MS Paint Challenge Round 2: Week 43

Topic: Crazy hats

Your FFXI character was invited to the Vanadielian Royal Wedding or the Kentucky (chocobo?) derby. You decide you need to join the crazy, outrageous hat club to fit in with the cool crowd. What does your hat look like?

If you're a dude you can still hat-it-out or drag a date along.

Official rules:

1. Only MS Paint is allowed for submitted entries.

2. Use IMG tags to post your submission, no URLs please.

3. If you want to play, submit your entry in a reply.

4. Try to post at least one work in progress (WIP) along with your entry in a link or spoiler.

5. No voting for yourself.

6. To vote for someone post a reply saying "I vote for (Name in Bold)"

7. No submitting old works from the original MS Paint Challenges! Should a subject that you did a work for in the last challenge arise, please use a fresh idea!

8. Entry submissions open Sunday, voting takes place the following Saturday. Please try to refrain from casting your vote before then. The winner gets to choose next week's theme.

9. Please limit the quoting of entries to make browsing the thread easier.

I'm having trouble coming up with an idea ~

Was wondering, do you guys have/know of any good sites to learn how to draw body form... I'm not all that bad with faces when i put the effort into it but any time i try to go below the neck it never ends well XD.

I'm sure google will give me some but figured you guys might know some good ones.

To save you some trouble, many guides or whatever will suggest doing a life class or using yourself as a reference.

Both are very good advice. The only slight problem with life classes is that you'll be drawing the normal, average looking person - our characters don't look like the normal, every day joe really, do they lol? The same problem for yourself, depending on if you live at the gym or whatever :p

As you said, a good old google search will get you what you want but to find something useful takes a bit of digging. It also depends on what you want to do as a style, having said that do NOT dismiss anything because it isn't the "style" you want your drawings to be in. You can learn anything from looking at anything.

Here are some links to some stuff I've found useful, but overall I'd suggest looking on DeviantArt, idrawgirls.com or dragoart. The later will need some digging, idrawgirls is something I came across recentally but just check the menu thingi to the right of the screen (scroll down a tad) and you'll be fine.

one week i walked in this thread. someone screamed and then punched me. i immediately walked out.

I'm struggling to come up with ideas. Okay, that's not exactly true. I have one idea but I'm not quite feeling it yet. It looks like I'm going to leave it to Friday, panic, then spend the whole of Friday rushing an entry together... again lol.

Looking forward to see what other people come up with though!
