ok so currently this is my tp set

however i see a lot of thfs tp in fuzzy pants (calmecac)..
i cant figure a way to get 26% haste w/o using rapidus and using calmecac or should i not even bother...

my parses on VT crawlers in rolanberry fields(s) show that the top is better. any advice?

The 3% TA on triplus alone beats the 2%TA/2%DA on calmecacs, let alone the higher base damage/TA damage, and the crit rate you are losing from AF3 legs. Go with the first set.

edit: also, you'd be better off using triplus in the second set anyways (if it was even better than the first set), as the 3% TA is much better than 0.2-0.4% haste you get from rapidus.

Usually use triplus main hand when needing thf knife over Kila+2, but this is what I had set and didn't want to change it.

This set is -far- from optimal.

This set is the better of the two, but look into Dusk Ledelsens +1 if you dont need the acc.

Aside from cape, ranged, and offhand, am I missing something?

You shouldn't TP in AF3 feet, as they provide no benefit but set proc(rare and not worth relying on). I would go

Cavaros >> Atheling
Feet >> Ballerines/Ryuga Sune ate/Dusk+1
Hands >> AF3+2

Looking at my THF after this one makes me think "I'm bad and I should feel bad". This is close to my ideal setup I had in mind though.

Just prioritizing other jobs atm :P

That would be the set I used when I'm in a group with friends and just stacking TH, if I'm dbing one of my own weapons (wouldn't I be on NIN?) I use this set. Thanks for your opinion tho, I think.

And to be honest, as of late, I prefer cav mantle and raider's earring.

I Can't see 3% Critical hit Damage beating 20 Attack and 3% Double Attack.

So Cavaros is out of the picture... I tend to use Raider's Earring inside Abyssea... Though I'm relatively certain 34% to 35% Triple attack is probably not better than 5% Dbl to 10% Dbl.

umm i think its the sacrifices u need to make in other slots to keep that 25~26% haste that do it. cause i couldnt get 26% haste w/o using ballerines and rapidus. unless i use zelus >.>

Maybe BRD if you don't need the 2% extra haste from haidate or the ~15 acc.

I've seen a good amount of DRG using them lately. Since DRG AF3 legs dont have haste, the alternatives are... Ace's, Homam, Bestia

Tiercel Necklace will cap your haste too. The 5% dmg increase on crit hits vs 1%(cap) haste...? I'm not sure of the difference, but it is another option of gear spot and much better than downgrading your headpiece. I would still use rancor for your ws, but as far as tp... It may be worth testing.

For Abyssea, yes, substituting Ryuga Sune-Ate for more evasive mobs.

I can't think of any real situation where raiders is better than brutal. It would really need a crazy (unachievable) base TA rate to dethrone the gain from 5% DA (and 1 stp - lol).

I think the reason you see THF (like me) using Calcemac's is simply they (me again) don't have the +2 legs yet.

The set was made with capped accuracy in mind. Ryuga would be better than Homam if your accuracy was uncapped, on say a mob like Dragua? Or any evasive mob at that, not that there's much accuracy problems in Abyssea besides a few specific NMs.

meh it's all situational. Cavaros would molest all other in slot items for a brewed evis against Rani as an example or a SATA WS

And maybe if you were using RR Apoc Lion and TA waist, raiders earring, calmecac + Triplus + Demonry ring to stack it all ridiculously high it might pull ahead of brutal idk, never tried.

48% TA Rate lol

The way he worded I was under the impression he meant for "TP Phase". Course Cavaros may have some situation... But i don't think its general TP :X
