I know I've done it before on my old computer, and I think it just involved removing a file from my POL folder, but how do i make it so that playonline is silent when i open it?

You don't even need to remove files; just open the PlayOnline Viewer config application and disable the "Enable Sound" option.

Should be in your Start Menu under PlayOnline.
