The news is saying it lasted 15 secs but it seemed alot longer here in Fredericksburg, Va. My Mom is visiting and she had time to have her coffee jump out of her cup, scream earthquake and get down the stairs to wait it out under the kitchen table with my Daughter and I. Thought the house was collapsing at first. Now we have an assortment of toys, books and video games to get back on shelves. Miraculously all the pictures stayed on the walls which makes me wonder how bad they are at hanging them in DC since the news said they fell off the walls at the Capitol Building and it's way further from the epicenter.
apparently the pinnacles on some famous church in DC fell.

a lot of cells are down, yeah, don't worry. it wasn't that bad, lasted 15 seconds tops, didn't even knock anything over.
15 seconds? <.< Was like a minute here.

yeah was pretty tame D: by the time i got to my nephew's room and checked on him it was over lol

I don't think it was a minute....Idk I didn't really pay too much attn...I was more or less deciding if it I was losing my mind and imagining things (I wouldn't have doubted that today) or if it was legit.
News said it was about 45 seconds, idk I was half asleep lol, stumbling to the window to see if it was a tornado <.< Didn't even wake my kids.

Felt the Shake here in Mid-Michigan. People on the first Floor didn't feel much, but up here on the 4rth we had a light rocking back and forth.

edit: topic title near DC*

what the ***, you live here?
yeah glen burnie lol

Wow Glen Burnie too..

Back on topic.. I didn't feel it here, but I was driving a work truck at the time, and they drive like ***. I am always bouncing around, so I just thought the wind was blowing the truck a little bit. Didn't realize anything went down till I got back to the office and everyone was flipping out.

hahaha honestly everything in the middle of NC is awful

Maybe............... but we do get the influx of big city hookers twice a year during furniture market at least. Interesting conversations abound at the local Waffle House during those exiting weeks!

I just spoke to my brother in Virginia Beach. He said it was NBD. Building shook a little, everyone was freaking out...his training from Pegasus kicked in and dove underneath a desk.

There you have it. Stand by for damage report.

I was driving out here in VA Beach, didn't really feel anything out of the ordinary... but when I got home, talked to my neighbor who said he was cleaning his gutters, and was almost thrown off his ladder.

Bizarre place for an earthquake. Especially for a 5.2 or whatever.

In 2009 I know there was a very minor one in Cleburne, Texas that registered 2.8. They chalked it up to natural gas drilling though.
