I could fix it, and then the LS Comm parser would just put it back wrong again within ~24 hours. =/

Obviously the best thing for your overall health in the long-term, but certainly not cause for celebration.

Have you never had any really satisfying bans? Like someone who's been causing problems for a really look time, and having them gone is like a huge relief?

At this point, either is acceptable.

Even if my account isn't linked to LS Community anymore?

What color is the ban button, and are there any sound effects that go off.

In my head it sounds like this:

This post will now self-destruct in 5 seconds...
5...
4...
3...
2...
1...

Have a nice day!

Maybe I should add sound effects when I press it on my end XD

Post or person, ban or delete, all same lol
D: If it sounded like this all the time, a LOT more people would be banned, believe me :x
I can see it

Anye: Wow, person-x is really stepping over the line this time, I guess I need to do what needs to be done...
...just hit submit aaaand...
I think it's clear to say that we oughtn't make the ban button more fun in any way, shape or form. :x

-edit- crap you guys post fast

Just because I'm curious..

It's been mentioned that there might be some new mods being added soon, what exactly is the criteria that puts someone in or out of the consideration box?

Honestly, not really.

Most of the time I just feel so exhausted by trying to deal with the person leading up to their ban, getting other admin/moderator consensus, doing the paperwork on their account, handling the complaints, etc... the final button press is pretty anti-climactic.

There's certainly a small sense of "and stay out!" satisfaction involved? I'm only human. But usually it's dwarfed by the tired realism of knowing you really can't do anything truly permanent on the internet anyway.

Theres just something about rift after around level 28ish that you really see rift become it's own game. It becomes something different from even WoW. While it may have a lot of similarities you can tell there is something different about it and I enjoy that. At the same time it shares one common feature with WoW. I don't have to sit down an play every minute I'm free from work in order to achieve something. Something FFXI isn't AS bad about as it was...but is still pretty bad.

I got a question? If for some reason, a mod and a poster disagree with each other, a moderator does have to remain impartial to personal opinions, if there is heated debates on specific topics that the mod might feel "attached" to?

Technically we are supposed to stay out of debates but sometimes we might get in a discussion but we won't cross the lines and take it personal to go off and maybe topicban cause we didn't like their response.

None of the admins play anymore, and I think most of the moderators are on temporary or permanent haituses. haitii? haitussissu... whatever the plural of that is. Even Firefox spellcheck is baffled.

I picked up WoW with the advent of Cataclysm and have been having a really great time. They really did an excellent job. I flat-out refused to play this damn game for half a decade, but can clearly see why they're the 800lb gorilla on the block. It makes me happy I'm not trying to compete with them anymore.

A ton of my friends are on the Rift dev team, so I really need to give it a shot, but I'm a bit leery about trying to master two MMO's at once, given how insanely busy I've been with work recently.

Think of it along the lines as remaining as professional as possible. Obviously we're all human and have points of views that are likely to differ with those of a number of posters', but in the end as moderators our job isn't to participate in discussions, but moderate them. So in a way, you're right--we do have the responsibility to remain impartial for the sake of professionalism.

I understand that, and it sound normal, I just meant that how would anyone know a mod, might be frusterated with Rl stuff, and then get on the Computer, with a Hot-headed trigger finger like impression, and go on a ban spree...

I enjoy it when you have normal conversations, get flustered in a debate or anything like that, simply because it makes me remember that the green bar is only a colour and you guys aren't just working for the man!

I'm with Flion on this. The mods have guidelines they themselves must follow and I'd imagine if one of them stepped out of line Jaerik or Scragg would intervene.

As much as I don't necessarily agree with Krizz's decisions on matters, there's always a reason behind each action.

Sometimes I think it's OTT, but then I'm easy going so...

But seriously, if you've had PM privileges removed then you'd deserve it.

Or anything else for that matter.
