Briareus Tips For Solo

Hey guys.

I just finished all the NM´s for Kannagi and started try to solo KI and Briareus.

Farming KI isnt that hard if you stun Ja from Nm´s i figured out.
Any tips on Briareus?

With Briareus, you can basically predict it's TP moves depending on how much damage it does from Mercurial Strike. As long as you pay attention, you'll be absolutely fine. The TP moves it uses based on damage are:

111 = Impact Roar (through shadows, does not wipe)
222 = Grand Slam (1-3 shadows)
333 = Grand Slam (1-3 shadows)
444 = Power Attack (1 shadow)
555 = Trebuchet (1-3 shadows, does not wipe it or go through unlike Grandgrousier)
666 = Trebuchet
777 = JA Times Reset to 0:00 (including 2hr) / Uses Mercurial Strike on the next TP move
888 = Colossal Slam
999 = Colossal Slam
1111 = 2hr Meikyo Shisui (will use Colossal Slam at least 3 times, so run away from him)

At 90 you should have no issue with him with a regular NIN TP setup. Good luck!

Sub dan and you can stun every M-strike and he shouldn't give you any problem. He will get 1 WS for every 110-130 tp you get (it's weird but hes consistant like that) so if you WS after he does you won't have to worry about missing a stun. Just Kurayami and Yonin and you have no need for evasion gear and as said above if he does hit you with a 1111 strike turn and run right away till he attempts 3 Collosal slams. Para also procs like a beast if you ever do run into a problem with him too.

Pretty much that. Only other thing I can add is personally I don't do anything until I stun Mercurial Strike. He misses a lot, and I just wait for M. Strike, stun, shadows, WS, etc. wait stun repeat. Also, should go without saying, but stutter step him to death and I think out of 36 helms I've failed to stun (without actually missing) like twice.

If you are really serious about farming up helms you are going to want to farm the pop items (Trophy Shield Massive armband and Oversized sock) as NIN/thf or thf main. I have actually had more success as nin/thf not sure if its a total fluke or there is something wrong with the coding for the new TH system and rare items in this zone.

Kill the NMs as nin/war or nin/pld and use staff merits and a hakimaki for sunburst, pitchfork for raiden thrust if you have it. This will give you 11/13 red procs. Farming up another pop item and killing the NM a second time takes much longer than getting 100TP with a weapon you have little skill in.

and Kill Briareus as NIN/THF, you don't need to stun his merc strike. The only ones that are a threat are 888 999 and 1111. For the first two his next TP move will be col. slam once and the latter his 2hr col. slam x3. Always ALWAYS use Kurayami hojo jubaku and Yurin at the start and refresh when neccessary. You will get much fewer TP moves from bri this way. (Yurin is TP inhibit.. kind of sTP down debuff)

Atmas RR GH MC for everything. MC is more than enough to sustain your HP through almost everything. When you need a little extra curing stock up on lucid potion 1&2 as well as lucid elixer from the prospector.

Yes the NMs are a little more difficult b/c of spikes and such but saves many hours in the long run. Occasionally if Grandgousier is being a pain i will use a fools powder/drink/tonic to ignore the stun spikes making it much easier to proc. Also when the NMs have spikes up. Also If i have not gotten a hint when spikes are up I will try and be using a 2 handed weapon(GK/Staff) to lessen the spikes dmg

Happy Farmings, and be courteous to groups working around you, they will usually return the favor (If not they are douches and get your itchy pop finger ready)
