No. That would remove the entire point of having a security token.

Wouldn't I lose my satchel items though? Or something of the sort.

Edit: Wouldn't I also need access to the sec key in the first place so I can unlink them temporarily, therefore making the option unusable?

Bought, activated, deactivated 5 min later. Have had satchel since tokens came out, logged in with token 1x. I would never leave myself to the whims of the token frailness or battery.

How long was it hot before SE emergency maint'd it?

Tried that, it still doesn't work -- tells me something is wrong [and I know it's not my password, I can assure you.]

I think I'd have to cancel usage via SE account, but even my SE account needs the one-time password. :l

Wish I could remember to help you out. I just know a friend of mine and I discussed that it would be a terrible thing to lose the battery one day and be out of an account until SE fixed you. Then, I thought about my small children throwing them away, or flushing them down the commode. A year later, I heard all of the horror stories about people's battery dying and getting sub-par (typical) support from SE.

Sorry to add insult to injury, but I am thoroughly proud of my token decision.

I do remember that you had to log into the web page to deactivate it, then you could set your POL login to 'do not use' the one time pass. Sorry that's about as detailed as I recall.

Eh, I'm not offended in any way. Really, the only reason why I have a sec token is because I got the collector's edition for FFXIV [the game is still closed and everything] and used the sec token for FFXI. I wanted the satchel, so it wasn't like I went out of my way just to get a token.

You have to unlink your token from your account before it will let you login without it. Goto the PoL site and login to your account from there, in the options it should let you unlink your token.

Be warned though, once unlinked your token will be useless, if you ever did decide to relink your account you would need a new one.

You need to have your token with you to unlink it manually though, as you'll be prompted for the one time password to log in and to unlink it as well as the serial number on the back. If you want to unlink the token without having your token, call SE during normal business hours and tell them what you wish to do. You'll need to verify your identity though, so they'll ask you specific questions.
