been trying for hour & nothing reinstall the game & still got the same problem reformat my xbox HDD lost all my save but i didnt care.... hope SE gona fix this $$$$$ soon enough >< My BF just figured out what is the problem and it's a pol problem related from one of the server station in los angeles. (well for us)
that server is having huge problems atm so perhaps some other servers does too? wish SE would say a word, we still experiencing connections problem and random D/C's. He is too scared to post the exact information since he found the address of where is that server ect.(he's scared to get trouble with SE if he posted the information here)
anyway hope it helps understanding (he's a *** nerd QQ) If you used Comcast, you'd experience this problem alot lol
I'm in canada we dont have comcast here and never experienced any problem before.
I did a RAGE post of the english support forums in the official threads. Those that are annoyed, please take a few second to post there.So they don't think it's just 2-3 person having the same problem. More complaints they get, better chance we have to get their attention. Coming back from work and still dealing with this ***.... /RAGE Same problem here in Portugal. Got kicked last night around 11pm EST also. Tried to loggin for 15 minutes, was able to stay long enough to warp my butt out of Aby and get to PJ and then i got booted again. Been trying all day today, also getting POL-0011 error at different stages of login. The 2 times i was able to choose a char to play it didnt go past the *downloading data* black screen. Pretty darn sure it isnt an ISP problem.
Same there got problem with search in game friend list and log in.

Running the trace a few times will likely reveal the culprit. Sometimes the packets go through fine and sometimes they don't, which is why you'll eventually establish a connection if you hammer the server with enough login attempts. So it is an SE Issue, but it seems to affect only some ISP, after 1 day trying to connect every 10 min w/o success i connected my PC to my Iphone Shared 3Gconnection and now i can log-in. So at lest there's a solution for some of us until they fix it ^^
BTW my home connection is videotron, many ppl seems to have issue with them. My Iphone is with Rogers and i've been in game for a good while w/o issue so far Quebec videotron user here, same crap happening.

already did it , happen before i knew a lot of ppl had the same problem ; & it's only on my xbox 360 HDD so no big deal lol I just hope they fix this before i use too much download on my 3G connection xD.
When they going to fix that if everyone here now what the stupid problem is why SE dont do nothing
We've been having the same problem too since about 11pm EST last night. DC'd then unable to get back in, finally did only to DC again a very short time later. Now today, unable to log on at all, getting the check your connection 1160 error codes.
I still can't login.
I posted on the official forums and a lot of people complained about the same issue. It really is a shame how SE is cutting back on the quality of their services support. First the payment change and now a super weak technical support (the only reply SE made was the usual "it's a problem on your router or ISP") I have the same problems. Im with videotro too. What is funny is my mule can stay log while my main always get disconnect.
Gladly, I have a unlimited cell internet service so I log on my Iphone. Was kicked off at 11pm last night. Been able to get to character selection screen twice after a hundred or so attempts at logging in. Mostly getting -1160 at POL login. Unable to fully login on a character. Not working on Xbox or PC. ISP says everything looks good on their end and that my connection is just fine. Until a few minutes ago I was unable to even get on playonline.com, so hopefully it will be getting better soon.
I'm having the exact same problem. As of this morning when I login I go through about a dozen or so errors before finally getting a working connection. Once in game I then get a few AH and Seacom crashes but I've been very good with an actual stable connection.
Did all the usual troubleshooting and even got my ISP to reset + boost my signal temporarily but still XI making problems (and only XI, all other applications working just fine). Methinks SE might be getting throttled with this new SE Account management system? When i do get to try and log in a char this is what happens:

This is SE, not the players Both my wife and i play FFXI, and we started experiencing connectivity issues with POL as well as in game when we could actually get to the downloading data screen upon login. We recieve multiple 0011 errors, and it takes many attempts over 30 minutes or more to even log in to a character completely. I called SE tech support this morning to be told to check router port settings as well as directly connecting to my modem to make sure the router wasn't an issue. I then called my ISP to double check on ports with them and we still had the same issues. I actually had the an ISP tech worker come to my home and work on the connectivity issue, and he said it wasn't the ISP OR my router/computer etc. He then went to playonline website in an attempt to download the POL files from their vista or 7 compatability section, and he informed me that the download took 3 times longer than it normally should have. This tells me that there are server issues on SE side. I call tech support back and was told that SE intentionally caps the download speeds to prevent severe congestion. First off, why would a cap be needed for a file that doesn't see an incredible amount of traffic compared to a version update? Then SE tech support tells me that it is my ISP that is the issue. I proceed to tell them that all bases have been covered on my end and he starts denying everything. I ask to speak with someone else in hopes of looking at the issue from a different angle. He said there was nobody else. Then he tells me "I have to get going". Really?! It's now standard practice to blow off a customer like that when it's obvious that there are no problems on the customers side of the connection?! I called my ISP back and the tech support guy that i had been working with offered to call SE and talk to them about the issues. Waiting to hear back from him as of right now. Now i find that i'm not the only one having the issue, but i'm one of many having this issue. SE, stop denying fault and own up to your problems. Your customers shouldn't have to suffer from lack of communication on your end. ...i'm really starting to believe its true. Experiencing the same problem than a lot of people here: I need to do almost all steps twice to make the connection works. I have different error messages such as POL-0011 (network bug), POL-3100 (cannot connect to lobby server), POL-1160 (network is busy), POL -3001 (no response from server)...and when after dozen of tries, I finally reach the characters selection screen, I get the message POL-3201 (the same character is logged on).
It started yesterday when I got disconnect. I was able to log back, got warped from Abyssea then, in Port Jeuno, had a downloading black screen which never load. Since then, I cannot log in. If I'm able to pass the characters selection screen, it's only to end on a black downloading screen (again ><). Except the game, everything works fine with the connection (like some others players, my Internet distributor is Videotron but since people from others countries/distributors have the same problems, I doubt it's our connection the problem. .. And as i post that i get in game... hope you guys have the same luck, just wondering how long it will last
Got the same probleme, from Canada, quebec, using vidéotron.
