/sleeps w/ 1 eye open! Does Athos's tights really gives 5% crit dmg boost? How do I test it?
How about Athos's Tabard's? same 5%? Any specific good target to check evisceration base crit rate? I'm trying to figure whether my Evis set can already reach 100% crit rate with RR & GH. Put them on and throw/shoot something in a starter zone. You can calculate the damage you should get and compare it to the damage you got to determine your critical hit damage bonus.

This is definitively off-topic, but refering to Sylow's comment about clarification, so here goes. All this math stuff is still no territory to me and I really wish I'd browsed around BG sooner, highly interesting stuff. Finally understand dDex feels good. But here's a question. You know how ppl talk about diminishin returns? Can you explain to me why that is? So far I assumed that say for Rudra's Storm, Dex eventually suffers from diminishing returns because it's only a 60% mod. So based on that I thought that since Exenterator has a 100% agi mod, it won't suffer from dimishing returns as quickly. Now... I just know how little I know. So if you guys could clarify when dimishing returns occur and why, I'd be super grateful!
On the same note, when does AMK dex/agi hat become the worse option compared to Ocelo. Headpiece? I understand the dex on that O. hat is nicer, but wouldn't 2% ws dmg and 2% crit hit dmg+ still outweigh? Thanks for the great thread! Keyoku said: » O. hat The best way to understand diminishing returns is through kittens.
Ex.) I have one kitten. I buy one kitten. I have increased the number f kittens I own by 100% I have 100 kittens. I buy one kitten. I have increased the number of kittens I have by 1%. Basically diminshing returns means "the benefit I get from adding the same amount. Of something decreases as I add more." Also we don't discuss WS augment hats in the DNC forum because it's assumed you will upgrade a waltz timer hat.
o and for Rudra you have to use AF3+2 head for climactic flourish augment, anyway.

Okay so.
Do Athos's Boots replace Ballerines? I would love to drop these. Not sure, but I feel like Eurus' definitely already did?

Lol, was a derp moment there. Of course AF3+2 hat for Rudra's. AMK hat augments were just for CdC pre-Ocelo. Headpiece. And cool, makes sense what you said about dimishing return, thanks kindly.
Eurus' are a minor upgrade if they are an upgrade. The Parrying skill +8 won't help you against anything that you need to wear a hybrid evasion set against.
I think I'm just going to use Athos's in that set and call it good enough. It's a substantial evasion boost from Charis +2 and lets me drop a piece of gear, which is more useful than ever due to having to carry an AGI set for Exenterator now. I've got athos slotted for my hybrivade set. So I can concur with that.
I do not however have any luck with beetle. You lose 1% chance of not being able to do double damage during Samba.

Things can be easily tested that way. It's 4% crit dmg boost, definitely not 3% or 5% 429 normal hit with harrier +2 + wooden arrow, 777 crit without pants. floor((floor(429*1.25)*1.45 dead aim) = 777 798 crit with pants.floor((floor(429*1.25)*1.49 dead aim+pants) = 798 Lakshmi.Byrth said: » Eurus' are a minor upgrade if they are an upgrade. I agree that Athos is the way to go though for inventory's sake if nothing else, and depending on your gear you may be at 25% haste in a hybrid set with Athos anyway. STP-3 and 0.4% haste vs 2 AGI, 10 DEX, 10 acc (lol), 5 eva, and inv+1... Yay! Thanks VZX!
Also, you are probably not quite Evisceration crit rate capped in Abyssea, but you're close. It has approximately a 10% Crit rate bonus at 100TP. 75% (RR/GH) + 5% (Rancor) + 2% (Kacura) + 4% (Lux) +10% (Evisc Bonus) + ?% (2-piece Athos's Bonus) = 96+9% Crit rate The Evisc Crit Rate Bonus testing technically didn't exclude 15%: http://robonosto.blogspot.com/2010/06/weapon-skill-critical-hit-rate-bonus.html ... and we also don't know what the crit bonus from Athos's set is. But if everything is the most probable value, I'd say you're about 2~3% shy of being capped. and what kind of contributions have you made to this thread?

Byrth is one of the greatest contributors to the DNC community, and the community as a whole really. You should learn to stay quiet if you don't know what is going on.
Is he trying to say those athos gloves work on Non elemental ws too or what? That's all i mustered up on that..
I was too focused on what's written in Athos's gloves description that it says "Elemental weapon skills", of which Byrth said they actually corresponds to WS SC properties, decomposed. That's why I tested Flaming Arrow first. The reason why I use ranged attack WS because ranged attack has properties that pDIF = 3.00 at capped cRatio, not varying like melee, hence removing the necessity to test it multiple times.

It's lightningday now, and I've shot 3 Jishnu's Radiance on Rabbit outside Ronfaure. All 3 of them result on 1017 DEX:95+7 = 102 -> 60% DEX -> 61 -> @ ->51 Base : (100+5+51+38)*1.75 = 339 339*3(capped ratk pDIF) = 1017. This confirms that the Lv3 properties of WS (in this case, Light) won't be decomposed for element matching. SE is so random. Mekira-Oto seems to use the decomposed Light/Darkness properties... actually, now that I look at his testing it doesn't appear Dasva tested the helm with a decomposed tier 3 skillchain. He just tested Atma of Echoes. I will have to remember to update that later
Also fupa, this was added over a week ago. I'm sorry that we aren't discussing things that you can find on commonly available sources, but it wouldn't be very interesting if we were. Level 99 Terpsichore's PK get damage+30%. It would demolish Exenterator even without AM3, but I am still not sure it is worth using Terpsichore at all.
Also, the level 99 Mythics/Empyreans/Relics appear to be made of unobtainium. |
