AMC walking dead [Spoilers]
The important thing is that she's dead.
The episode, while boring, was pretty powerful and I'm not even a huge fan of the show.
I think Andrea's death was perfect. She sucks, but it was done right. She spent the entire half season trying to bring some sense of humanity back to the two groups just like Dale used to do.. Who she obviously was very connected to. The suicide part was a bit cliche' but after the season 1 finale it kind of made sense for her to finally get it done herself. Finally, don't quote me on this because I haven't re-watched it, but I think she gets bit in relatively the same area her sister did. Most importantly, a shootout between the groups in my opinion would have been ridiculously stupid. The fact that the Governor had his people defy him, before he killed them, and then had the rest abandon him, now he's alone and powerless. I'd imagine that'd be worse for that sociopath than simply dying, and I'm sure it's not over between he and the group, obviously. TL;DR It was decent. Her sister was bit on the arm as she was exiting the RV. Don't ask why I remember this so clearly, but I do! lol left arm too unless I'm mistaken.
The problem with Andrea was that they tried to make her the moral center of the cast, which isn't a bad thing, but in order to give her some sense of neutrality, they had to make her the biggest *** moron on the show. She just came off as totally oblivious and naive which aren't traits you would expect from someone from Rick's group.
But with her gone, the only person on the show that still needs work I think is Rick. The whole ghost wife thing didn't really work. Found this on guildwork today.
![]() I think I almost literally pee'd myself. True. I was a little disappointed that was the finale. ACK! I really didn't want to board the complain train, but... I do have this sickeningly cliche need to root for the underdog. I honestly thought that Milton could have added an entire new dynamic to the group. I mean, who wouldn't want at least one cerebral tinkerer in a post-apocalyptic scenario? I thought offing him nixed a lot of potential for furthering the show. I don't get why everyone hates Andrea. People make mistakes, and I think that makes her character more relatable. EDIT: Was Milton in the comics? I was doing the same stuff while watching it, Bart. "If you can't multitask just SHUT THE *** UP, ***!" lol I didn't really care if she lived or died, but that was painful to watch.
Edit! I didn't mind the finale. I think they should have extended its time to add more though. :< I'm real late to this show, as much as I love horror, I couldn't catch it when I tried on the pilot but Netflix and DVR were ftw.
Years later I'm caught up. Late as ***to this thread so I scanned a few pages back. Phoenix.Amandarius said: » Rick has an English accent irl :o The finale was a great episode but a let down for a season ending. Like Spence said, Andrea messing with those pliers and taking her sweet time didn't fit her character at all. The Governor being a total psycho wasn't shocking and he should have been killed, very much the same way Sons of Anarchy keeps letting Clay live, his character is terrible, just kill em off and move on. Not hating though, the show fkn rocks, if it didn't we wouldn't care enough to complain, Caitsith.Zahrah said: » Fairy.Spence said: » Staying true to source material or not, that finale was meh at best. Thank you for restating it! Ugh! Why can't people enjoy things purely for entertainment value anymore? because they had great source material and took a giant ***on it with this show. If the show was actually good (not saying it HAS to be the comic) and more enjoyable, then feelings would be different. What is with people on insisting that books and comic books are 10x better then their TV adaptions? In regards to the walking dead, why would you want an exact copy done from the comics? to make it more predictable?
The creators are on board with this new direction so... get over it :S YouTube Video Placeholder

The creators are on board with this new direction so... get over it :S Game of Thrones does a good job keeping true to the source material while making it work on TV. Its nothing about wanting the show to be like the comic, its about the comic being very well done and good, but the show just being bland and not very compiling. Hell, all of season 2 was just boring and unneeded. I have a lot of friends that watched the show without reading the comics, said they loved the show at first but lately its just been going down hill lately. They then started to read the comics and all of them were like "oh wow, this is a lot better and everyone is way more likeable" Season 2 to 3.5 I believe was pretty much story building and filler for the other half of 3. I enjoyed both the comics and the show. And yea Game of Thrones is REALLY well done, I'm going through the books now and it's almost exactly like it is in the show.
I'm really more surprised that so many people like Game of Thrones as much as they do. Walking Dead has been slow lately... but (edit: I think) Game of Thrones is hokey, the acting is terrible, and the drama is super-contrived. I can barely stand to watch it anymore.
There might be to many *** in the comic to follow on TV huehuehuheuhueh
I don't really want to argue about if the books or tv is better. I like and read/watch both for different reasons. Daryl is probably my favorite character overall and he's not even in the comics. I didn't like the TV Andrea, and (like many) was kinda glad she died. The comic had a lot of depressing/shocking scenes in it I'm kinda glad they changed around or kept out.
My beef is more not that they're changing the story, but they're changing the characters. Drastically. Generally when you have a big fanbase, they're more in love with the characters than they are the story. Changing Andrea to a mewling idiot then killing her off was a huge affront to how cool her comic character is. Changing or expanding the story to make it original is cool enough to see something different on TV, but what's the point of making most of the characters completely different people? At this point the show is just a bunch of strangers vaguely following the arc of the comic. I read a few of the issues of the comics and wasn't impressed.
I didn't like the art style or how it was written, maybe it got better later but the first ones were meh to me. As for the show, I only really watch it now just to have something to kill time with XD Tbh, when I got the first comic from some random Comicon years ago, I read through it and thought "wow, what a 28 days later ripoff" (coma, waking up in the hospital in the middle of the apocalypse) and didn't touch it again for awhile. Was finally bored at my sisters house one day and read through what she had, and have been buying the rest since then. (Imo) they're worth the read.
There was talk about adding Daryl into the comics but still nothing as of #108 ;; It's not the story that is the problem for me, it's everything else lol

I know this is a TWD tread, but since you mentioned it... Enuyasha said: » She is whiny, always gets in the way, and has some sort of complex that *** up everything. Im glad she is dead..the only person i want to die now with all my soul is Carl. My soul for that kid to be eaten by a zombie nom pit. Admittedly, I felt the same way about Andrea in the beginning. I'm actually interested in seeing a flash-forward or something with Carl. I'm really curious as to how his experiences will effect his path. I don't want to see him axed. I don't know how and when :c sweet start to the season.
Idk maybe they brought some infected food in or the virus is contagious like a cold or something. Edit: And Daryl shook hands with him. Will rage if they do that to Daryl. |
