Occupy Wall Street Protests
1. the federal government has the power to regulate any industry under the commerce clause.
2. we need a strong central government to operate, they tried to let the states run everything before, it didn't work out very well, that's why they wrote the constitution. As a person who understands greed, letting for profit private industry being the main and only real player when it comes to people's health, you get the mess we have. As to illegals and the myth that they don't pay any taxes, learn to research. Sylph.Dobrusi said: » doesn't matter if they can't, there's no official language for the US for a reason. However courtesy should dictate that they shouldn't get mad at you if you have no idea what the hell they are saying when they are trying to interact in a society that dominantly speaks English. Although I know it has its problems, it would do away with a lot of the under the table, no income tax oaying, and nearly get rid of the IRS. Edit: I got to go to bed now :( work comes early. Will catch up tomorrow. As to illegals and the myth that they don't pay any taxes, learn to research. Illegals pay taxes if they buy an identity and get a job, this filling out a W-2 and paying taxes but if someone is here illegally with no identity, shows up at a hospital and receives healthcare, that is screwing the tax paying Americans. If I'm wrong, tell me how. do some research like the rest of us did...it's not that hard. but let's just simply point out the obvious that income taxes aren't all the taxes that are collected... Sylph.Dobrusi said: » I'll probably take flak for this but I think granting citizenship to illegals kids, if born in the US, should be stopped. I meant to include this earlier. I'll be getting flack along with you, because I feel the same. I've already stated earlier that my mother is an immigrant, but she has been a legal ex-pat in this country (who pays taxes in two countries) since the late 70's. Whoever said get our troops out of South Korea...sorry no, we can't. When I served there, in 2001-2002, our very presence is basically what prevented the war from re-occurring...we can't do that to them. As far as getting out of the Middle East, we should, but not right this minute. There is still work left to be done. Though I agree, the spending involved as ruined us economically, and it should be halted to some degree now, then halted entirely (again, Middle East only) very soon.

They are both wealthy countries and if they want our support we should be getting paid for it. I'm all about helping them but we're getting killed with the cost of it. In a way, they do pay for it.. I mean honestly we're in a vast majority of their country's space in order to protect them. There isn't a single region of South Korea at least, that doesn't have 1-2 posts on it, if not more, especially by the DMZ line. GI's are everywhere among their citizens. a child is not to be punished for it's parents crime's, nice biblical logic their guy...
A person born on US soil is a US citizen regardless of their parents... The children are legal citizens, with rights. That won't change, no matter how hard that is to swallow. So you're basically saying that tourism helps out the parent country more than the country being visited? It hurts doubly if you think of it like that. American soldiers are being paid by American military, then spend their money in a foreign nation. You can't have more loss than that. Huh.. Well that's what I get for assuming..
I assumed Dobrusi would have been done by now.. Caitsith.Mahayaya said: » Huh? So you're basically saying that tourism helps out the parent country more than the country being visited? Its not so much tourism, as its us actually occupying their country, day in and day out. Bahamut.Jetackuu said: » that's silly... regardless of their parents, they are citizens, get over it. Ladies and gentlemen, I have a plan! Step 1: Plan destination! Step 2: Anchor baby!
