Final Fantasy XIV 2.0
I love how people don't want pay 50 cents a day to play...
they better not recharge me for me to own version 2.0... almost a year away from version 2... sigh

This alone makes me happy. 2013 PS3 release is extremely disappointing. I won't even be interested in the game by then :/

This is what they should've done to start with! I'll see what the next big patch is like before committing to anything most likely. Not that I have anyone to do anything with right now.
i would pay for something that i enjoy lol. as long as its not like $25 per month. if you cant afford dont play it just saying. this is the only game that i like to play even a year later. i think everyone could spare $20-$25 a month so we could get more content. if you dont have just ask your mom and dad for it.
Calemero said: pay for it or don't pay for it no one will miss you if you don't. Never thought of it this way, but SE's E3 performance is definitely gonna be mindblowing this year. Heck if they can show off Versus13 as well it'll prolly be a win year for them.
I could definitely see them winning game of the show for either of those two lol
wow 2013 lol. at least they are still trying to fix this disaster.

The mention of Summoner also has me very interested...:) Mistress Cassanova said: » Shiva.Viciousss said: » wow 2013 lol. at least they are still trying to fix this disaster. This disaster.. hmm, when was the last time you touched FFXIV? (If you even own it). Well I played it about 3-4 days ago. I wouldn't call it a disaster, but I don't think it's worth the subscription fee right now. I'll play for the storyline which encompasses the changes, but I don't think I'll be playing full time at all until 2.0. Cancelling my FFXIV till april at the earliest. brb

I'm not going to summarize it, because there is no way, this IS the summarized version. Believe me, I could make it much longer. "Seventh Umbral Era storyline to give way to new storyline after version 2.0, and will not be replayable."
Do they mean that they're taking it out completely? Or you just won't be able to play through those missions again after beating them, but new players can still play them on their first run through of the game's missions? It seems like people that start in 2.0 wont be able to play that portion of the story at all. That's what I got from it. I think it's mostly going to be there to try to make the would be sudden changes to completely different environments not be so sudden. I'm pretty happy about all the changes, except we're losing our zones? Idk, I kinda liked that FFXIV had large-scale zones, and not tiny crappy ones like in XI. If they could've just knocked em down halfway instead, and not (by the looks of the "new" Coerthas map) down to about 1/20th of the size.. So long as they can keep the "feel" of the zones, and make them still appear geographically the same as the old ones, I guess it's alright =/a
With a graphic engine rehaul, and with them saying "Appearances of certain objects will display differently" so they are letting us "change the race, gender, etc of our characters", does that mean the current customizable features will be abolished? Certain faces, etc.. I mean I worked hard to get my mi'qote looking exactly as I want her, It'd suck if they abolished some of those things and made us re-choose. Although I'm pretty sure it just means, hey if you wanna keep everything as is, go ahead, if you wanna be a manthra >_> here you go. I don't know all that much about what it's taking for them to do this, so I'm just unsure =o But yeah =| mostly concerned about the zones/music that I've (strangely) grown to like a lot. It wouldn't make sense for it to be replayable seeing as the story is explaining why the world is going to change so drastically. This is probably my favourite part of the new update. Even though I never played Wow I was a gigantic sucker for the whole cataclysm storyline and how it was presented, it was live. It wasn't something that you just woke up to, you saw the event unfolding. That is amazing. Imagine how psyched you'll feel when there's 2-3 days until the whole transformation and everything is going absolutely crazy in game? Exciting. Very exciting. I don't think it's fair to call it "large-scale" because they're just made up of little separate areas connected by skinny pathways. It's basically XI without loading screens, but with no unique landscapes as a consequence. If adding a few seconds of black screen between the areas in a region means they can make each one unique and interesting, I think it's a very small price to pay. I don't mind so much that there will be the typical "zone" time with a black screen, etc, I just mean the look and feel. By viewing the concept art of say, "Upper La Noscea", it looks like part wasteland, part forest, and part beach. How are they going to make it feel like you're still in one specific region? I.E Limsa Lominsa is a kind of seascape/plains area, the current La Noscea zone captures that, I think.. I'm seeing brown rocky looking areas large dark cliffs, with orange crap oozing outta them, granted its a very small picture and zooming blurs it even more. Then some ocean looking stuff in the southeastern parts O.o.. I know it's still in development stage, but I just have to point it out XD I hope they can make it feel like where you're supposed to be. Edit: I guess that's where they want to add "three unique themes to each area" but it seems like you can feel lost that way. If the zones are too small to accompany the transitions, they're going to be jumbled mishmash of landscapes that make no sense. Ah yeah, I see what you mean about that. The conceptual maps are probably just drawn out with extra contrast to show exactly how the areas are divided. XIV has an amazing crew of artists so I'm sure they'll blend everything together well, I have no doubt the new areas will be stunning. :)

Imagine how psyched you'll feel when there's 2-3 days until the whole transformation and everything is going absolutely crazy in game? Exciting. Very exciting. This is the part that is totally sucking me back into this game right now even if I don't 100% have the time to play as much as I'd like to. I see this more as the reward for those who have stuck with the game through the re-work process, anyone here now who stays around is going to get to do something that no one else will ever get to do in the game, period. When I first started playing 11 which was my first MMO the one thing that always kind of disappointing me was no matter how many missions you did the world wouldn't necessarily change. It's the nature of MMO's, no matter when you start you get to do the same things as the previous players, and because of that the world cannot change around you. Even though this has been done the concept is still really awesome to think about, and to not have it just be some patch that updates the maps as I previously thought they were going to do, but actually something that changes the world forever and no one with a character creation date past the date of change will get to see or experience is something pretty awesome. I can't wait, and either today or tomorrow I'm going to start dedicating more time to playing the game again, especially since I haven't even seen the 1.19 patch stuff yet. The 2.0 UI looks so much better. While it is still a concept of the UI redesign, I'm still pleased to see that it has a much cleaner look to it.
As some people have pointed out, it does resemble the UI of some other games but honestly if it works, it works. No shame in adapting something good design-wise that came from elsewhere, which is a problem SE has been struggling with since the days of XI. I just hope they offer higher overlay resolutions than what the game offers now. I play on a laptop so my screen space is precious to me. I don't want a UI that clutters so much of the screen that it hinders gameplay. |
