lol, it's sad how true it is though.

I had a lot of fun gearing and playing Dancer, but I really might as well do everything on Thief now. Here are the benefits of DNC over THF, as I see them:
* More survivable (Option of Fan Dance)
** You can sub anything and still heal yourself
* Dual Wield and Haste Samba (much more damage)
* Climactic is more useful than SA/TA when solo
* Many things make DNC more desirable in a party (Steps, Sambas, etc.)

Advantages of THF over DNC:
* TH3+
** You can sub anything and still have TH
* Can wear Mandau

I don't have Mandau and still find myself using THF over DNC in Salvage, Abyssea (for most things), Limbus, etc. I use neither of them in hard content (BLM) unless I'm dualboxing my mule on a real job and go THF for PW. The only event where I really prefer DNC to THF these days is when I kill Proto-Omega or farm Tier 2 VWNMs for upgrades.

Honestly, you could probably take a dancer to Nyzul and be just as productive as the blu. I'd recommend 3 heavy DD's + mnk though.

The biggest problem I have conceptually with getting Twashtar these days is that DNC is probably closer in practice right now to NIN than any other job in terms of what you'd actually want to use it for, and while I don’t have a problem with somebody feeling like that sort of thing is important enough to him or her to justify making an Empyrean to do it (though I don’t agree), NIN gets a much greater return for a much smaller investment.

Yeah sadly i do see my thf more than my dnc for content these days unless there already is another thf available. (Unles im asked to bring my gimp *** rng...which for VW is 98% of the time).

Just find it kinda sad that I and a lot of us put so much work into this job just to not get to use it all that much....

Bringing a DNC in place of a BLU to N-Nyzul is like hiring Ke$ha to lead your Alcoholics Anonymous support group.

What I mean is the blu is ***. Our 99 tizona blu switched to his 85 masa sam and our win rate went from 1/6 to 1/3. 2 100 wins with the blu and 11 with the sam.

Sounds like your 99 Tizona BLU is pretty bad.

Someone is free to correct me if I'm wrong, but Tizona being better than Almace in N-Nyzul seems unlikely. I imagine you'd be best off engaging while mainly utilizing spells to tear through EP-DC targets, until swings and Embrava give you enough TP to CDC -> Amorphic something at ~full health. OA2-3's value would deteriorate substantially in such cases.

If anyone could produce data suggesting 99 Tizona could beat out even 90 Almace in Neo-Nyzul, I'd be pretty surprised.

Tizona (99): 66*99 = 6534
Almace (90): 61*90 = 5490

6534 > 5490, so Tizona > Almace

Saber dance TP hasn't really changed, and that's the most important one:

How do you think I feel? It's as if I found love, lost it, and now must go on knowing I will never experience its tender caress ever again.

they need to quit the game ASAP. While Almace would be superior in Nyzul due to the fact that you won't be able to keep OA2-3 up or utilize it as well in that event, it shouldn't be doing that poorly.

fact of the matter is a DNC won't be capable of matching the frantic killspeed of a BLU in nyzul, nor will it be able to offer the same auxiliary boons. the same is to be said of a MNK, barring boss floors, however thye still dont have the bonuses that a BLU would be tossing out on those.

I'm not going to name names, but one of the Tizonas on Fenrir is uh... yeah. Waste of alexandrite doesn't even begin to describe. There are other more competent owners here as well though; granted they usually use their Almaces...

It can't be as bad as the 1000000000000000000000000000000000000's of Apoc drks? I haven't assumed a drk was good with an Apoc since 07'
