Your 20-60 dmg swings aren't going to keep up the the real DDs 100-200+ dmg swings.
We've taken that into consideration.

Unless you have a BRD, your usefulness as a COR is greater in the pulling department than the DD department.

Ever used Joyeuse? It really is alive. Low delay too. So while a..DRK may do 200dmg a swing, a Cor with joyeuse can have 2 attack rounds if not more by then and at 60 dmg a swing thats 120dmg not counting if it double attacks which is 180dmg. I do like to think my cor does decent enough dmg to DD in merit ptys. If your's doesnt..thats ur thing. Iv seen cor that only sub whm b/c they only want to be support, iv seen some that only sub nin b/c they only really want to support and pull and then others that sub rng b/c they like dealing dmg. Its all personal preferance imo. I personally do not pull as cor and in any pty that wants me to, i refuse unless theres no other "pulling" job.

I like to sub Nin for an excuse to use my new Suppa. :x

I've only subbed Whm twice: Lv10-15 in the dunes (even then, was usually /Dnc lol) and when unlocking Detonator with my Nin friend (he doesn't have /Whm or /Dnc, so had to keep us safe).

I've actually never subbed Whm in a party, and I'm working on /Rng now. I've just been /Nin for like, ever. >.>;

In a PT with BRD, Cor shouldn't be pulling. Heck, in my totally biased opinion, you shouldn't even HAVE both a BRD and a COR, because you really only need one of them in meripo. There's always plenty of SAMs, RNGs, etc LFG on Ramuh. Unless I was in a bind, I wouldn't get more than one "pulling and support" job.

With a BRD, RNG would be out-DDing you as a COR, if it's worth its weight. I don't run parsers or take pictures to enlarge my epeen, so I have none to show. But I know plenty of end-game CORs, and none of them would dare ask me as a rng to pull in a meripo with them. It just doesn't make sense!

I'd prefer to have 2 cor and 1 brd then load up on DDs. I'm not saying that Cor shouldn't pull if there's no bard. I'm saying I personally wouldn't merit as a COR without another brd or cor puller.

In my Cor+Brd meripos, we kill so fast I just do Chaos+Cors roll for more exp. I like Sam roll though, it sped up unlocking Detonator so fast. :x

Honestly it depends on the player. I've been in PT's with BRD/NINs that don't cast shadows and link the Tokyo Bullet Train. Half teh time they needed a raise because they never made camp or to the healer.

You can have a decently geared SAM outpull a COR or RNG (Been there done that). I even PT'd once with a PUP that was an AWESOME puller.

It depends on the person's skills as a puller. Some can, others shouldn't even leave their Mog House.

Coming in abit late into the thread but for the record:

COR isn't the most ideal puller for the simple fact that their best guns are 600 delay and Quick Draw is restricted to 2 charges with a minute recast each. 50 seconds with capped merits, 45 seconds with Mirke that contains QD recast augment. Not to mention they are more busy at a distance shooting and running between melees and mages for buffs every 60 seconds to really keep a chain going past 5.

A Peacemaker is a viable option but cannot trump the simple effectiveness of a thief. For quick pulls i'd recommend a Leo Crossbow +1, which has a really low delay.

ppl who think cor is an ideal puller obviously havent lvled cor. Can a cor pull...sure. Is it optimal for anyone in the pty? i dont think so.

pulling is a 3rd or maybe even 5th priority for cor...if you go /mage.
