Valhalla is sendable for sure, I got mine from a mule winning a Rank 4; Nocturnus isn't in the list SE gave us of things you can't, so it's reasonable to say you can send it.

SE's list they gave us is at: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/threads/7267

Oh, and Valhalla is more useful.

I would choose valhalla tbh, nocturnus is really rare but eventually I am sure SE will update campaign so those Ops are easier to obtain.

Valhalla Helm can be stored with the porter moogle, both should be able to be send to mules.

As for which is better, it depends.

Vhelm in most cases for taking damage. One situation where the Nocturnus is useful is when I am pulling dolls for exp. they only do 15-20 damage a hit if that. 5% of that isn't much. When I absorb the damage from the hits with Nocturnus, I get back 150-200 hp.

In general, I prefer stacking for the sure thing; I know I'll take less damage with Valhalla. With something like Nocturnus that has a variable activation, maybe you get super lucky and maybe you don't, but the uncertainty bugs me.

Yes but if you are taking less than 20 damage the 5% damage taken does not help much.

Valhalla's also equally useful vs magical dmg whereas nocturnus only procs on physical dmg.

Neither does the absorbs physical damage... what's your point?
