Everything is fine there, just make sure STR/END are Average by day 29 if you care about looks.


You should feed it greens x1 or x2 instead of just carrots until it regards you as a parent.


It won't like rain until like day 80+ assuming you walk it in rain in the walks, and I've heard doing chocobo hot and cold will increase your affinity, but I haven't confirmed that.


You unlock Gallop on regular walks, and Canter on long walks. You're not going to get those for a while. Just don't do any stories so you don't accidentally learn the wrong stuff.

Just a future question since mines almost a teen, how do I raise dsc/recept without lowering it from capped str(well, when it's an adult)? Seems a bit tricky, unless you just get it by spam telling stories

I do Digging for Treasure which lowers END and raises DSC, and do RCP with Chocotrains. It takes a bunch though. I don't think there's really a better way to do it. :x

Still wants to be with me all the time. Ive been feeding it 2 greens with 1 vomp or sometimes 1 green and 2 vomps.

Ive still not learned story from regular walks. Now do I still carry packages, compete, regular and long walks?

Where do i find the "Free Run" option at the npc?(Bastok npc Jazgeh)

i've read wiki and your guide and it says to do an official race before you can get the Free Run option but after doing lots of races and
"Re-Runs" i can't find free runs option.
please help

Have you won the official races?

There is a set of them, I forget how many. You have to win them, all of them, but you are allowed to loose and try again.

Hmm so far i have won an Official race twice,won the novice I & novice II re-runs thats all i have in my NPC options at the moment :(


Deit:not 100% if i came 1st in the novice II re-run so going to hit 1st on that

You have to place 3rd or higher in Novice Race I, II and III. You only need to re-run if you didn't place 3rd or higher.

i just came second on re-run novice II but can't see III :(

Try Novice I again? @@; Or zone out/in maybe glitching? :x

If that doesn't work the only thing I can think of is they ninja-patched in JP midnight waits for those races, or messed up the coding last update or something. :x

hmm just zoned and talked to NPC seems he still has Novice I & II in the Re-Run options no III.

only other option is official race but i've done that about 6 times coming 1st a few times,any idea what i'm doing wrong?

That would be very weird, I don't see why. :x I got my pullus torque on day ~40 on my previous chocobo, and that's pretty much right after it becomes an adult.

This is Novice Race III btw, I don't see how you don't have this.

Yeah I don't know what your issue is, do you have Official Race (0 Chocobucks) on your menu, because that should be Novice Race III.

Yeah that's what your problem is, lol. :x

You have to beat the official races (that aren't labeled novice races) to ear the ability to re-run the races, hence why Novice III race isn't showing up in re-runs because it's your current race.

Are you using Final Spurt+Speed Apple? Otherwise just wait until your chocobo is stronger.

nar can't seem to find where to buy them(i'll have to go through your guide again).

not too sure which is what but i think my bird has better than avergae STR and impressive endurance at the moment

then all other stats are poor

The apples are by the cup race sign up NPCs. You definitely need them to win.

Updated the guide a bit to (hopefully) clear up some confusion regarding the starter races. Also added in information about race chocobo training tokens. Added information on day 64+. Might add some more stuff too.
