Few strange things in there, mostly with stonega damage but I do apologize, it seems extremely high amounts of mdb become apparent, however, without future fab atma, the difference is minor enough to explain why small amounts of damage werent reduced any further.

So, your MDT gear makes you take 32/256 damage (curse that rounding), which isn't quite 90%. Your amount of MDT is kind of borderline and you use several pieces to get it, so it could be rounding or it could be the BST invincible pet nerf cap applied to PLD (87.5%).

As for why 20 MDB doesn't decrease your damage more than that, I don't know. The 70 MDB numbers fall almost back in line with the formula though. Did you do the testing on PLD/RDM or something?

Edit: Nevermind, figured it out. You were using Vicissitude.

Well, the 0 and 70 MDB numbers work out perfectly for a 15 MDB base, which is what Vicissitude gives you. I don't know what's up with the 20 MDB numbers. Those numbers work for 4 MDB (well, the -aga III doesn't). Did you take off Vicissitude between tests?

lol, well that'd be cool

Also, if you could go well over 90% MDT and do the test, that'd be cool too.

Remember to avoid Windsday! (And watch your INT due to the variable Heroes zones buffs)

I wonder if Divine Emblem would then increase the damage output of a brewed Aeolian Edge, also (assuming that it is affecting something other than a stat-based factor.)

If so, I'm sure it's easy enough to restore the DE timer again and again with intense soothing light chests or revitaliser temp items during the duration of the brew.

If I remember correctly, though, Ironclad Smiter develops a weakness to certain attack types based on his last TP move. Not to say it's not broken in that case (it still can be of course, LOL) but maybe the combination of the brew + striking at his weakened defense type accounted for the 99,999 there.

But for certain, from Demomo's screenshots, an 80k brew WS to an NM (from a PLD, specifically) for the duration of DE is certainly nice news. If it makes short work of high-defense enemies like Rani, maybe it opens up the possibility of doing many Rani pops in a row on a single brew.

At least until someone mentions it on the FFXI forums. :p

Emergency Maintenance? Knowing SE, it'll be a good 2-3 months before they patch it just like 100% PDT pets and the extra hour on blunt procs.

Nah 99,999 only happens on brews. So unless you have 12+ pops, it'll be the same thing.

well "lolSmiter" or not, it one-shotted him...I think he didn't even do anything prior to (as in no kiting or w/e so no WS was used by smiter to weaken it to certain attacks)... Anyways, i've never seen a 99,999 dmg anything on brew thus far even on shin or rani/rajas.... *shrug* ok.. if you say 99,999 is par for the course.. its par for the course

On high magic defense super bosses i dont hit 99999. Like i do 30-40k on rani and 60k on alfart. NMs with no extra magic resistance are easy to hit 99999 on tho. And if i get any support like a cor with +2feet using the lightning quickdraw, it spikes me to 99999 on almost anything. That particular Smiter was pulled to me at martello 8 so its possible he could of used the magic weakness TP move b4 he got there.

Ive even wrapped damage b4 on a left over brew on lord varney. The log said i hit him for 2k. He was at full health. But he got one shotted anyway.

P.S. Don't use cloudsplitter on dragua ; ; Mr. earth laughs at lightning damage.

On topic, that aoelian glitch is pretty cool. Sound like the kinda thing they will fix, but for now have fun doing some pld version cleave parties xD.

Haha that reminds me of the time I was getting that abyssite from the wyvern near Isgebind with a shout group. Saw a thf brew 3 Isgebinds at once and needless to say it failed and people in my pt claim brewed :X.

Thats pretty crazy that 99,999 is the norm... I guess maybe me not seeing a whole ton of 99,999 dmg SS's or w/e could have been people didn't really have a lot of good elemental dmg empys finished like farsha I guess... idk... Thats pretty sick though, and ya i'd bet Cor +2 or even +1 feet would give some nice dmg boosts to cloudsplitter lol... I didn't even think of that, honestly

yeh the cor quick draws add in +20% to matching element. Its one of the reasons cor's get such high wildfire numbers, but that doesnt stop you from using it on other peoples brews. And im surprised people don't sub the proper circle abilities for brews. Things like warding circle, holy circle, ect. They add 15% dmg. So a cor with the proper sub can add in 35% more dmg to themselves or sumone elses brew + mab roll.

Well, a few things
1) COR shots only add 20% damage to the matching element when the COR is using AF3+2 boots.
2) Warding/Holy/whatever Circle only give a 5% damage boost. Killer Instinct (BST merit JA) gives 15%, but not the others.
3) If one thing gives +20% and another thing gave +15%, they'd actually give +38% if combined
4) Wildfire CORs do so much damage because of Wildfire's dSTAT term. For most elemental weaponskills it is capped at 32, but Wildfire's is both uncapped and doubled. Fire Shot, Griffin Claw, Vulcan's Staff, etc. don't hurt, but that's not why the weaponskill is so good when brewed.
5) (reading up the page) Most Abyssea NMs have substantial (like 40~60) MDB.
