From WIki:

Roughly equivalent to the White Magic spells Cure IV in terms of HP healed and enmity generated, but Cure V in terms of variance.

Heals 1 more HP for each additional point of VIT, and 2 more HP for each point of MND.

Enhanced by all "Cure Potency" enhancements, such as Light Staff/Apollo's Staff, Anwig Salade, and Desultor Tassets (with Cure Potency augments).

Not affected by weather/day effects and Korin Obi.
Enhanced by Healing Magic skill.

Light Arts from Scholar support job offers the highest boost to skill available to Blue Mages.

Enhanced by Divine Seal.

Does not stack with Diffusion.

20' maximum casting distance.

Soft cap at 550 HP healed.

Your magic has the same exact equation as white magic except it has different rates and constants added to it after you solve for cure power.

It will always be Cure Potency > MND > VIT > Healing Magic

For every 1 MND you'll need 3 VIT or 5 Healing Magic.

More importantly you'll only see an increase from using healing magic every 5 levels. If you have say 399 magic then 1 healing magic on your equipment would give you the same boost as 5 would since 5 wouldn't put you at 405.

This is all of course assuming I know what I'm talking about as I am no blue mage, but have always assumed it worked the same way.

I haven't thoroughly researched the subject, etc., but using Errant gear has gotta be dumb.

You'll definitely want to put MND in the slots where you can't get Cure potency. Preferably, try to use gear that doesn't have -vit attached to it if possible (like errant stuff)

some things you could upgrade:
anwig salade (with cure potency +3%, MND +4 augment)
blitzer poleyn (with cure potency +5% augment)
praeco slacks
Morrigan's robe

Furen's cure calc

It's a bit outdated but I think it still applies for fruit. Might help avoid some math if you prefer to see what sets might be best for you.

I was thinking about this topic and the set you are using Cardinalgate and decided to just look up blu gear for it.

Apollo's Staff
Verse Strap +1
Quartz Tathlum
Maat's Cap / Teal Chapeau
Aife's Medal
Neptune's Pearl
Neptune's Pearl
Praeco Doublet
Mv. Bazubands +2
Aquasoul Ring
Aquasoul Ring
Tempered Cape
Cognizant Belt
Praeco Slacks
Morrigan's Pgch.

Cure Potency: 18%
MND: 84
VIT: 9

Also, Crm. Scale Mail or Blood Scale Mail works fine as a body. If you cant get those then... I guess errant would work but keep in mind the -vit is hurting your mnd.

I'm not sure if MND would beat out potency but I use Oretania's cape and serpentes cuffs + serpentes sabots

At lv 90 when I tested Mavi+2 hands and morri feet beats Serpentes set outside of Abyssea.

Not sure about this lv though.

Same, with teal feet instead of morry (which have 4 MND less), and the difference was very marginal, something like < 10 hp.

Also I prefer having the -delay from af3+2 hands
