Myself and a friend have decided to start back at the game, and it looks like Odin is the shard/server/world of choice. We haven't played for over 2yrs, but I think we'd have a blast if we could find a LS that would want to help us with the occasinal question. I'm buying Abyssea tonight, and he should be ingame sooner.
Anyone want to reccomend their LS?

Why Odin, just curious? There's no 'good' server anymore, so if you were planning to move there and didn't have any friends there it's pretty pointless.

Every server will have the ***/intelligent people amongst the population, some more or less of both categories. I don't know which side shines more on this server.
All-in-all, every server you choose will have its ups and downs, just choose whichever your favorite name is, or possibly on the popularity of the server. An example being if they are famous for (insert whatever they are famous for here).
Good luck on your choice though. Odin is a pretty quaint server, but I don't speak for the people.

Since the merges, all servers are more or less equal in every aspect. If you're switching servers do it if you have friends there, or if you like some name over the other.
It depends on what you want. Odin has lots of decent(and not so decent) shells that do abyssea. The only thing i'm not sure you could find is a vwnm shell. I know they exist as a few jps have the gear, and arthars is in a shell that does them due to posts on bg. At least 2 of the better shells have members that do vwnm in my shout runs, and to my knowledge do not do them with their shells. The same applies to arch dyna NMs.

Honestly, outside of Voidwatch, those don't really exist. They're more like social shells now. You can check all the server forums and see if there was a recently bumped LS recruitment thread, but that's about it. Last one I can recall seeing is Draylo's shell.
I don't know any of the big named LSs on this server, nor their leaders personally. I wouldn't want to direct you to them without their consent on the matter if they may not be "recruiting" or whatnot. And I don't know of any social LSs, as I said still fairly new here, heh.
Best thing I can tell you if you come to Odin, shout around in town for a Social/EG ls that does whatever they do daily, be it talking about kittens and stuff, or downing ground kings. :U

A friend of mine started back and brought 3-4 people with her. I've been helping them off and on this week and some of them are 70 and about to fight maat and others are at 50. Its really quick to get back into if you have help.

See, the funny thing is, it's not like you notice him in-game. I had him on my server for ages and it's not like he picked shout fights or was a nuisance. He's just annoying on forums.

Yeah my friend went from 18-90 in about 5 days. With Avatars(minus diab, alex, odin) etc.

Yeah. Problem is unless you can find a linkshell dedicated to helping new people, they don't do that. Best bet is to make friends. :/
