocre Warrior, but the best Warrior is miles ahead of the best Dancer.

That's why you take pride in being the minority that out-damages the other dancers.

I actually had some guy in an abyssea bird party tell me I was the strongest dancer he'd ever seen, and that was in abyssea with mediocre gear.

I still love DNC...but yeah it's starting to fade

Losing steam on my lil project as well...

My fear is that I'm gonna get to a point where I just give up, sell it all off, and start another job (probably COR). Also fear that I'm gonna complete it, be horribly underwhelmed, and just quit altogether -_-;

The problem with farming a level 99 Twashtar is that it's fairly easy to do on DNC (via Dynamis), but once you finish it you no longer have a use for DNC unless you want to farm more things. I have, at current prices, invested over 750 million gil in this job and I still can't really find a use for it where my jobs that are 750 million gil poorer geared aren't superior.

Now I just waste my gil on alchemy when I get the spending itch. I actually managed to sell a pair of Hexed Nails -1 last night, so the march to level 110 goes on! If Alchemy continues to put out and I make some real gil, I might just buy a 99 Mandau and pretend to be a Thief.

Here's a shock for you. The only interesting looking piece of the Murzim set is crappy:

Apart from the fact that it's pretty much impossible to get new abjurations or HQ Hexed pieces, how does this look for a PK build?:

I don't have either of the Khepri pieces or Myrmex Mittens, but I could probably get Myrmex mittens if I just kept shouting for it.

Here's some interesting stuff:
* Hexed Kecks currently cost 3mil to synth and are Tier 0. People are buying the NQs for 5mil and only 1 pair have been sold on my server (2 made, probably). The ingredients are very rare. If a pair of -1s are ever made, we can expect them to sell for 50mil+. The leg abjuration is fairly obtainable with enough spamming.

* Hexed Bonnet currently costs about 1.5mil to synth and a few people might be Tier 1 on it now. 0 of them have ever sold, because Head abjurations are super rare. If they did sell, it would probably be break-even or loss. I'd estimate at least 20mil for these, probably up to 30. The head abjuration is almost impossible to obtain, for me at least.
