[Dev] SCH - In Regards to Regen Spells

| In regards to Regen spells, we don’t have any plans to limit them to scholars only, but we are looking to largely reduce their casting time for scholars. As long as no critical bugs crop up, we’re hoping to implement everything in the next Test Server update so you can test it out (recast timers won’t change).

Maybe if they make something like Modus Veritas that worked on Regen with a relatively low recast that'd be cool (say ~20sec recast?). They should just give us damn Cure V.

They need to change the system in such a way that giving away proc-spells/abilities does not render a job useless. Obviously this isn't going to happen, and obviously they're not going change their minds about helices. :/ idfkman :(

It honestly doesn't make much sense. I guess because Regen is a tactical spell? Dunno. Would have made more sense giving SCH Cure V in Addendum:White.

Not that I agree with it, but from the developer's POV, it makes sense. Its along the lines of a curative helix.

I'm very excited about this! I played with it on the test server and I don't recall if it was the exact number or not, but I believe Regen V was 64 tick with head +2, and duration was 1:45. It was more than Embrava, I remember that for sure =o

Personally, I'm happy with anything they give to the job at this point. I'm not happy when they take stuff away (storm exclusivity, helix exclusivity, MV nerf). I've played games where potent regen healers were pretty good (Bards in Rift come to mind), so we'll see how this turns out in the end.

I don't know what people are complaining about. Last time I was on the test server (with AF3+2) Regen 4 was lasting 4½ mins with Perpetuance doing 58hp/tick. And apparently Regen V is the same duration @64hp/tick. Accession that across your PT,... don't forget you can still use Cure 4 to supplement it.
Not to mention Embrava + Regen.
Or, imagine how much easier a WHM's job will be in Voidwatch with a SCH Regening the whole alliance. The mp savings! :o
(Oh yeah, the helices thing still sucks though.)

idk how much it reflects in the test server atm, but SE said several time that they are making helixes more reflected by higher level and magic skill, so a 99rdm/49sch helix wouldn't come close that of a 99sch/rdm.
also... i think i remember them saying they are still working on making it more effective when its high level sch main, so i think its still not showing on the test server the way they will have it... i think what i just said makes sense >.> i've seen the devs explain this before but people still mad about it, so thought i'd say that

I couldn't agree more. SCH's usefulness does seem to revolve around x over time. I'm glad they got something useful that set them apart from a meh whm or a decent blm.

helix changes are suppose to already be on the test server, some people have tested those and compared to regen the boost seemed severely lacking to say the least (at least until mod verita is fixed) at least in terms of practical applications

I almost never used Regen to be honest. Always seemed that I wasted more MP using it.

except for the fact that since sch was first introduced its always had lower level requirements for regen than whm

Even if WHM was the lowest level I personally don't feel like we lost anything. SCH needs to get more involved in the current party situations.

Regen's terrible duration coupled with its longer than normal cast time was what kept me from using it much. If it was 2 minutes or more it'd have been more worth it but keeping regen up on more than 1 person with everything else you have to do just gets to be a bit annoying. 4:30 duration, even given buffs, is very nice though the recast does kinda suck. A few pieces of haste gear in there and it wouldn't be that bad. Overall I'm pretty impressed though.
