Trabia Server-wide Contest

Date/time: Sunday, June 12th at 4PM EST / 1PM PST.

So far 14 million gil has been donated to the prize pool, which will be distributed amongst the 3 winners.

Challenge:
A foot race throughout the lands of Eorzea. Exact checkpoints will be released at the time of the race.

Race outline:
- We will start in the Conjurer's Guild (Gridania) at 4pm EST. Please gather a few minutes earlier to recap rules and issue linkpearls
- Once you receive your pearl you are to /sit (I'll take a screenshot of the specific starting "boundary" tonight)
- Once everyone is pearled and seated, I will call out the first waypoint, and everyone stands and begins running! It will be an aetheryte camp or gate, and it will be required to touch the crystal so it shows in your Lodestone history
- When the first runners are near the waypoint, I will call out the second waypoint over /ls chat. Make sure you don't filter out that linkshell channel
- This will proceed until the final waypoint. I need to determine the best way to finish the run, maybe have people buy something from my bazaar at the finish line for 1gil, and screenshot my chat log of transactions (if new accounts get gil, need to verify)

Rules:
- Runner MUST be a new mule (see below for help adding a new char slot)
- Any class is fine, must be rank 1 and physical level 2
- Any gear is fine EXCEPT Hermes Sandals, nothing will save a rank 1 from 3000+ dmg
- Onion Helm is fine, you'll still get one-shotted, weakened or not lol
- No parties
- No teleporting
- Using return after dying is fine

Other Info:
I hope everyone sticks to the spirit of the event and avoids cheating, but we will still take precautions to watch all nearby camps for players warping in.

A linkshell will be created specifically for this event and pearls will be given out at the predetermined starting location. Once the pearl is received the runner is not to leave the starting area. Please keep the pearl until prizes are awarded, it will be used as part of the verification process. The winners will also have their lodestone pages/history verified before prizes are awarded. Obtaining any aetheryte points beforehand is not allowed.

The race path will not be released before the event. I suggest you recap camp/gate names to minimize time spent scouring the map.

Instructions to add a new FFXIV character slot:
- Log into the Square Enix Account Management System
- Under Services and Options (left menu), click Select Service
- Click FINAL FANTASY XIV
- Under Active Service Accounts, click Options List
- Click Add new options
- Continue from there to add a new FFXIV character slot

Oh gawd. You think you've broken away/avoided aggro and gotten out of range, only to get the toad lick of doom. lol

I think it should be a single race.. A tournament just doesn't sound as fun as an all on the line race.

I'm from Trabia and I'd be interested in joining in, depending on how it's set up/rules and how many people plan to participate. Should probably set up a temporary forum/website for sign ups so people can see how many others plan to attend.. It just wouldn't be as fun if it's only like 10-20 people. That's my opinion anyways.

I'd say start it in either Uldah or At the ferry in Thanalan, and run it through Thanalan into Mor Dhona, Coerthas, Black Shround and finally ending in Gridania. Thanalan so some can gain the lead and others fall behind before making things tricky by having to dodge aggro in Mor Dhona.

Lodestone

Too bad you get all maps as soon as you start.. Would be a lot more interesting if people didn't have maps <.< I might attend.. Sunday is a bit quicker than I was really thinking about.

I know, it's such short notice. But if we schedule next weekend and patch 1.18 comes out, interest drops off severely =(

Honestly I've got more people donating gil/mats than those which have shown interest in the actual race lol.
