Okay, it seems that completing a different AF+1 upgrade (that's still completely bugged because it asked for 5 Rem's tale, and I had to turn in *exactly* 10, but then the NPC still only deducted 5???) "fixed" the NPC so I can now turn in DNC items???? Yeah, beats me.

Just in case anyone else is having this issue:

Quote:
Okay, so the body would not work either. Here's an update, because I can now turn in DNC items.

1.) I tried to turn in my Magus Jubbah +1 with the appropriate items, with 5 Rem's Tale: Chapter 2 as requested. The NPC did not take it.
2.) I tried to turn in my Magus Jubbah +1 with all 19 of my Rem's Tale: Chapter 2, and the NPC did not take them.
3.) I tried to turn in my Magus Jubbah +1 with 10 of my Rem's Tale: Chapter 2, and the NPC did finally accept them.
4.) After receiving my Assimilator's Jubbah, I am now able to trade DNC items along with 5 of the appropriate tale and upgrade them.

Initially I thought there was just a screw-up due to the gendered nature of DNC artifact gear. But this shows the issue is a lot more bizarre than that!!

At first I thought I was just stupid and doing something wrong, but Jinjo was also unable to get the NPC to accept my items when I made him try to trade them for me.

Maxixi Tiara is +40 seconds to Sambas (Dancer's was +30), so it's an extra 10 seconds.

Honestly, I was relieved to hear this just as confirmation that some JA enhancements were actually upgraded. Here's to hoping that we get +60 seconds on the iLevel 119 version and finally have 3 minutes of Haste Samba (with Saber Dance's bonus).

Quiahuiz Leggings give +5% DA damage, which is probably going to make them the best TP legs for DNC for a long time.

Me too! Me too! I've updated all of my sets as well:

TP:
ItemSet 233269
High Haste

ItemSet 218978
Low Haste

WSs:
ItemSet 243881
Exenterator

ItemSet 287555
Pyrrhic Kleos

ItemSet 194288
Climactic Rudra's - I don't actually use Athos's pieces, but they'd be in an ideal build.

ItemSet 314816
Evisceration

JAs:
ItemSet 169186
Waltz

I still need the new AF+2 Head/Body/Feet, and then my Dancer will be pretty much fully geared. I suppose I could go for more-perfect augments on my Iuitl gear, but there are only so many times that I can make myself trade that NPC.

By "a long time", do you mean until Kamihr Drifts Delve is released and the boss drop legs trump the WKR version?

(but yeah, these legs or the seemingly inevitable boss "+1" version are pretty great for DNC)

Is that Rudra's set really 'ideal'?
-I would assume that Khepri Jacket would be better than athos.
-Also, in the past i've seen many post DEX neck+belt are better than the fTP bonus from elemental gorget/belt for Rudra's... does the increased base dmg on the weapons favor the fTP bonus from gorget/belt now?
-Same idea as above for epona's/brutal vs Dex... (I've noticed much bigger spikes in dmg from DA/TA now though... so i've been hoping its better)
-Finally... beeline vs the new cape. Thinking about it, i guess that new cape really would be better. (damn that cape i just grabbed a beeline b4 this update!)

P.S. I love you guys... Byrth is my hero.

It's not ideal. I just didn't care about looking at it more. The legs still work, though.

Climactic Rudra's is okay, but it's really more of a "once in a while" kind of WS. I've used it twice since starting to play DNC again.

Well... you have a Terpsichore. I'm stuck with my lolTwashtar. I need to make that WS work for me. I made a Twash bc of its high base dmg and low delay... made a great main hand and was like 1/3 the effort of a Terp. The WS+aftermath was just a bonus. Now with its gimpy base dmg i need to keep aftermath up to make it worthwhile... which means relying on Rudra's more. I'm so disappointed with the base dmg on Twash. I was expecting something like 95~. I'll just have to finish getting it to 119 and hopefully its not as bad as it seems.
/crymode off
Using rudra's with my shark dagger's high base dmg gives me hope though... its a pretty big boost over my 99Twash.

Set updating time! (I'll probably do these 1-2 at a time)

I. Basic TP
Uncapped Magic Haste | No additional accuracy required | No defense considerations

ItemSet 316938

This set assumes minimal buffs versus mid to high range enemies in Adoulin (you have at most haste and haste samba) and are eating red curry buns, because you're not a cheap ***. There are obviously a wide range of dagger combinations available, but this is the best and your choice of dagger doesn't really affect this setup. You can use Atheling instead of Rancorous if you're afraid!

Outside of Adoulin or if you forgot to set Ionis you'll want to use Ejmekal Mask.

This is obviously a high-tier set. You don't lose a lot by downgrading to easily accessible gear such as Manibozho R15 and Iuitl .

a basic tp set includes dancer mythic weapon? god I cringe seeing the top tier tp set, double afterglows? : p

"There are obviously a wide range of dagger combinations available, but this is the best and your choice of dagger doesn't really affect this setup"

By basic I mean you don't have Celine Dion, Captain Jack Sparrow, and some dipshit kid with a lampshade on his head blowing bubbles at your disposal.

It's the set referenced as "TP-Low-None" (No march - No accuracy - No defense) in my spellcast. I feel that all of the gear is fairly accessile, but you don't lose much by tossing in Iuitl and Manibozho in other slots.

II. March TP
Capped Magic Haste | No additional accuracy required | No defense considerations

ItemSet 316940

Should you find yourself hanging out with a bard, you need to take into account the delay floor, so you don't want to wear dual wield gear. I assume you are not capped on attack. I generally always assume I'm uncapped on attack, though unless there can be absolutely no doubt to the contrary. I generally don't find the additional layer of specialization required to differentiate between capped attack and non capped attack sets to be worth the return.

The weird thing is that Thaumas is only about a 1-3% increase over Maxixi Casaque +1 and Maxixi Casaque +1 is a lot better defensively. This is probably due in part to the uncapped attack consideration, but Thaumas's days may be numbered, at least for DNC.

III. Accuracy Sets

Fighting things unbuffed where accuracy is required is uncommon, but here is a "middle" accuracy set that you might find useful if you encounter a THF-type enemy.

ItemSet 316945

Additionally, if you're creating your own accuracy set with the gear available to you, this gives you an idea of the kinds of things you can swap out.

Once you are dealing with higher tier content, you might find yourself in situations where you are graced with the presence of a BRD, but still need to increase your accuracy.

ItemSet 316948 ItemSet 317009

My Iuitl gear is augmented with +Accuracy, I'll explain why in the hybrid set post. I use Toetapper instead of Letalis because I carry Toetapper anyway and would rather not carry Letalis around where avoidable.

Personally, I say "*** it" and I go DNC to Difficult AA.
Are you going /nin or /war?

Curious because /nin allows for more use of Saber Dance, but having to recast shadows really hurts dps. Wondering if you can go /war for the permanent-but-less DA and ride Fan Dance to parse better.
