if the shout thing has a swear on it does it get topic banned for bypassing the profanity filter?

That's information that anyone on the server can access without your permission assuming that you ever do anything in game. In comparison, re-broadcasting things that you voluntarily shout in public seems like an invasion of privacy. I'm not saying either viewpoint is remotely sensible; I'm just saying that the FFXI community has seen stupider/similar viewpoints very recently. Stupid and paranoid people exist in all walks of life. FFXI is no exception. I was oddly shocked by the amount of people crying over the official forums branding you with a job level. It's not like anyone with half a brain couldn't just look you up on AH and if your info is hidden then just do a /sea in game if they are on your server. I can't even begin to figure out why people care if you can see shouts. Do they do a /sea before they shout so no one they don't like sees it? My head hurts... Next thing you know, people are going to be up in arms about the live Vana'diel camera too.

Did we get to accept on showing whatever we shout online on "3rd party site" when we first played/signed in the game ? I'm pretty sure NO. Anyways glad I don't play anymore or I would really have issues with this. Anyways glad I don't play anymore or I would really have issues with this. i'm 99% sure you never read the entire FFXI / Playonline EULA...so why are you commenting on it again? also, EULAs Don't ASK your permission for anything tbh, they TELL you what they are gonna do or you GTFO basically lol.
